  1. I agree. In truth, we could pick from any position group other than QB, and it would be a big help if the pick turns out to be a solid player.
  2. Its difficult to know how good they will be until we start playing. On paper, they should be better, but qb is a big question mark.
  3. How many people, when they go out in Charlotte, take a cab? I doubt many of them do.
  4. Great first game. Hated to see either one of them lose. Miami is not getting off to a great start. 7 points in 8 minutes.
  5. He also picked a Qb, a DE (I think he was responsible for getting Peppers, but could be wrong), a CB (Gamble), and two tackles. One of the tackles failed due to injury but the other one turned out pretty well. The tackle (Otah) was perhaps his only first round miss, and that injury related. He wasn't good at some of the other football things, but I don't think anyone can legitimately criticize his first-round picks for the Panthers.
  6. Trevor has had some positive moments, but an equal number of negative moments as well. But whomever we draft, should in theory, come into a much better situation than Lawrence did.
  7. I will go on record and say it will be Stroud. I have a 50% chance of being right.
  8. I have to disagree. The places I enjoy going on vacation to are not places I would want to live. The things that make them enjoyable as a vacation area would get boring very quickly if I lived there. A lot of people I know have moved to the beach, and about half of them eventually moved back. I have taken trips all up and down the coast, from Kitty Hawk to Charleston, and while I enjoyed most of the trips, I can't imagine I would want to live in any of those areas. I like being in an area where I am an hour or less away from Pro Football, and 30 minutes away from College Basketball/Football, with an excellent mix of restaurants with a large variety of different types of food. Of course, the big thing for me is being close to family. That trumps everything else.
  9. I greatly prefer Mountain City over Johnson City. But that is primarily because I had some friends in Mountain City, and spent a lot of good weekends up there. And my EX wife is from Johnson City, so not very fond of that place. lol
  10. Congrats to Miami, heck of a second half performance. And they did it old school, points in the paint and at the free throw line. Not many threes. No one seeds, no two seeds, no three seeds. The final four is a four, two fives, and a nine. Best tournament in a while imo. Also, while the ACC overall performed poorly, the still performed better than the Big 10/SEC/Pac10. Only conference in the power five with a team in the final four.
  11. If I were to bet, I would say UConn wins it this year, but it really could be any of the teams that are left.
  12. Well, Miami will make the elite 8 for the second year in a row.
  13. Maybe, but the rest of the ACC looked pretty bad. Almost as bad as the Big 10 and Pac10.
  14. Best team, ie most talented doesn't matter as much in college bball. An off night shooting in a one and done tournament is all it takes.
  15. This is the year of the little guys. No SEC teams, no Big 10, no Pac10. Two Big 12 and one ACC team. Although I guess UConn is not really a little guy since they have won some championships.
  16. Bama is done. Miami up by 17 over Houston. All four number seeds could be done in a little bit. Alabama may be more talented, but in College BBall, the three is the great equalizer. SDSU shot them decently, Alabama was horrible.
  17. Hope Miami makes it to the final four. If they can survive Houston, they have a very good shot. They look pretty good so far, but still got another half to go. If I had to pick a team to win it this year at this point, might be UConn. They might be the hottest team in the country.
  18. DJ played with one of the worst series of QB's/Coaches in the NFL over the last several years. IMO, and with all things considered, he outplayed his contract.
  19. You are right in that we never know for certain how things will work out. Of course, some do come in with more of a polished look to them.
  20. So apparently, if a team wants to get rid of its owner, all they have to do is hire the Hurney/Rivera combination.
  21. I think a lot of that depends on him and on his coaching staff. He needs to work on decision making, time, accuracy. His coaching staff needs to design the offense in a way that he can succeed. Of course, both of those things could happen, and he still not work out. Or he could become a star. No one knows at this point. For better or worse, I guess its not our problem.
  22. We will draft a qb with our first. WR is a bigger need right now than TE, so I hope we don't waste our 2nd on a TE. And a later round pick isn't likely to be any better than Ian.
