Cam Ward.....opinions (AKA A Thread About Shedeur Sanders)
Davidson Deac II replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same age as Daniels, the only successful qb (so far) from this past years draft. -
We certainly avoided that by drafting Young. He will be out quickly.

Yes For $19.99 plus tax, I can let you know when the world will end. -

The qb gurus are wrong more often than they are right. So your opinion means as much as anyone's. -

I think all the fans of opposing teams in the ACC would love it if FSU hired Sanders as their coach. He would get a lot of hype, come out hot, but soon fade. -

Fair enough. IMO, the real question regarding his ability to play in the NFL though is will he learn when to make those risky throws and when not to, ie will he learn from his mistakes. -

Does Ward turn the ball over a lot? Looking at his stats, doesn't seem to have a lot of turnovers. 7 total last year. -
Bryce Young for Trevor Lawrence

I wouldn't say the Jaguars have invested nothing in their offensive. They spent a first last year on a tackle, they had another tackle under a large contract who was pretty good, but hasn't been the same since an injury. They signed a few others who were considered good signings at the time. Maybe they didn't invest wisely, but they definitely invested. -
Ironic you should say that. A couple of people (Brady and Orlovsky) have recently said that part of the problem is that qb's are thrown into starting roles immediately and don't spend enough time in college or in the pros learning the offense and working their way up. Orlovsky implied that Stroud spending three years in school, redshirting a year, was one of the reasons he did so well.

Multiple Trade Offers for Bryce
Davidson Deac II replied to Daddy_Uncle's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem is him becoming a starting NFL qb would be a significant aberration. He is the smallest starter in NFL history, or something like that. He doesn't have a super strong arm, nor does he have great athleticism. The odds were already against him, and now that he has 18 games under his belt and has gotten worse as he progressed, the odds of him becoming a NFL starter are even slimmer than they were. So it may be better if we get what we can for him. -
So apparently, the key to drafting a qb is to have the number two draft pick.

Bryce Young for Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence is definitely not a generational talent. A generational talent can win with an average offense around him. Brady did it, Drew Brees did it, Aaron Rogers did it, Mahomes is doing it. They made the players around them look better. I think of him as Matt Ryan, pretty good when you surround him with an all-star cast. That being said, there is not a chance in he!! that the Jaguars trade him anytime soon. -
Who is scary on the remaining schedule?
Davidson Deac II replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Same here. It felt great to win one, it felt great to see the offense and defense do something, but its still just one win. Would like to see a trend develop before I start thinking positively about the season. -
I was watching him last night and thinking RGIII. If I am their coach, I tell him unless the game is on the line, slide.

BREAKING: Adam Thielen injury
Davidson Deac II replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I didn't change course. The number one goal of a coach is to win football games. If it's this early in the season, and a coach is not putting the team on the field that gives him the best chance to win, then that coach will not last long in the NFL. This is not just with our owner, its with any owner, fanbase, team etc... The Lockeroom doesn't care about developing some rookie, they care about the coach giving them a shot to win. You want a guy like Johnson to want to come back, the coach has to care about winning. The development comes in practice, in watching how the veterans do it, in working your way up. And when an injury occurs, making the most of it. Throwing guys out there who aren't ready, just for "development" is likely to lead to the unemployment line. -
Watching Daniels last night, maybe its better to have the #2 spot in the draft when picking a qb. At least it has been the last two years.

BREAKING: Adam Thielen injury

You mean a reason other than wanting to win football games? -
Its early in his career, but Daniels seems like a far better passer than Vick ever was.
-
Burrow gets sacked a lot and still produces. The secondary better show up. And the offense.

The Washington/Cincy game is turning into a very good game.

BREAKING: Adam Thielen injury

Hamstrings are not usually career ending so not to bad for him. Unfortunately, they can sometimes linger for a while, so no telling when he will be back. -
There were Panther fans that wanted to tank for Trevor. Jacksonville had the first pick two years running, and it hasn't seemed to help much.

Beautiful throw by Daniels and solid route/catch by Mclaurin.
