  1. Maybe NYC has not reported in today, but much better number as far as people who died today. Only 14 reported so far today. Big change from yesterday. Sounds weird talking about it in such a manner, but unless they just have not gotten them reported, that is good.
  2. Over half of the countries coronavirus cases are there. 56%
  3. 3 days of fairly flat growth in NYC could be a very good sign. Hoping for their sake.
  4. I think of elevators being touched, hand rails and places like Chinatown, where everyone opens their shops. Food delivery and such will have to be sooooo coordinated to feed people in NY confined to their apts. Big task
  5. In the end, whether Dem or Pub, Fed or State, there are going to be lots of things to learn from something that comes from left field. I don't trust pols with what they do see coming, much less the things that they cannot. Nobody in the world was ready for this. And NYC is the land version of the USS Petri Dish. I am not sure what kinds of efforts would work there short of putting them in jail, which was floated because they would not close the bars. Everyone is going to have it. That is why I said take the draconian measures with the at risk folks and provide for them. Social distancing in NYC is quite impossible.
  6. What mitigation efforts are the Feds in charge of vs state and local?
  7. New thread coming? https://www.foxnews.com/health/hantavirus-kills-man-coronavirus-hit-china-32-others-tested-report
  8. If not an election year, it might have been 4 trillion, but nobody wants to look frugal at this point. 2 trillion is coming for sure, but what about the other 4?
  9. 5800 new cases today so far for US 4500 of them in NYC Ground Zero for sure
  10. You were watching me type my response, haha. 2 seconds apart
  11. The Fed is a genie, you rub their belly and poof. 500k ventilators appear. You know, cause everyone knew for the last 50 years that they should have warehouses full of these. This is not anything that any gov has planned for. Since budgets mean nothing anymore, I guess they can buy warehouses and put 400 million rolls of toilet paper in them for the next unseen virus, in case it affects the GI tract. And so on and so on. I am not a Trump fan, nor did I vote for him, but the finger pointing, with no thought beyond Twitter "knowledge" is pretty awesome to watch.
  12. NC had its first reported fatalities today because of virus. 2 people. One from Cabarrus County and one who was traveling through the state from VA. So one resident
  13. How many governors out of the 50 are complaining that they are getting no assistance?
  14. Probably good that we are set up with governors. Every state is different, and every state should not necessarily be doing the exact same measures. NYC is not Wyoming. Each governor will be graded on how he handled in his state. Each day, they have a call with all governors to see what is needed.
  15. Everyone is a fool, look at my chart!! Go a bit deeper. Our cases are skyrocketing for 2 reasons, first, we started mass testing a couple weeks ago, 2nd, we are way behind on getting results. The backlog will be catching up soon now that the test reading is in place, but CDC says to expect huge numbers as they catch up on all backlog tests. There is a bit of a lag in results, even though people already have it, just have no been notified. Thus the 2 week thing, to catch up on all testing and results. Expect very high numbers of cases over the next week. Deaths are real time however. NYC has a third of all deaths in US. One city. Been saying that for a couple weeks and anyone who has been to NY knows there is no room for anything like distancing there. It is one large petri dish. Concentrating on them is a good thing.
  16. Most politicians do not want to be blamed for being bold, and you can somewhat understand that as their opponents will point the finger at them at the next election. Thus, if one city does it, most will follow suit. NC has not had one death yet from the virus. Chances are they will, but still, taking the extreme measures for "everyone" might not be the best route. Most however, will say, "better safe than sorry". Then, if everyone is losing homes and jobs, they will point at the Feds. Easy out.
  17. I think Louisiana must be having public square dances or something
  18. Supposed to immediatly self quarantine if they are headed to FL, but we will see
  19. LA has more deaths than NJ or CA. Really screwy down in Cajun country. Totally understand NYC issue, not sure what they do about it, besides complain. Cuomo has his hands full. Lots of them fleeing to FL
  20. Yes, pay no attention to stats and facts, Twitter is truth
  21. Don't tell em to take it to the TBox, or you'll get banned like me
  22. Thinking not allowed here. Just react
  23. The point was that they got sick from seasonal flu....and died.
  24. Ok, so we are circling back around again to the lack of self control and not shutting down the elderly. Guess we can do this over and over.
