  1. You gotta admit there were games where our wr's had a lot of drops on throws they should've caught. Along with the Bryce throws ha. If Coker can play a full season I like our wr room a lot better. 2nd year TMac, better options than XL. It stand to reason if Bryce can limit to half the duck throws and we can get half as many drops the numbers will improve a good bit. I mean I get your take that hey it's just all doo doo til we get rid of Bryce but it's more fun for me to wait and see what they actually do this year and hope they surprise us
  2. I'm not acting like anything I'm saying it's the best case scenario. That's like 65 yards more passing a game.
  3. Right I totally get that. But we're not getting one this year. If he can hit Darnold's numbers from last year and the D tightens up we should be able to play complimentary football and be pretty good. What we gave up to get him is sunk cost at this point. The teams finally good enough around him to see whatever his best is, no excuses left it's on him to elevate. I've got my doubts but IF he can it's what's best for the team so might as well just see if he's got more in him. I just want him to answer the question definitively. Either crash and burn or lift the team up
  4. Our best games last year were vs the Rams. If Bryce can play closer to like he did in the playoff game and defense improves like it looks on paper consistently we will be a hard out for anyone
  5. I've always wanted to see him in more of a fb/hback role. Dude runs hard once he's got the ball
  6. Why are we afraid of the Browns. Or Pittsburgh. Shedeur and the Aron bs. Our defense will be better. I'm not sold on Caleb and Burrow has to deal with Cincy's shitty oline. I haven't seen MVP Lamar in a minute. Just saying lots of questions about these other teams. Anyone can obviously lose to anyone but just looking out roster it seems more complete then several of these teams
  7. Oh yeah makes sense to be afraid of a Daniel's/Giant situation. I want him to either clearly play his way into that or not. Big difference in 25 million and 50+
  8. Right on, which was why I was saying if he's the guy that at least gets us to that point that's an upgrade from where we've been. We were a terrible situation for any QB to walk into so at very least I like that our rosters much better to support someone. It's on Bryce to show if he can do it...if not the next guy walks into a much better situation
  9. Exactly..dude made them a playoff contender. There's very few Mahomes'/Allens. You can win with a good QB even if it's not one of those guys
  10. Good take...Seattle just won with Sam Darnold throwing 4000 yds and 25 tds. Good numbers but not world beater. They played to his and the team's strengths. Drew Brees and Bryce's numbers are very similar their first 3 seasons. It'd take a BIG jump for Bryce to get close to that but even getting in the ballpark will make us a contender. Or if he's our Alex Smith then we finally have a good roster for a rookie to walk into
  11. I'm interested to see what Idzik can do with Bevell helping. Adding some of the west coast boots and play action off of it /misdirection stuff would be good for Bryce imo
  12. I've made too much fun of other teams taking TE's in the first round to ever want us to do it. Maybe if your roster is absolutely loaded. The drafts a crap shoot but I like what they did
  13. We've needed a safety like that for a long time wouldn't be mad at all
  14. Right, the floor for any WR/TE we even think of taking that high should be "great hands and great route running" otherwise just roll with what we have
  15. Ha I know right. It makes since for them to ride out his option years and see if he can take another step forward. If not our next QB steps into a good situation. If you look at Drew Bree's' stats his first 3 seasons in San Diego they're pretty similar to Bryce's and those offenses had a lot of talent. Best case is he takes that same kind of leap now. I don't know if he's got that in him but we're about to find out for sure
  16. That's a very true statement. The reason Bryce threw to Thielen so much is he was exactly where he's supposed to be. Everything has to be about anticipation and timing with his size. Can't change that so gotta prioritize WRs knowing where to be and the hands so we don't have wasted plays
  17. Strange things happen in the draft just want them to hit on their guy...I don't follow college football so I just go off you guys' opinions and write ups etc
  18. Right... I'd want to know can he slide to guard if needed. Injuries always happen on the oline I think someone that can cover multiple positions is always good to have
  19. Seems like a guy that could turn the 10-20 yd passes from Bryce into 40+. People hated the Kuechly pick when we took him but the fact is if we get probowl/top tier player it's hard to hate the pick even if we think we're covered at that spot
  20. Just depends on if/how they use him. The way Idziks talking we might be going more spread offense since Bryce seems to play better out of it. Tmac and Coker are both big WRs a dynamic wr that can actually catch and run good routes could work wonders. Obviously would mean they better hit on their other picks and that wr better be a badass or we'll all be cussing ha
  21. Man I hate Payton getting this guy
  22. The list of prospects by rd that was posted earlier that I saw looked like all the first round guys we've met so far were defensive, DT/LB/and Edge. Obviously there will be more and probably missed somebody but just stood out to me
