People complain too much about the draft sub forum still showing 2023, Tepper and his turf and I miss the sub forum that celebrated the beauty of the human female.

Seems like every year Chris has a negative take many Panther fans take exception to and every year I thank him for exspleening himself.

If I were in his shoes I would likely be involved as well. Ideal scenario is he treats football operations like his Lear jet Would like to understand how things work but probably best to let someone else fly it.

I think a total hands off approach is not attainable. The football team is a toy the Billionaire plays with. Ideally he finds a happy balance of being informed, engaged and questioning the process. It’s one thing to be aware of what’s going on and make sure there is logic and reason in said process. It’s another to circumvent the process with “ gut instinct” and personal preference. if he can do that, drop some cash in the facilities and stop throwing drinks, things will start turning around I hope

I do like him as a a team guy but the above is accurate. I wish him well though.

As of now I think he is gonna be available at 8 and the best guy for us. The other defensive guys that I think will be available are not as “good at football” IMO. I don’t think this team should draft a TE as high as 8 and TMac might be good but I can’t get excited for him. so my reasons for not liking anyone else probably aren’t all good reasons but that’s where im at

I don’t think we can afford to give up the draft capital required to move up that far plus I don’t know why but I’m not sold on Carter being worth what it would take to move up and once again we would be over drafting a player (in my eyes at least)

Well, someone has to be the 2nd worst owner in football so I might as well be Tepper. I think all he needs to do is stay quiet, put grass on the field and maybe some sour patches in the locker room. That could easily get him in the top 15.

I think this means we don’t need to draft a running back. Doesn’t means shouldn’t draft a RB.

Walker is my realistic pick at 8. Can’t get excited about anyone else. Would be disappointed if we ended up with the WR CB or TE and think the edges are a bit of a reach.

We drafted the “poor man’s” version (what some called it at the time) of Simmons in Chinn, who turned out to be the better player regardless of their draft position, but we never figured out how to use him properly. Now, the bust version of Chinn is available so maybe we should pick him up?

I agree but would add that I think it gives them flexibility in the draft. Even though they don’t have to they should grab one. Dawdle is a rental. But if the opportunity presents itself, they should grab an RB in the mid rounds. They just don’t have to reach for a guy out of need.

I think it depends on how they quantify “BPA”. From a talent, playmaker, insert superlative standpoint I think you may be correct. If BPA grade takes into account need, positional value and other factors he will not likely be “BPA”. Not disagreeing with you but when they drop BPA I can’t take it literally. I thought about creating a topic on different factors that might go into BPA for these guys as I think it might spurn interesting conversation but never got around to it.

I seriously doubt it. The only close to good things I remember about him on this board was just after he was drafted most people were hoping he would develop which applies to all draft picks. It’s been all downhill since that point.

If everyone’s a reach then no one’s a reach. It’s all relative to this group of players.

I’d rather take the Johnson(CB), Warren (TE) or Starks(S) than Williams and I don’t like any of those guys at 8. I’m just tired of getting guys with a big “if” attached to the selection.

I am not challenging you on this, just seeking insight so my question is not meant to be disrespectful. That said, why would u plan to switch a defensive scheme next year (by next year I assume u mean 26/27 season). Especially when u are coming off a season with a historically bad defense. Might as well just switch now and deal with the fallout. It’s not like any of your current guys are that great with a 3-4. if the organizations strategy aligns closer to a 4-3 then switch now.
