You have to take into account fitt can’t draft for poo and most prized free agents wouldn’t touch this franchise with a ten foot pole. Hope I’m wrong but we’ll see

Still situation isn't as hopeless as some seem to think. Fitt might get it right, the new coaches might actually make a difference in the drafting, and money talks in FA.

There were legit reasons to take Bryce number one. If he develops, the rest of it can be worked out.

He’ll never get the help he needs because Carolina has no picks to go get playmakers. He’ll be throwing to thielen and Mingo for the next 2 years

Panthers have 60 mil in cap room for 2024, and 6 picks, including a 2nd and 3rd rounder, which, if the team is as bad many expect it to be, will be, essentially, a late 1st and a late 2nd rounder. Yeah, no first rounder sucks, but, still a lot of talent can be added.

There was a lot of speculation that the Falcons would trade up for a QB, especially before the Panthers traded up. I was opposed any  trade up and particularly to drafting Young, just because I don't think he can take the hits an NFL QB gets during a season. Early returns aren't great, but you can say that about almost every rookie QB that takes the field. Way too early to say what will happen in the next two-three years.

please explain the one handed sack then

Happens to every QB in the NFL. I'm sure it happened to Cam. There's strong mofos on every defense. If the QB is off balance, a good DE can knock him down with one hand.

In this particular case, I think it's Bryce still underestimating the speed and power of NFL defensive players, If Bryce shifts a half second earlier, he doesn't go down. He'll learn.

There's a new HC, OC, QB, plus several other new players on offense. As bad as it looked first two games, it should get better over the season. Probably not translating into too many wins this year, but by the end of the year, you'll probably feel better about your QB.

I HOPE so but I don't see any evidence of this. I haven't seen any of this super processing, elite cerebral QB play so far. I've just seen a guy who looks wholly physically outmatched at the NFL level. Has he audibled into an effective play yet? He keeps throwing late across the middle. He got so rattled last night he lined up behind the RG.

I truly hope it's just growing pains but it's harder to believe with a guy who has physical limitations but was supposed to be mentally ideal.

Let's all be honest for just a second. If a division rival had made this trade for a guy who had looked like Bryce has through two games we would all be ROLLING laughing.

As a fan of a division rival, this is exactly true. Hasn't been great his first couple of starts, hardly means Bryce is a bust, he may have a long and successful career ,but yeah, we've been laughing about his play so far.

    Yes it does make sense...

No they hadn't made a decision before they traded up...

No they didn't trade up with just one guy in mind...

It might wind up being Young but that decision isn't made yet...

Actually reading what's been written by people with access to the team would greatly assist you in not getting so many things wrong.

They traded to one to get their pick of the QBs, not because they'd decided which one that was yet.

As a Falcons fan, I'm hoping for Richardson at 1, with the Panthers trying to duplicate their success with Cam or Buffalo's success with Allen.

Young is a pretty close second, he's not playing at 200, he's probably closer to 185. The shorter QBs that have succeeded were stout-Russell Wilson is 215 LB at 5'10" or from a different era of football.  I wouldn't draft him because I don't think his body can take the beating the NFL will give him.

Young, whoever drafts him,  would be well advised to go talk to Warrick Dunn, who was smaller than Young and played 12 years as a RB in the league. Dunn had an incredible routine of diet, massage and physical therapy that cost 6 figures every year to keep him healthy as a small man in the NFL.

    Carolina 24. Falcons 21

sometimes, belief makes good things happen

I go back to the Giants team that finished 9 and 7 and took out the unbeaten patriots

of course belief is not enough but I really think this team is starting to know who they are , who they have always been

I have always liked Marcus but he can be a turn over machine as can PJ but the real wildcard in this game is

         cordarrelle Patterson

if he plays, they are a different team

You're in luck then, Patterson is on IR and can't return until game 9.

I'm thinking the Falcons win at home.
