  1. The problem with designating a guy a post June 1st cut is that money does not come off the team cap until after June 1st. So it really does not help you in free agency this year. It gives you a lot more flexability knowing that June 2nd you get an extra 10, 12 14 million in cap room so you can go all the up to the cap and still have room to sign rookies and a couple of free agents still left. But most of the guys that are available then are JAG and not really worth much more that the min.
  2. When your head coach is or has been an OC, as is the case for both Reid and Arians, how much blame/praise do you give to the OC of that team? Knowing they are running their head coaches offense and running it the way the head coach wants it run in most cases. That is always what I believe GM's and owners think about Bieniemy.
  3. Depending on where you look, Spotrac or OTC, we have somewhere around 6 or 7 million in cap room and they are using 175 million number. So this will take us somewhere in the 12 - 15 million under the cap kind of area. It's not great but it's not terrible either. Hey at least we are not the Saints.
  4. This offense is largely the same as it was last year. Just change Winston for TB and add Gronk and Fornette. The defense, that has been good against the run for like 3 years now, just got better in coverage with Winfield. For the most part this is the same team as 2019. The only thing that really changed is Brady.
  5. Just going to put this here. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1358454929237630976
  6. I hate to say it but I miss the smack forum with Alice sometimes.
  7. Either 87 or 88 and they played either the Pacers or the Jazz. I remember Malone having 50 something in one game and 32 or something at the half.
  8. I remember Jaws telling stories about Vermeil's practice. Would be like 4 hours long and just brutal. Faulk talking about a joint practice the Rams had with another team once and they finished the joint practice and the other team went back to their lockers and the Rams stayed out on the field and practiced for like another hour. Everyone just things of Vermeil as the coach that cries about everything, but he was a very tough coach.
  9. The problem with Mahomes contract isn't this year or even next year. It's when those 30 and 40 million roster bonuses start coming. You could convert all of it to signing bonuses and spread it out over 5 years but after 2 or three of those his cap hit is going to be 50 million plus each year. When you have 1 guy taking up at least 20% of the cap for 4 or 5 straight years it's hard to field any kind of competitive team. But by that time Andy might be retired and the front office might not even be there. So they will let the other guys figure it out then.
  10. There is a place I go and do work for in South Carolina. It's a manufacturing plant. A guy there has been running a NFL pool there for at least as long as I have been going there. So 12 years. Maybe longer. The stakes have always remained the same. $20 to get in and the winner gets the whole pot. It only runs during the regular season, so 17 weeks and these guys don't make $50,000 a year. I won't say much less, but less. The pool has had anywhere from 30 to 50 people in it at one time or another and the winner takes the whole pot each week. The point is, it's not just NFL players that do this kind of stuff every week it's all kind of people and none of them are going broke from it.
  11. The Dolphins make so much sense in every way it's almost like a match that is too perfect to happen. They have 2 first round picks this year and Houston has none. They have a young quaterback they could send back in return. Great weather, no state income tax (when you make as much as Watson that becomes a big deal), and you only have the Bills to deal with in there division at least for now. They have a good young defense and lots of extra picks in the next 2 years to either send to Houston or add to the offense to help Watson. It's almost so good it could not happen. I said almost.
  12. I think they have said they will be going to a 17 game season in 2021 so if we go 9-7 we missed a game somewhere.
  13. On your prospect meeting by position thread under CB you have listed Zack Snyder.  It's Zack Sanchaz from Oklahoma.

    1. Ken

      Ken

      fixed. thx.

  14. We sign UDFA Gary Peters last year after the draft. He was from Clemson.
  15. No offense to Luke or Josh but Jeremy is right. That should be the only time anyone ever says that on the board. No matter how good a LB, that is not a pass rusher, or a DB is they can only have so much impact on a game. If you throw the ball to the other side of the field Josh has no impact on that play, he is covering his guy and keeping the throw from coming his way but if it was designed to go the other way anyway he cant stop it. If you throw the ball outside the numbers, short or deep Luke cant have an effect on the play. He can tackle the guy after he catches it but unless he is in man coverage he is going to be in the middle of the field and unless he has a 1/2 second 30 yard dash he cant get there. A defensive lineman can effect every play he is on the field. If the ball is run at him he can stop it. If the ball is run away from him he can chase it down from behind. If its a screen he can knock the pass down or tackle the back before he gets started. If its a quick pass he can either push the lineman back into the quaterback and disrupt the throw or knock the pass now. Or, of course he can sack the quarterback. That's why everyone refers the JJ Watt as the best defensive player in the NFL. He just impacts the game more than Luke or anyone else can except another defensive lineman. KK has had the same kind of impact on our defensive as JJ Watt has for the Houston defensive. So I would have to agree with Jeremy this time. Damnit
  16. Injuries in the preseason games between now and the start of the season is going to change this list a lot.
  17. I can't remember a year when the Panthers kept 10 O-linemen. I remember, under Fox 1 year, they kept 10 D-lineman but never 10 O-lineman. 9 seems to be the max for most teams and some teams only keep 8 with all the extra room teams have now on the practice squad. So I am not saying it won't happen but the likelihood of it happening seems low.
  18. When you drive off the edge of the mountains, because you know it has happened, do they plant a cross, or whatever their religious item is, or do they just laugh at you for being stupid enough to drive in the mountains at night? Just wondering.
  19. I like Corey, Philly, whatever you want to call him, I do. But Jeremy, you get up to early in the morning.
  20. If Luke gets paid what JJ Watt got paid my "Gettleman for President" campaign will come to a sudden stop. LB's that don't get sacks don't make anywhere near that much money. Willis was then highest paid non-pass rushing LB before he retired at just over 10 million a year. Luke might get to 12 million, at the most. Anything over that he should kiss is agents ass and help adjust Dave's shorts before every practice. He will probably get somewhere in the 11 million range but that's just a guess.
  21. Are you doing this just for the people who say "Cam is not worth 100 million"?
