Die on this hill if you want.....but I wholeheartedly disagree with about 95% of what you're preaching. I'm perfectly fine agreeing to disagree.
-
You're saying you'd rather see us lose while showing improvements vs. win games....that's not the goal nor the recipe for contending faster. If it were, we'd have won the damn Superbowl by now.....come on.
-
Let me clear things up for you: 1.) I enjoy every win....regardless of circumstances. 2.) I've already conceded we have plenty of issues to solve in a previous post. I have zero issues seeing that. 3.) Fans are allowed to join a win.
-
This is the exact message I've been trying to get through to some on here that are simply insufferable. Well said.

Yes, of course I want the team to be competitive week in and out. In what world does being happy about our team winning a game = completely giving up on the franchise? That makes no sense.
-
We didn't get a "moral victory". We got an actual victory.

Completely feel you on the perfectionist angle b/c I'm the same way here. However, I only let that bother me when it pertains to things within my direct control. I've been a big sports fan my entire life, but several years back, I came to the realization that if your team loses and it completely ruins your day....well that's just not worth it. Now, apparently we have people who are pissed off even after we win a game! That's just laughable to me and tells me they're too focused and invested in things they cannot control. I want the Panthers to win too....which they haven't done much in recent years, so I'm going to take the opportunity to enjoy it. Being a glass half empty type of person will never do you any favors.

It's less about sweeping negatives under the rug and more about allowing yourself to be happy and enjoy a win. And complete transparency here, I've been speaking on the mentality that a fan should have. Now if you're actually employed by the organization, in any capacity, you better be looking at all your problems and constantly striving to improve. That should go without saying. When fans are salty after a 17 point comeback win and a 200+ yard rusher...those folks just won't ever be happy.
-
We won the game man..."flawed" wins still count the same as "perfect" wins no? If you've reached a point of preferring the team to lose vs. win.....as long as what you saw on the field constitutes 'improvement' in your mind....that's a problem. It likely means your happiness and well being is a bit too intertwined with a game that you have zero control over. Just not healthy, but hey that's just my take. I'll acknowledge that everyone's perception is their own reality and you're entitled to your opinions. I just personally choose to focus on positives. Being down 17-0 and coming back to win shouldn't be downplayed. That isn't an easy thing to do in the NFL. It can really boost the morale of a locker room.

Being a fan should be fun....we haven't had much fun in recent years....so why not just enjoy the team winning a damn game? Complaint threads after wins are weak....I'm just thrilled with every win we manage to secure, regardless of how we got it. Do we still have a ton of problems, yes we do. But the OP just seems to be digging a little too hard to find reasons to still be upset after a win. You'll be happier as a human being if you can just allow yourself to enjoy wins without dissecting them for deficiencies.

Ochocinco offers an Apology to the Team and to Panthers Fans
dpm0409 replied to Butterflyj30's topic in Carolina Panthers
A narcissist eating crow kind of speaks volumes though. Idgaf would ochocinco thinks btw, but can definitely agree it's refreshing to hear any talking head say something like that. -
Cut...according to this projection anyhow.

Not sure if others agree, but IMO, it doesn't seem like all his teammates are 'blowing smoke' when they say all these positive things about BY. It really does seem sincere, which is extremely encouraging.

More than anything, the underlying point or takeaway from my post is: We might have a special one on our hands here. It's already more than apparent he's highly intelligent and motivated.

Wouldn't be shocked to hear that he went through a similar exercise with other potential landing spots as well. Pretty cool.
