  1. I dont understand the notion of just give on somethign bc you arent perfect at it. This kid is getting so much experience week to week by being put in these situations. This is the poo that other rookie QBs dont do their first year, and start their second year in a system. The whole point of Bryce being what he was evltuated at pre-draft was that you can run these systems out the get go to speed up their development. Expecting perfection from a rookie is unfair to the mental health of the expectant. These are growing pains.
  2. How does a player who completes almops 80% of his passes look lost? Are you just saying it by his actual look?
  3. I disagree, if our offense is designed around reading the defense at the LOS (like the Rams, SF, TB12, and MIA) then that is what we are running. Asking for our QB to stop changing the play bc we dont want to hear "kill kill kill" so much is laughable. They are probably simple signals which is why we heard it often. We could have been running a two place system (hence the long huddles), where if the safety was in the box we kill. It's not very complex.
  4. I am not sure where I brought up YPC as the measurement to success? The measurement of success for a QB will always be TD:INT and QBR.
  5. well it doesnt read that way. You could have easily just said ... "You are doing the math for average yards per attempt. His yards per completion was 10.6"
  6. he was killing plays based on the alignment of the defense and potential pressure points. Why would we knock at QB for this? We used to bitch about our QB not having freedom at the line to change plays.
  7. Why not let him know that instead of the approach you took? Assume positive intent man.
  8. I used to argue the air yards... but then Mahomes, Purdy Tom Brady, Burrow and Tua changed my mind. We are running an offense that's built on getting the ball into the playmakers hands as quick as possible... unfrotuantely we dont have that type of playmaker... Maybe if Mingo played today instead of TMJ we would have seen it.
  9. the RBs only had 5 catches today... one of those was a designed pass play to the back
  10. Totally agree here. Great post @AceBoogie. The problem this forum is struggling with right now is that we are comparing Bryce to the other QBs in the draft as if the situations are identical. Bryce played very well today and had some blunders. He executed the game plan he was given and played as well as he could given the situation today. I mean if you think about it... we had poor oline play, yet another drivekilling (game killing?) penalty, questionable play calling and poor YAC. The kid dished it out fo 9 different receivers today, and the majority went to AT and TMJ. The fumble was a back breaker for sure, and that sucked. At one point BY had 19 straight completions (17 in the 2nd half) at 8.6 ypc... cmon! Now the hard part.... BY does have to understand situations better like exiting the pocket sooner, throwing the ball away and PROTECTING the football. I am also ready for Reich to handover the play calling... it's impacting his ability to coach on game days. The clock management and cadence of playcalling is off right now... and some of that falls on the QB... but considering the situation this 100% falls on Reich. Lastly, I think we need to do some internal evaluations on Campen.... three different teams today were down to backups on their lines and 2 of them didnt allow a sack. One of those teams was the Texans against the Steelers vaunted pass rush.... I'd like for us to evaluate whether Campen is the right guy.. Esepcially with Ickey's sophmore slump....
  11. i think he is showing what it takes to be a solid sunday starter. The weapons he has around them are the best the Commanders have seen in decades. They did a good jjob of loading up that offense
  12. haha yeah.... It's somewhere on this forum around draft time.... maybe March? I was talking about Texans were going to be in good shape now that Nico will finally get a QB. There is a paper trail, if you doubt me feel free to look it up.
  13. I disagree, but we dont need to go into a debate on this one.
  14. hell no he isnt.. lol. The list of bad FAs is long and Miles is not on it. We also wont know if Miles should be on until the end of the season.
  15. All I am saying is the Texans are not as bad as everyone is portraying them to be. Even Nico is busting out as a premiere reciever as I called before the season started.
  16. i thought that was impresssive he was 18 for 18 at 8.6 yards per throw
  17. we went for it on 4th down... what are you even going on about?
  18. Bryce has not thrown an incompletion this entire half....
