I feel absolutely great about either Young or Stroud and can't wait to hear which one it is on draft day...if it's going to be one of those two, which it seems it will be. If it's Richardson...i'll be surprised and i'll find a way to be excited about the future. if it's Levis.... i don't know. i'm at best unenthusiastic about him and feel like if i hear his name called it will bring about an even bigger "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" from me than hearing Clausen's name did a decade ago. then i'd do what i did with clausen and try to be optimistic.

But he did mention 2-3 years experience, which AR doesn't have. That's what rules AR out, it's the lack of experience.

I can't remember specifically but I think that was part of it. -
Adam Thielen interview with Pat MaCafee...
rayzor replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
i think initially there were a lot of people that bought Rhule's BS, but it didn't take much time before everyone started seeing it as just that...unless they were with him in college. they drank the koolaid early. -
Adam Thielen interview with Pat MaCafee...

i could see that. that's kind of what Fitt was saying Reich was talking to Thielen about. it wasn't "we want you here because you catch balls." It was "we want you here because we think that you would bring a lot to this locker room and in the building of this team." they valued him more than just being a pass catching commodity. i think we'll be seeing a lot of that kind of thing happening. that reputation for valuing the player and not just the game is going to spread. -
i can't remember when i started. '04 maybe? there's still a good few around who were here before i was.

i don't think they are forcing themselves to do anything. i think they had a clear idea of what they wanted early on and just as a natural progression started paring down on those traits and honing in on what they want and it's coming down to basically these two guys. we really shouldn't be surprised if they make up their mine soon, assuming they don't already know (in their collective gut) who it is already.

Texan's offered Bears 2024 First Round pick to move up to #1.
rayzor replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
true. lol i goofed and posted that in the wrong thread, but it works here too. -
interesting...he says don't read anything into this discussion going on that Reich only works with big QBs.

if you are pulling more for Young to be the pick, then Fitt's answers sounded like he was pointing to Young. If you're pulling for Stroud more....you listen to Fitt's answers and think, "he could be talking about either one." But i don't think you can listen to his answers and think that he's specifically talking about Stroud and you definitely can't listen to it and think he's talking about AR.

Why Bryce young will be the pick and we should be excited
rayzor replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilson was lucky. Young is good. -
I think there is more discussion for AR than Levis. If I had to rank them it would be Stroud/Young (who is in front depends on the day) Richardson Levis. I think they are excited about the prospect of AR and would love to have a workable plan for him, but he's behind Young and Stroud.

We have had a good few posters with legit inside info from time to time. We've had former players who have joined and posted and we've had people within the org who have joined but never posted. We have had several members who, under previous regimes, we're in the building quite a bit and/or we're in contact with people either employed by the Panthers or because of their work were inside the building a lot. I know I have had info passed on to me in here about things that were going to happen. Sometimes right before it happened. Most of that shut down during the Rhule era. I'm hoping that it comes back, though. I think it's starting to because I'm already hearing a little bit myself. I usually keep whatever tidbits I hear to myself though, because it's not my story to tell. I will say that, as much as I don't like it, there is no consensus inside the building yet for who will be the #1 pick. Young has a camp and Stroud has a camp and both camps have a lot of pull. Weight seems to be fluctuating between the two depending on the day it seems. Personally I don't care which of the two it is. I think both are going to be studs.... depending on the landing spot and situation.

But how can you quantifiably say that Young is superior? It's all subjective. I'm not knocking Young. I think their approach to the game is just different, but both have the potential to be elite. And I haven't seen anything in Stroud's performance to lead me to believe that even with tougher competition and with less talent around him that he couldn't do just as well, in fact that is exactly what happened against GA. I'm leaning towards Stroud, but I would be thrilled with either one and think that with either one we'd rule the NFCS right out of the gate.
