  1. Yeah, that's not exactly what I would call a great search committee. It needs to be outsourced.
  2. Both the Rhule and Meyer experiments need to be over.
  3. sorry...wasn't suggesting him or the one man search team. it just made me think about him. hadn't thought about him in a long time. hire a guy from a team and expect him to not suggest someone he's worked with recently?
  4. he's been reading walter football so that pretty much makes him an expert in the draft and personnel decisions. if they say his arms are too short...they're just too short. who is he to argue with dem experts?
  5. yep. probably the reason it should be a committee instead of a singular advisor.
  6. Even at that....1"? There's only a couple instances where 1" matters and this ain't one of them. It's just some metric that someone pulled out of their arse and all the monkeys started copying it.
  7. Analytics is not a substitute for wise decision making. It's a tool to help make decisions, not the thing by which you should be making decisions, you big dummy.
  8. We're getting older. I think I've only got another 20 years of knowing what day it is. I'd like for us to get at least one ring before I stop being able to tell a hummingbird from a popsicle. We haven't even had back to back winning seasons in 25 or whatever many years it's been. Asking for a coach that can make us long term consistent winners might be a bit too much to ask for. One ring followed by mediocrity or consistent winners who always have a chance but never quite get there. Which would you choose if you can't have both?
  9. That's the ideal. The other is an easier and more realistic option. considering the poo that we've had to deal with for so long, I'll take it and grin. I want to get a ring before ATL and before the saints get another and I'll take whatever we can get to make that happen.
  10. i just know i was pretty hostile to rivera back then. i wanted him GONE and i was pretty adamant about it. with rhule...i'm more apathetic about it. i want him gone, but i'm also resigned to the idea that he's probably going to be here next year and we're probably going to suck again and my reaction to that is... i mean i just don't really care that much anymore.
  11. going all out on OL this offseason should be the #1 priority no matter who is coach. i wouldn't have a problem with tomlin at all. i just want a hard-nosed guy that just gets the job done and has proven to get the job done at a high level. i don't actually care if he's been a HC before, but considering the mess we have it might be good to have some experience doing the job.
  12. tbh, i don't really care about long term. if he can get us a ring i don't care how long he's here.
  13. Playoffs or layoffs coming. One or the other. Might not fire Rhule while the season is going but if he's going to do it, it will be after our last game.
  14. Armstead has to be priority #1. Followed by whoever the best FA center is, then Norwell or someone of that caliber. Basically quit fuggin around get that OL fixed for real. Throw as much money as you can at it to get the best possible OL.
  15. I hope you're right. Pick trading still makes me nervous because of Hurney. I don't want to create a deficit in '23 because we screwed '22 up.
  16. Take a look at our 2022 draft picks, this OL, and this QB situation and think to yourself, "how desperate for an HC job does a guy have to be to want to step into this clusterfug?" I don't care how much money you throw at someone, no one's gonna want this poo. Also, if they are that desperate, do we really want them?
  17. i'd say it wasn't as much an issue. he inherited a pretty good one to start with but he kept plugging in decent players as needed. it was at least a priority.
