yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories. i just want to get out of it afterwards.

that said...i do like going camping in the snow. one of the greatest sleeps i ever had was in my hammock with a tarp over it and it snowed 13" that night. it's been a few years, but just the sound of the snow hitting the tarp and then waking up surrounded by it was incredible roughest one i had was setting up a new 4 season tent i had just bought and setting it up in the back yard because it was going to be snowing. About 2am i woke up and the roof of the tent was just a couple inches from my face so i tunneled out and walked through the snow to the house. we got 20+" that night. i think that was 1991 or something like that.

yikes. no thanks. i love snow. not that much.

Serious Thoughts Fellas What numbers would Bryce..
rayzor replied to trucpfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
i have a very small sliver of hope that he might be trending that direction, but no way would i look ahead into the offseason thinking that he should be the guy we go into next season with. i haven't seen nearly enough and i seriously doubt we will get close to that point. -
i think i could handle that for a year. beyond that....i don't know. back where we lived, when we had a few inches of snow, it might have been a couple feet because we weren't getting out and doing anything. i remember times where power would go out for days on end. we had propane and electric heat, depending on the floor. basement (had a couple bedrooms and a living room and kitchen down there) and main floor had gas logs. main floor gas logs was enough to take care of the upstairs, so we could stay warm and cook on the grill when we needed. we had a well so that was always an issue when the power went out. had to make sure tubs were filled with water for the toilets and we had gallons of water for drinking and cooking available. always had to make sure we were ready. that wasn't always the case. we had a couple moments where we were going through propane quickly and because we were dealing with the worst propane company in the world (amerigas) they wouldn't get out to put gas in our 900 gallon tank. made for some nerve racking moments. i know y'all were probably a lot more able to handle that kind of thing, but after the little bit (comparatively) that we got here i just have no desire to get trapped again. maybe for a day or two a year get snowed in and i'm good.

We finally get to see Brooks this week
rayzor replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era. but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now. -
been living in town since March of last year after spending 15+ years out on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Snow was beautiful out there, but always meant a lot of work dealing with the long driveway and long dirt road out and onto paved roads that were the last in the county to get plowed. On normal days it always took 20 minutes to get anywhere. when it snowed...yeah. forget about it for a couple days. still had to go to work, so i'd have to drive on all these narrow and windy snow covered backroads after dealing with my driveway and putting up with the nasty red mud slush on the dirt road. if there was an emergency or some kind of urgent issue that required you having someone drive in or going out, it was just a major stressor. anyways, i'm just looking forward to snow in the new house in town, where my driveway is really short and the roads are plowed. i want snow that requires no work or stress on me. most people probably love the idea of being snowed in out in the country. been there. done that. i'm looking forward to snow coming in town and being able to get out and about if i need. hopefully we have some this year.

it's not about the numbers. not even necessarily about the wins. it's what i can see. i want to see a guy back there that is confident, composed, and in command of the offense....or at least obviously growing in these ways. I want to see chemistry increasing between him and his line, his RBs, and his pass catchers. i also want to see confidence in BY coming from his teammates. and of course i want to see that ball move down the field and get into the endzone more often. he needs to be taking advantage of every opportunity and even creating some when things fall apart. -

i'm going ooal. 12 carries, 75 yards (i see him breaking of for a big one), and a TD 5 catches, 25 yards yes....100 all purpose yards and a TD. and that's just getting him started. -

baby steps. i don't think it will take very much, though. it was encouraging to hear some of the other players talking about Brooks and how they are excited to see him in the game. Apparently they like what they have been seeing in practice. XL was saying that he and Chuba are pretty similar, but Brooks is faster. i don't think they've ever said anything good about Miles. -

i think we'll get it back. it will be different, but still very good. get us back to the type game we should have always been playing. -
Such a great list of players all the way through. So many favorites of mine. But yeah.....lots of great WRs in there as well. Tough choices.

Cam will be on a reality show, airing in January
rayzor replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't remember what he did with the news, but I think he was just lonely, but lonely because he was really weird. He'd start threads in the main panthers forum like "who was your favorite golden girl?" Seriously, talking about the TV show. Might not have been that one but it was random stuff like that. I'd tell him 1) that's just weird and 2) Panthers forum. Need to be panthers related. So he start a thread asking something like "so who do you think Jordon Gross' favorite golden girl was?" He'd get upset and he'd just do the weirdest spamming I ever saw in here. You'd ban him and he would play the whole "I'll just create another account" game so I'd sit there and delete them while I was watching TV. One of those clowns who would create 20 something accounts in an evening. (We've got a couple of those type bozos in here right now, actually) Anyway, that guy was just psycho. And then there was that nut that would post pics of turds in his toilet. He'd start off normal enough (I always knew it was him) but then he'd freak out and take a pic in his filthy bathroom of whatever turd he just laid in there. -

we've had some real psychos in here. one guy used to work for some news station in the charlotte area. i mean that guy went absolutely nuts. -
whoever is QB will have a great line in front of them. the chemistry there already is all you could want.

Icky needs to stay at LT. Brady is the moving piece we need to bounce all over. keep him doing that and keep Mays at center. you need to keep BC free to move around.
