I actually agree with everything you stated.

He is projected anywhere from rounds 1 all the way to 3.
I don't think Gettleman spends a first on a guy like that because of need. He would much rather trust his scouts and find another Bene in middle rounds.
That's fair. I hope you're right, but Hell, all of us didn't see him making that risky decision last evening. So who knows?

Because a virginia television news station says so.
You aren't good at this.
Na, I just think he'll be overvalued.
Teams are corner needy.

He isn't a first rounder on the Panthers radar. If he was selected it would be a reach over guys they like in the first round.
Pipe down or you are deleted, junior.
Well, then say he's not on the Panthers radar in the first round. Don't say he's not a first round pick, when clearly, some team will take him in the first.
And it's not that serious man, somebody needs to take you down from your high horse on occasion.

Maybe Fuller in the second.
Gettleman will not pass up on a first round talent he likes for a second round corner.
You do know Fuller is predicted to go in the first right?

Sigh, and you want to revoke my thread making privileges for your lack of knowledge? SMH.

Nobody we take at our spot is starting over KB, Funches, and Ginn.
The chance of taking a receiver after taking on in 1st and 2nd the past two years is going to be very low.
I wouldn't mind a corner. We'll need one after Norman is gone next year.

Larry Csonka, for one, gets a check mark for height, weight, and worth it.
He was a fullback..............

Calling Fournette an obvious 1st round pick while saying that Henry doesn't have the talent to be one is a bit amusing given their head to head matchup
I don't recall anyone calling Henry the next AP. While Fournette was being called that all year long in college. But thank you.

Sit tight at 30. See who is there and who is left. Move up to early 2nd and grab another top panther-ranked player. I could see us going DE and Hunter Henry. Then target secondary and DT with whatever picks we have left. I think this strategy aligns BPA with our needs and the values of the players in the draft. We know G-man has an eye for linemen. I think he gets off on knowing he can find value in the later rounds and with UDFAs.
This, I like this.

Also Dalvin Cook. He might end up as the best of them all.
Then there is Christian McCaffrey who could maybe stay in school but is ridiculous.
Next years RB class is insane.
Damn, how could I forget about Cook and McCaffrey. Both are Heisman candidates.

Chubb is a beast, if he stays healthy he will be a feature back in the NFL.
All those guys will be beast in my opinion.

Do you realize that telling us you know better than Gettleman is absolutely hilarious?
When it comes to RB's is picking one in the first round that isn't a guarantee a horrible thing to do?
Isn't this common sense in today's NFL? I mean, I don't know more than Gettlemen when it comes to football. But common sense should be common, right?
-
Now, if Henry is picked in the 2nd round. I'm okay with that. I just wouldn't use a first rounder on a guy that ran 40+ times a damn game this past year at Bama.

This quote will be my new signature if DH is the pick.
Don't worry, when he starts sucking ass. You'll be sure to take that poo out of your sig in a heartbeat.
Name an RB that turned out to be worth a first round pick that was 6'3+ and 230+. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Here's my simple argument against D. Henry
If big RB's are so great- why haven't there been more?
Are you willing to bet that Henry is the exception instead of the rule?
Here's a simple fact. If you spend a first round pick on anybody not named Adrian Peterson, Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, or Samaje Perine at the RB position. You probably need to rethink your skills as a GM.

I'm secretly hoping they pass on Derrick Henry if he's there as t 30. I still think he'd be a great pick, but looking at the running back class for next year I think the class is so much deeper that the value would be much greater (particularly those power/Jstew type backs).
This is my thing as well. Next years RB class is fuging stacked. Fournette, Chubb, Perine, just to name a few. Derrick Henry will be the first pick in the Gettlemen era that I will say "yeah, even I could've done better than that."

If we pick a DT in the first round, I know exactly what they're doing next offseason, and that's not signing Star to a long term contract.
-
Shepard would be a Hell of a pick. Great work ethic, never dropped a ball it felt like at OU. And is a Hell of a locker room guy. Perfect fit for the Panthers.

Is a great asset and a need not the same thing? Not saying it was an immediate need, saying it was a luxury need, I mean we are kinda stacked lol.
No, it's not the same thing at all. It's like when the Browns picked Tim Couch, or Johnny Manziel. It's a position of need over other players being better that they could've picked. Shaq was a luxury pick.

When he did see playing time he balled tho and now he's got a year under his belt.
I think you're missing the point. Drafting him was not a position of need which Igo stated he was. It was a future pick. In essence, Thomas Davis announced his eventual replacement in the draft. Not a "position of need" pick by any means.

Cool, thanks for the discussion.
So, we drafted a guy at a "position of need" and he barley played? That is the opposite of position of need.

Colin Jones get a lot of playing time last year?
Buffalo nickel was used a ton in 2014 because the Panthers did not have a fast enough linebacker opposite thomas davis to cover more athletic tight ends. Colin Jones ended up doing it.
Did Shaq cover tight ends this year? How did he do?
If he did, it wasn't often. Hell, they had Roman Harper on TE's this year sometimes, and they started Colin Jones over him after Bene went out for a bit. So, since you asked the question, how about you tell me................

You aren't thinking it through.
I'm pretty sure I am. You said a position of need, and he didn't play at that "position of need" many minutes at all last year. If it's a position of need, don't you think he would've played there a lot?
-
I've always thought he would go DE, unless they all are taken by then. I'm not changing my stance. You're reaching with this one. But, it's the off season. So, need something to talk about. I understand.
