Reminds me of a less corny Russel Wilson.

If I’m making the pick, I don’t want any of the QBs at 6. Even in a trade down I would prefer Linderbaum.

Fit (Rhule’s yes man) hasn’t made many good decisions since he got here.
Fit has no power. His current role is essentially a scouting manager. He has relationships in the NFL that make trades possible, and Rhule decides how to use those relationships.

I would take the Rams Center and almost any of the guards on the list. Let Brown stick at RG, draft a LT and let Brady battle it out at LT with the rookie.

Unfortunately us fans have to pay by watching Darnold play terribly next year. Feel like fans are just as screwed.
Looks like another 18 weeks of heavy day drinking.- 4

Yep Rhule made his bed with the Darnold trade now let him lie in it.
Like it or not, talent evaluation and player development are part of being a head coach. If you’re poor at both then you’re not qualified for the job.

The help isn't always taken, but when offered most people know, they telling they are covering themselves by saying, we offered them help, "before we fired him. (pretty much get your ish together).
Right but this was after they fired him. That offer wasn’t made in season when he was still on the team. -

Wouldn't that have been a good thing?
I agree that he needs help with his mental health, but this seems like a smart but messed up tactic from the bucs.
They’re trying to discredit him in case he files a wrongful termination lawsuit.

If someone wants to trade up to 6 for a QB, we should probably just take the QB.
I wouldn’t want to put a rookie behind this line as it stands now.Let Sam earn the $18 million, build the line as much as possible, and take a QB with the high draft pick next year.

Minnesota and Cleveland seem like the most realistic options since there are QB needy teams currently drafting in front of them.
I wouldn’t want to do it for less than a 2nd and 3rd, or a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year.

What I want is to run it back and take it on the chin for one more season while building the O line.
What tepper wants is Watson and asses in the seats.
Rhule probably wants is Pickett.
Fits probably wants to separate himself from the decision because I think next season is going to be rough no matter which way we go.

After listening to Fits presser it's pretty clear that Pickett has already been discussed.

I made this point the other night on Twitter. In retaining Matt, what is your strategic edge? Even if you land Watson. Even if you hire a couple of competent veteran coaches to run the OL and call plays. Even after all of that, does Matt become better at what he does at his core? The win total likely improves, but to those who feel he’s overmatched on the NFL level, I’m sure they would argue that the root problem still hasn’t been dealt with.
I want to preface this by saying that I don't like Matt Rhule as an NFL coach and i want him fired asap.
But, if the panthers were to hire an OC, an OL coach and someone on the defensive staff all with solid NFL experience (hopefully HC experience), I think Rhule could become a competent coach.
I do think it would take until year 5 or 6 of his contract though.

The players look underprepared and uninterested.
The personnel decisions have been awful.
The lack of NFL experience is glaring. Of course that's only fixed by gaining more experience, but fans don't want to watch 5 years (or however long it takes) of losing for Rhule to figure it out.
At least 1 of his coordinators should have been NFL coaching veterans, preferably with some head coaching experience.

Any coach you hire is gonna do that.
You just have to pick someone with better buddies.
On that note, what names do you think Daboll would bring along with him if he was hired as HC?

It was on the final play. Guess who?

I swear, this place is filled with the most miserable people I’ve ever seen. Rhule has been successful everywhere he’s ever been. He will be successful here too unless you crazies get your way.
I'm generally optimistic too, but it is a little concerning that he has no answers for any of the losses.
"Credit to the other team" and "They haven't shown that on tape before" just make it look like he has no plan.
The lack of in game/halftime adjustments also make it seem like he's in over his head.

I'm referring to the coaching blunders during the Rivera years.
The playoff appearances were almost in spite of the coaching.

Is this supposed to be a positive? I dont think anyone wants to re-live the Rivera years.

He played decent but the incompetence from the offense as a whole overshowed it.
Really, you think he played decent? Are you a friend or relative?

I just... I think back to this game today. I think about the missed passes that killed drives. Protection was alright today. I'm not saying he's the next McVay, but I just don't think the offense is much of his fault right now. By far the biggest issue is this QB play.
The protection was dogshit. Christensen and Daley couldn't block semen with a contraceptive.
