Be hard to match the production of DJ Johnson . . .

He's getting long in the tooth - maybe we could invest another draft pick on a future long snapper . . .
-
Means we were not bad because we lost good players . . .

How will we replace his 18 catches and 184 yards?

I would trade our last 4 first round picks (all cosen in top 10) for the four you mention, who were chosen in the top 45.

Mad Dog is even worse than Stephen A.
At least Stephen A calls out the delusional "America's Team" bandwagon gang. But, I'll concede that listening to his grating and obnoxious voice on everything else is a chore.

We can't be anywhere near the middle of the pack - our owner swore off mediocrity. Unfortunately, he was foretelling wretchedness rather than excellence.

It's an all out effort to raise his "D" grade to a D+

I can't tell if the ref in the tie-dye that shirt that keeps moving around them is Icky getting beat or Burns running another lap around a QB. . .
NVM - I see him helping up the guy who went down - Icky had more "help up the guy I got knocked down" than anyone in recent memory

Scott Fitterer genuinely had one of the worst tenures for a GM in NFL history, Rhule or no Rhule.
Luckily, we were able to sign his right hand man to steer us into the future.
Hopefully, Morgan will be to Fitterer what Wilks was to Rhule.

Saw where he thanked Bucs and would be pulling for them 15 weeks out of the season.
Soooooo , , , if we are in the final weeks of a season and have already played the Bucs twice but are a game behind for division title - he'd be pulling for Bucs to win and stay ahead of us????

I would buy a ticket to one of the weekly meetings Tepper would have with him so Bill could glean from the owner's vast football knowledge.

The best case scenario we could find out about Morgan would be if he spoke against a generationally small pick at #1, banged the drum for Tank Dell in the second round, and his blood pressure skyrocketed to stroke levels when they picked DJ Johnson (much less traded up).
Worst case, and probably more likely is Tepper knows he can use Morgan as his yes man/fall guy while he and Nicole continue to play house.

The Lions had an ownership change of sorts in 2020 when Sheila Hamp Ford took over from her mother. She came in with a clear plan to turn the franchise around. What do we have here?
We have Nicole Tepper, elite talent evaaluator.

This is Johnny having Bobby ask Sally if she'll go to the Jr. High dance if Bobby would actually ask her.
Good to know billionaires aren't exempt from insecurity.

I think it’s probably time to move away from analytics.
I think we moved away from analytics when we selected a middle school sized QB with a high school level arm (although he had a super computer sized processor)

We should probably stop trying to draft R2/R3 WRs and just sign vets.
Like DJ Chark, Jericho Cotchery or Rocket Ismail, or "What's That Bear Doing?"
i.e., that's not been a good path either.

I loved Dan as a player but it would seem that this inside info only confirms that he doesn't have the influence to persuade Tepper to avoid signing off on dumb decisions. He may have "butted heads" but we still did dumb things.
Without debating the Bryce decision, there are still the assets burned to MOVE UP to take busts like Matt Corral and DJ Johnson, never mind using a pick on a long snapper.

All of the current regime should go
Dan was involved with Fitterer and they are friends
sorry to say it, but he needs to go too
Think a lot of Dan too, but if he lacked the influence to talk people out of taking Matt Corral and DJ Johnson, let alone trading assets to move up to get them, he shouldn't stay either.

My theory is Tepper trades for Belichick as coach GM. Belichick get his winning record on the sideline & retires to the box with Tepper. Belichick receives part ownership in the Panthers & stays GM. Bill O'Brien works with his QB for a few years as OC/Asst HC until he takes HC position. Agreement set up to give Nick Saban partial ownership & join Belichick as Co-GMs when Saban wraps up his time at Alabama.
Not saying I want that. I expect it.

Or will an effort be made to get a legit outside candidate or at least the appearance of someone who would have some bit of control over the roster between Tepper checking in with suggestions/demands from his personal NFL grapevine?
-
Actually surprised we have 4 alternates.
Does JJ have more total yards in punt snapping than Bryce does in passing?

Bet Brooks can't play the piano either - should have drafted a long snapper in his place.
