  1. i've never understood the freak-out fest of trying to be the first one to post news. it's not like you're actually breaking real news, you're just being the first loser to click "new topic" and fat-finger a double-digit line of text without bothering to include the link of the guy who actually broke the news.

this place gets a lot of traffic on news searches for the panthers, so if you're admin it makes perfect sense to replace a shitty, hair-trigger sneeze of a thread with actual content two minutes later.

some of y'all take this poo too srs.

yep some people do take this poo too SRS, just like ..... there was someone going to kill himself if zod reset pie.

@zod reset all pie and check the morgue!

  2. Fozzy is also quite beastly on kick returns. He had a very good one I think it was week 2 or 3 this preseason.

that is true, fozzy did great given all of the panthers STs ranked in 30s. I even believe todman has a better to chance to land on PS than wegher too. Ginn can do KOs too, that position is so devalued now. I can stand there and watch the ball go out of bounds. I believe gano is around 80% in touchbacks.

  3. One thing that's getting overlooked in the keep Wenger over fozzy/todman/Tolbert is the contract. Todman is only signed for one year, while wehger is on a bare minimum three year deal. Fozzy has two years cheap.

Keeping todman for KO is very dumb, since most are touchbacks these days. Wegher has been beasting on STs, blocking and tackling. IMO its a easy choice between todman and wegher, gimme wegher all day.

  4. How'd you feel about the Kuechly pick at first, honestly?

i was not a fan. Beaston(when he was one), TD, and james anderson...... why draft another 1st rounder? I did watch a few ACC games and there seemed to be at least two lukes on field. Still college game doesn't convert to nfl, most times. best draft pick in panther history thus far.

  5. Panthers ran nickle out of necessity due to their lack of having a player that could stay on the field and guard a fast TE. Drafting shaq now prevents us from having to take a LB off for a smaller CB. We can now run a base 4-3 defense which I believe has always been the plan. Bene can come in when we are dealing with a quick slot receiver on 3rd down but having the speed and size of Shaq available on most plays gives our defense the flexibility it has always wanted but never had.

i disagree with your first few comments. Thomas Davis is a great player that can stay on the field taking on TEs. He's handled jimmy graham over the years. I'm sure you know its a passing league in this current meta. Plus you're suggesting remove shaq if the matchup is a speed slot? Nearly all teams have at least one and most teams start 3WRs now.

We' ll see if shaq can be this unique special base defense weapon. I'll say his role will be one giant mountain to climb.

  6. Zod you got a update on Lou young, saw it was a bad hammy pull.

I don't see the point in keep Todman for KOs. Ginn/fozzy(he did fine with crappy players blocking)/ other can knee kickoffs just as good. Speed looks super duper awesome without contract/tackling. All the reports ginn, Byrd, and todman are speed drools.

Still not in mayo camp, I know he's improved this week. Still he's got PS all over him.

    Looking forward to Buffalo.

  7. I'd love to hear how you could possibly dislike adding a player like Shaq Thompson. That's some funny poo right there.

And as far as Funchess goes, he has made as many postive plays in camp than negative so I'm not sure what the concern is. He's a fugging rookie, and has a great coach and the perfect teammate in Kelvin to relate to. Kelvin had issues with separating and route running last year too, and how did that work out?

We got spoiled with Kelvin, so for the people that think Devin will put up the same numbers need to stop. He's going to be a 2nd/3rd option and used as a mis-match in the offense. He has all the potential in the world to be an amazing #2 or even a #1, and I'm sure he'll get there. But if you think Funch is going to be trading TD catches with KB all year, you're going to be dissapoint.

shaq - panthers run nickle 65% of the time. No way luke or TD come off and bene is a great NB so he stays too. If this was TDs swan song it would help the reasoning picking Shaq, still overall I thought he was middle to late 2nd rounder. Wished the panthers would had picked a WR, like the very next pick is berriman or even Dorset. I just don't see where he fits on this team with these players and I don't put a high value on 4-3 OLB. Shaq playing means TD will play SLB, that's doing all the dirty work. ex. Taking on pulling OLmen so Luke/shaq/harper can make the play...

Fuch he did have a awful QB and overall team. Had toe/foot issues etc. Just like Shaq had him further down the ranking basically early-mid 3rd. That's mainly due to the WR group being soon great overall top to bottom. But he's got what the panthers want to give cam, tall, wingspan, sneaky speed targets.

That said dave and his crew have done a great job the two drafts(overall including UDFAs). They have access to vast more resources and forgotten more football than I know. They really wanted those two and I support the panthers. Lastly I drove the Benjamin hype bus while over 70% disliked the guy. It just happens the guys they like/picked this year where guys I didn't share the same opinion.

  8. I've already said how I disliked the whole class, mainly the top two. Reports I've heard on fuch is hes having problems with DBs being physical...... This is a former TE and small CBs are pushing him around. He needs to be the refs best friend in order to get calls.

Its only fair to point out fuch is following the panther top 20 rookie record setting WR and he's learning 3 spots. Fuch has big shoulders and they're getting used.

  9. Since hitting and tackling are illegal in practices now thanks to the union CBA(turning into soft @ss weakings).

How's Byrd going to react to a nice solid hit?? There are always rare examples of players less than 200 LBs being turf bad@sses. Football is still played in pain, these track speed players lose their will/want2 once a minor booboo happens.

Want to see NFL live game snaps for byrd, before I start swinging on his nuts.

  10. Quarterback - 2
    Cam Newton
    Derek Anderson

Note: Joe Webb gets cut, due to cams health and a deeper roster than 2014.

    Running Back - 4
    Jonathan Stewart
    Fozzy Whitaker
    Cameron Artis-Pain

    Mike Tolbert

Note- Ginn can handle KOs, besides most are touchbacks now.

    Tight End - 4
    Greg Olsen
    Ed Dickson
    Richie Brockel

    Brandon Williams

Note: Brandon Williams is a good 4 phase STer

    Wide Receiver - 6
    Kelvin Benjamin
    Devin Funchess
    Corey Brown
    Ted Ginn
    Brenton Bersin
    Jerricho Cotchery

Note: in my original hill beat out cothery. STs will determine 4-6.

    Offensive Line - 9
    Michael Oher

    Ryan Kalil
    Trai Turner
    Mike Remmers
    Chris Scott
    Daryl Williams
    Brian Folkerts
    Nate Chandler

Note: folkerts is a lock unless Dave picks up a different C. Most carry either 2 or 3 or have a trusted backup that can snap. Scott fills the emergency role.

    Defense: 25

    Charles Johnson
    Star Lotulelei
    Kawaan Short
    Frank Alexander
    Kony Ealy

Note: Considering recent injuries, Panthers opt to keep DT Kyle Love. I echo this

    Linebacker - 6
    Thomas Davis
    Luke Kuechly
    Shaq Thompson
    AJ Klein

    Ad Glanton

    JasOn Trusnik

Note: big disagreement here. I'm cutting mayo, PS better fit. Focus on ST, need LBs.

  11. He's a LB, not DB.  He fits quite well in Klein's spot.

klein played in about 30%(when he wasn't injured) of the defensive snap last year. The reasons for me listing DBs, cause nickel/Buffalo package was the base. Shaq needs displace a DB in order to stay in the base D.

Or are you fine with him playing STs and 20 snaps on defense?

  12. So if Collins Jones is most improved, along with being the 2014 nickel starter. Tillman woke up once the pads came on. Bene should be the starting Nickel this season.

Where does Shaq fit on defense and how many snaps does he get? I had HUGE questions about this pick and the whole class. I know first rounders have spoiled us fans, but some players take more time or there just isn't room right now.

I wonder how disappointed fans will be if Shaq is mainly STs this year?
