  2. As an individual, not much, but to group he could help a lot. There aren't many defensive backs who can keep up with Ginn or Brown much less having a team that has two people. This forces a safety to play over the top on them instead of rolling over to cover Benji or Olsen. That also opens up our run game because the safeties will have to play honest to cope with the speed on the field. Ultimately it spreads the line, opens run lanes, leaves Benji and Olsen in more one on ones, and gives us two guys who can out run anyone we face.

Good summary, just substitute Ginn's name with Torrey Smith and you've got yourself a 4 year playoff offence.

  3. Speaks of his impeccable grammar, leaves off the period on the sentence.

I'd like to nominate myself. Because, well, I'm a Saints fan and you all need a voice of reason around here.

Besides, you have a Seahawk mod and fug the Seahawks.

    1. Well done for spotting the intentional error.

    2.

Jeremy, if you make a Aints fan a mod I will never come to this site again.
  4. If I could choose any FA for us to sign (including all the tiffany's purchases) it would be Teddy Ginn. Next up would be Hardy (he would be first if he would truly come here for vet min.), but Ginn would be a huge re-acquisition for us this offseason, and relatively cheap. We'd still need a #2, which we could get in the draft, but then we'd have a beast of a speedster who Cam loves as our #3, a true return man, and a guy who actually has some chemistry here. I have a tough time seeing the Cards keep him with the emergence of John Brown, to be honest, so I really really hope this happens.

Of ALL the FAs in this off season you think an average kr/pr would be the best signing for us? Man pre season can't come soon enough.

  5. I don't feel those circumstances are relevant. The two things I think that matter here are

    - Was damage done to the NFL brand

    - Was Hardy at all responsible

In my eyes the only damage done to the NFL brand was through Roger Goodell's emotional reactions to the Rice, McDonald, Peterson and Hardy cases.

Where there was evidence and judgement/admission of guilt there is a case for dismissal or punishment from the employer.

Where the law doesn't find someone guilty, what right does an employer have to punish or fine someone?

  6. Still sad to see folks making Hardy the victim here. He was paid 15 million dollars to sit at home and made an extremely poor decision that ended up dragging the Panthers organization through the mud. He's hardly a victim, nor is it a guarantee he will be innocent, but too many folks on here just can't take off the black and blue glasses.

Will someone PLEASE explain the bad decision that Hardy made and provide something that shows this???

I feel like I'm missing some vital piece of information that everyone else has, and is using to drag his name through the mud. I've looked online for any suggestion that Hardy hung out with strippers, or that Nicole Holder was a painted ***** when they met, or even that he was abusive towards the Panthers or NFL in anyway while he was on the commissioners list.

Here are the facts as I see them (I may have missed bits):

    • Holder was a waitress when they met
    • She is now a marketing associate
    • Hardy called the police complaining about Holder not letting her out and being restrained by his agent
    • He said /she said statements released
    • Holder and attorney part ways due to "irreconcilable" differences
    • Hardy acts petulantly in court and is convicted of DV by the judge
    • Hardy appeals
    • Ray Rice video appears, Hardy added to commissioner's exempt list

  7. News Flash...........Greg Hardy found innocent by jury of his peers after 4 day trial. So if that does happen......

Now what does it mean? It means that even if innocent Greg Hardy will never suit up as a Carolina Panther ever,

    never, and in conclusion...never.

Greg Hardy has as much chance as suiting up as a Carolina Panther as the Seattle Seahawks winning the Superbowl in 2016 for a 3-peat.

    OR....

As the article suggests, he has a discussion with Gettleman and Richardson where he discusses his innocence and regret at the difficulty the trial caused last year, and offers to come to a reduced deal next year to try and make up for how much time he cost the team this year.

Not sure how this equates to an impossible situation.

  8. Did alright? Did you watch the defense in December and in the playoffs? They were as good as any Panthers unit over the past decade.

Playing who? I agree they looked alot better against the Falcons Oline, Ryan Lindley, Josh Mccown and Johnny Rehab, but when we came up against the Seahawks we struggled again.

Look at some of the blowouts we had earlier in the year and you can't tell me that we wouldn't have been more competent in defence with a 16 sack DE lining up for us.

  9. Wow we're really debating Hardy's benefit to the team because our defence "did alright" when the rookies started playing well.

If you wanna see the impact of elite players on a team, look at how well the team performs against stronger opponents:

2013 record vs .500 or better teams: 4-3 (average of 18 points conceded)

2014 record vs .500 or better teams: 1-5-1 (average of 39 points conceded)

We're better off without him though.

  10. There is no gray area in life, Jeremy.  No adjustments, no changes of direction as it changes.  For us to understand it, we must put everything into one box.

Much like stating Hardy has burnt all his bridges with the organisation and doesn't deserve to return because he's a liability that will always be a nutjob that hangs around with crazy broads.

  11. If Greg Hardy comes back, Ill grab all kinds of cooking ways. I'll grab some grills, pots, ovens, vats of oil... even a crockpot.

Theres gunna be a hell of a lot of people eating crow!

ratio is like .97 of 1 Huddlers completly dismissing the fact that he could be back.

I think he would be innocent. Why else would he defend his name to this extent?

I'll go on record now as one of the .03 that is holding onto some hope. I'll happily look a fool if it means I hold onto some hope that we get our 2013 D line back.
