I am happy to get the fifth. That is the WR TE round of day 3.
So many WR's I like this year. That could be the pick.

Carolina didnt have a 2nd next year, they got one by moving a few spots. Im ok with this
When we picking in the second next year all this will be forgotten. I like the trade. I like the extra 5th too. That could be our sleeper TE or RB.

I’d take a flier on Theo Johnson’s athleticism
Same. Stover, Sinnot, and Tip Reiman all intrigue me too.

39 could be in play. If able to only move down and stay in the top 50 and gain a third it could be an option. The 33 is our statement pick. I think we will swing for the fences on that one. A top tier WR in a historically elite class? Yeah let's do that. Even if 6 WR's go in the first we got options. Pearsall, Worthy, Coleman, or XL. I hope only 5 go in the 1st cause in that case somebody slipped like a Ladd or Mitchell.

I looked into this some, Robinson never played NT by my findings. I've been asking what the line looks like given there's three guys in the 330 range and clowney played DE too(at least he did for Texans). SO I know they rotate heavy, but egos are egos about who's starting.
I wanted sweat in the 3rd for a true NT until he screwed up, but Id still draft him in the 4th now... Just like with center, panthers don't have a NT on the roster...Tuttle is just acting as one.
I'd still take Sweat in the third. I know he messed up a bit but they are kids. They make mistakes. Sweat or Van Prann are my 3rd round hopes unless JPJ falls to 33. I like Robinson but he is more of a 3-4 DE or possibly a Gross Matos upgrade. With Clowney though I think it's not the best use of that high 2nd.

Hellz, Id take those two without a trade down gladly. Kiper must be on a bender
I can't see a world Ladd and JPOwers slip that far.

I agree on the likely targets. Need WR's that are versatile, polished route runners and separate. The jump ball, deep threat monsters are likely wasted here. Johnny Wilson, Leggette, Tez etc are not gonna fit as well as the guys you mentioned. It's also the mold of the TE we should look at. Good route runners that make themselves available to the QB.

Keep seeing McKonkey at 39 and makes me instantly discredit them. No way he last till 39. Be lucky to have him available at 33. Way more polished than a lot of the other guys.

My rankings of WR's go like this.
Harrison JR top 5
Nabers top 10
Rome between 10 and 15
Brian Thomas 15 to 20
Worthy 16 to 26
Then it gets interesting. Keon, Ladd and Mitchell all have potential to be that 6th WR taken but I don't see all of them squeezing into the 1st. Mitchell to the Bill's and Ladd to the Chiefs makes sense. That said I think it's more likely that 6 WRs go in the 1st than 8.
Worthy, Keon and Mitchell all have more question marks than Ladd but have physical traits that are more elite. Pearsall and other 2nd tier guys will likely be there at 33 or even 39 so I'm not worried. This is a ridiculously talented and deep class. Xavier Leggette would be a 1st rounder in many prior classed.

B+ off season. Wish luvu would have stayed but feeling good bout this off-season. Nail the draft and we got a A. Brown turned it on last season. Bad team and he gave consistent effort unlike a certain someone.

i was thinking about doing something like this for a WR duo i'd/we'd like to see but i couldn't figure out how to do it correctly. Wouldn't necessarily be the two favorite. It would be two that complement each other.
glad you did this, though. will be interesting to see what others are thinking.
Yeah I'd like to see a duo too. Not even tied to them being the premium picks. Coker, Washington, Thrash, McMillan, Ainias Smith, Cowing and Rice are all guys I like. We need to adopt a similar strategy as the Texans last year. Crowded WR room with multiple skill sets and body sizes just throwing everything against the wall to see what fit. I would love to add a Pearsall, Corley, Tez, McConkey, or Legette but 33 and 39 could also be a top corner, NT or Center. I keep thinking bout Sweat with Brown and Robinson on each side or pairing Horn with a legit talent across him. WR is a need but Dionte and AT are gonna eat. Mingo needs to step up and competition needs to be brought in. AT might need to ride into the sunset at some point but it's not tomorrow. It all comes down to Young.

I think they will look at Corbett and they feel good about it. I think they have talked to him and he is on board. However, Mays is also moving to C and I would not be surprised to see if BC is not involved. Not ideal, but with 2 stud OGs beside you, he should be fine.
Build for the future and prepare. A young Center still needs to be part of the plan.

Got a better edge guy for 1/3 the cost. Who'd a thought that was possible. Yes I said better.
Man plays the run better than Burns could ever dream of. He is a dawg. Might take a play off occasionally but if we got wonnum, chaison and barno he can. And no I doubt DJ Johnson will ever work out but.... If he can put it together.

If we can get(BIG IF) a decent pass rush and actually play with leads corner might not be a huge need. I’m concerned that we have Corbett as our starting C when I don’t think he’s ever played the position.
Same. Corbett at Center is a big question mark. Horn playing up to his draft status and staying healthy is also one. So center and corner trumps edge at this point. 33 and 39 need to be a WR, Corner or Center. I like Kneeland and Adisa at edge but starting to lean towards whichever WR catches our fancy or a corner. Developmental center might be available later. Van Prann is my hope but have a feeling he will go before 65. Sleepers like McCormick and Limmer are options but using the 101 on a Center worries me. Less fear bout scooping up a RB, TE or WR there. I think one of those top picks will be a WR though so a top tier Corner is more important at 33 or 39. I've seen DeJean slide to 33 in mocks. I don't know but I have some hope in this draft.

Are we done with edge? We could be. Wonnum and Chaison are being underrated on here. New management did exactly what I suggested to replace Burns. Give me two to three guys in place of Burns. I personally think Barno can contribute too. I don't see edge as big a priority as corner, wr or center now. Obviously BPA but all things considered 2nd tier CB vs 2nd tier Edge im taking corner.

Maybe he's a meat head. He did score I believe a 93 on the same test Bryce Young was praised for aceing.
I mean looking back if my only options are trading up for Bryce Young or staying put I'd have drafted Levis and kept DJ Moore. The Titans just shelled out 92 million bucks to pair Levis with a WR we could have given him for half the cost.
You just have to laugh.
In hind sight Levis was a play. No trade up wait for this year or stay put and take Levis. Hell we could have had a Jake Locker for peanuts and still draft a guy this year. Maybe it will all work out.

That said I like Milton or Hartman as later picks but would rather go just about any position but QB.
-
Rather have a late round pick used on a RB or WR. The disgruntled huddle contingent just wants a young QB to say " such and such is better than Bryce".
-
Trimmed the fat and added some beef. Strengthened the interior line and also gave Brown a partner in crime. Could we see a Center and NT with our first two picks? An advocate of building a team from the inside out can dream. Barton and Sweat would be the most unsexy top picks ever but... for me, be still my heart. I give us a B-

Center. Barton, Frazier, Van Prann, Zinter, Limmer, etc. We need a young guy to develop there. I'm not trusting moving Corbett or BC there.
I agree with your assessment though. I'd like to add one in draft and look at UDFA too.

Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB with 46th Pick, Round 2
in Carolina Panthers

He is considered the top RB. Got some receiving ability. Bit confused. Both picks have been big swings on upside. Personally hated seeing Jackson Powers slip and we passed. Also McConkey, Polk, Kool aid, and DeJean could be a regret. But what do I know?
