Goosebumps.   Good chance this is the first step of the relationship with the Panther that will finish their career with the most wins in uniform, most playoff wins in uniform, most TDs, possibly even the most games played when it's all said and done.  It's even possible if it goes right we're not worrying about the QB spot again until some time in the 2040s

the number one QB could be a total bust and we wouldn't be any worse off than we were when Tepper hired Rhule, that's why I'm on board with the trade

I hope and pray this happens.  Huge stroke of luck if one of our opponents cripples their franchise by giving away their future draft picks and burning their cap space just to sign a small, run-first, injury prone QB

ask yourself this:  If Lamar is worth that kind of $$$, why didn't a really smartly run organization like the Ravens offer him that kind of deal, when they wouldn't even have to give up draft picks to do it?

Fans want it both ways.  Incompetent maybe, but not rigged.  I damn well know if the Panthers lost a game by a close margin because they went 3-and-out on one of their drives where the playclock was inadvertently running when it shouldn't have been, fans on here would be furious that it wasn't corrected 

Andy Reid, Bruce Arians, Pete Caroll times two, Bill Belichick, Gary Kubiak, Tony Dungy,Jon Gruden, and Dick Vermeil were all retreads who won the big game and that's just this century.  In fact i'd say it's more common than not that a coach who isn't coaching for the first team that hired him wins the superbowl.  I like Reich and hopefully we give him someone better than Darnold to work with

Good, let them team up and faceplant against Hebert and Mahomes twice a year while giving up draft capital for that privilege.

I wonder if the other owners laugh at Tepper debasing himself trying to give it away like a nympho every offseason to whatever hot commodity crops up and still getting turned down hard

The only thing that gives me hope that Tepper won't jeopardize the franchise future by giving away high draft capital and total control to a 60 year old flight risk is that he could have given Watson the fully guaranteed albatross deal and we probably would have landed him, but he wisely backed away

Trading high draft capital for a 60 year old coach who made his bones with a top 10 QB ever and really not anything else after that would be an emblematic error for a star f***er of an owner like Tepper.  Jon Gruden had a better case to make as a big splash retread than Payton does and we all know how that turned out

Yeah i'm not worried about this.  There's a long lasting, unspoken gentleman's agreement among owners to artificially cap coaching pay because otherwise you end up with Belichick and Reid and others making pro-bowl player level salaries; it's a small club and they know not to piss the other 31 off

This is the NFL, not the NBA, if you can't put a winning team together after years of drafting in the top 10, that's an indictment of your franchise, and it wouldn't have mattered at that point if you'd have top 3 picks

I agree, players would run through a wall for him too.  If Tepper was willing to flout the other owners' price fixing agenda when hiring Rhule, he damn well better be willing to brush off their blackballing of Flores
