  1. The first thing that jumps out at me with these rankings is how different everyone’s rankings are. This will be a great opportunity for someone (hopefully Panthers🤞) to get some steals this year.

It looks like they grade about 55 or so guys to be starters or better within their first two seasons (>6.3). It reminds me that we always get enamored with prospects and tend to forget how they compare to guys already in the league.

He'll probably fall to the latter rounds because of the injury and drop-off in his play.   That said this is the type of player Rhule likes.  Versatile and athletic.

Which round do you think he'll go.

    5 or 6?
I think there are several DBs to be had in later rounds that would fit our scheme- StJuste, Keith Taylor, Bynum, Gowen(though some have him in their top 100)

    FOUR CB's?? That's a little excessive, I would say.

    I’m thinking Mukuamu would be multi-position guy-6’4 205

South Carolina used Israel Mukuamu in a variety of ways including as a wide corner, in the slot, as a deep safety, and in the box. While he primarily played as an outside corner, he does have appealing traits that make him a versatile option at the next level that can serve as a matchup neutralizer against tight ends and big slots. For a team that features a slot safety and/or positionless subpackage defenders, Mukuamu is an intriguing option for those roles in addition to playing wide corner in zone coverage. Mukumua is long, athletic, rangy, and physical. He does well to stay leveraged in zone coverage, has good ball skills, and is aggressive driving forward. The concerns with Mukuamu stem from his high-cut frame and the challenges it presents in terms of flipping his hips and cleanly transitioning. In addition, his play dropped off in 2020 after two outstanding seasons, but that was primarily due to injury. Unfortunately, he simply wasn’t playing his best football at the end of his career and some of his allure has faded. With that said, focusing on 2018 and 2019, that tape and his physical traits indicate he can fill a meaningful and valuable role for an NFL secondary if they are willing to tap into his versatility and what he does well.

Ideal RoleOutside corner that can situationally play in the slot. Has some appeal as a slot safety/positionless sub-package defender.

I'd probably prefer to sign another veteran backup QB than roll with Teddy. I just can't stomach paying him this massive contract for the paltry return we will likely be getting. I suspect he is about 80% of the way out the door.

I'd rather roll with a later round QB in the draft than Teddy, TBQH.

    Something like this...

  5. Given our many holes and lack of cap room, this year may be an even better time to trade down. I’m fully aware that you have to have a wiling partner(s) to do so, but I’d love it if we traded back multiple times and added 3rd rounders. I’m concerned about taking a rookie QB with a below average OL. I’d add starters/contributors/depth in this year’s draft and see what’s available in 2022. I really like Zaven Collins as another hybrid freak for our D, then hit OL, LB, CB with the rest. I think we can get quality at OL and CB in later rounds, but good LBs are gone by 3rd round.

Here’s my latest mock with multiple trade downs:

Fixing oline in off season.  If the QB of preference is gone at 8 we trade back.  Not too far 12-18 is prime.  Then draft Alex Leatherwood.  Bama beast.  Championship pedigree.  Outland trophy winning left tackle.  Second round target is Creed Humphrey Oklahoma center who has been in the middle of a innovative offense for years.  Top center.  If Creed gets swiped earlier than our second round pick (which is very likely) Go defense.  Later in draft we keep an eye on guys like Trey Smith, Robert Jones, Adrian Ealy, Jackson Carman etc.  Big swing tackles that could play a road grading right guard too.  In free agency I have three targets.

    1.  Pat Elflein - third rounder out Ohio State.  Started 44 games at all three interior positions.  So Jack of all trades but could start at Center or left guard.

    2.  Brian Winters - third round out of Kent State.  Played on Jets for years poor guy.  But solid veteran to compete with a rookie right guard.

    3. Sam Tevi - late round pick by chargers but despite that has started lots on the left side.  Gritty competitor with a chip on his shoulder.  Ideal to push Little and Leatherwood.

If we miss out on Creed I would just wait yet another year for center.  Not a fan of many of the other centers.

    Projected lineup.

    LT - Leatherwood, Levi, Little

    LG - Daley, Elflien

    C - Paradis, Elflien

    RG - Rookie, Winters

    RT - Moton, Daley,

Love that idea! Trade back at least once and add 3rd with each trade. Radunz in the 2nd if other OTs gone. Decent IOLs available in 3-5 ( (Moore, Meinerz) can add LB Cox, Decent CB then too

  7. Darren Waller- GT 6'6" 240lbs 4.46

BOTTOM LINE Late bloomer who is faster than quick and has coveted size-speed combination. Waller isn't just a tall receiver, he has legitimate hands and body control and can impose his size on mismatched cornerbacks. Waller has a low floor, but with a little more competitive fire and technique work, he could become a legitimate touchdown maker in the league.

Teach him to block a little and we have a second TE
