  1. Shirts are the same with me... depends on the shirt, but usually arms are tight on Large and XL is like a dress. Oh well, I guess I just have to keep wearing tight sleeves.
  2. I murdered legs today. Squatted with a bodybuilder I know in the gym and we really pushed each other... Probably not gonna want to get out of the bed tomorrow.
  3. My wife lost ~30 lbs last year and has kept it off.... her motivation was a family picture at an event for my son. I said nothing to her about it... save one time when she directly asked me. I was honest with her, mainly about her eating habits (which were atrocious) and told her that we're 40+ now, you can't eat like a 25 year old, never exercise, and expect to keep the same body. She did weight watchers and was borderline obsessive about her diet and the weight came off in less than 3 months. Then she discovered running and aerobics at the gym and she's kept it off. At 5'4" she's hovered around 125 for the past year and she looks great. It's a decision (as most of us in here know) that each person has to make for themselves. If you're not personally motivated, it won't happen.
  4. I've been trying to kill it lately. Joscott and I did an incredible chest workout Sunday and I'm not even sore... it's weird. We did like 7 sets of bench and the last three drop sets were paused reps, which usually makes me really sore, plus some other stuff and ended with pushups... Not decided on what I'm doing today, I'm kind of in a weird spot since I did chest Sunday and deads/back yesterday... I guess I can do arms, but I don't really care for an arm only day. I guess I could do chest again since I'm not sore at all...
  5. That's a big if dude, but I still want to do it.... It's great man... I'm glad you've started on this journey and are doing well at it. It's good for you and your family.
  6. You're a pretty big guy Z, so 240 isn't unreasonable imo... 200 might be a little much even, but that's your call... As some have already mentioned, weight isn't really the best measure. I rarely weigh myself and usually when I think I've lost weight I've gained, and when I think I've gained, I've lost... it's really weird. I've hovered between 215 and 220 for like 2 years... and honestly I'm fine with that. I would like to cut a little, but it's not a huge deal. I've had three different people tell me lately that I look bigger and more cut recently and I haven't done any cardio to speak of in the last few weeks and have been mainly heavy powerlifting...so honestly who knows? I guess I'm gaining muscle. tl;dr... keep working at it... your weight loss is sure to slow down some as you go. Change up your routine some, keep eating well and it will continue to fall off.
  7. You're still going heavy at the gym tho right? Right?
  8. I haven't read poo since I finished GoT last summer and then re-read Hyperion Cantos. I went on vacation last August and put my reading tablet away and haven't touched it since... got into football and never picked back up on reading... I'd like to get back into something... idk what tho.
  9. Way to go Lola. You need to give me a Jase some lessons.
  10. Jase how accurate do you think the bodyfat measurement is?
  11. I wouldn't worry about it... sounds like you're doing all the right stuff.
  12. Decent... Hit shoulders pretty hard Friday afternoon with Joscott and took Saturday off. My wife roped me in to go clean condos at Topsail Beach with her on Saturday... bleh, that sucked. Joscott and I had a really hard chest workout yesterday morning. I'm surprised I'm not more sore than I am today. Probably hit me later.
  13. Dude I've heard that those are the absolute worst... sorry.
  14. I've tried working out (lifting) early in the morning as well and I can't really get motivated and then if I do, by 10 or 11 AM I am exhausted at work. Not worth it for me... but I know some people feel the exact opposite. I've been kind of bleh this week all week... I think I finally figured out it's a sleep issue... my wife started a new schedule this week and we were getting up at 6AM for her to make it in on time, and I think I'm just so tired in the afternoons that even my pre isn't helping much... may need to start hitting the sack earlier or taking an afternoon office nap.
  15. It was incline dumbbells with 100s and when I kicked them up I kinda lost the one a bit in the right hand and in the process of controlling it I let it push my shoulder down weirdly...
  16. Yeah, I'm squatting tonight... shoulder shouldn't bother that.
  17. Did chest yesterday and was all psyched up ready to hit it hard and I tweaked my (non repaired) right shoulder 3rd set in... argh. Rest of the workout was a complete letdown. I blame Jase.
  18. That's low you guys... possibly true... but low...
