  1. Yes, but you don't do chest and biceps everyday either Jase...
  2. Well I kind of need a goal other than just lifting everyday... my original goal was 1200 and I got there... so I'm aiming a little higher. I mean, in all reality it's good, but it's not like elite or anything. Based on everything I've read, I'm well in to the "advanced" category for my weigh (215 currently) but I know there are a lot of stronger guys out there in my weight class. Plus, as has been pointed out by the huddle peanut gallery more than once, I'm pretty fuging old compared to a lot of the guys in here (and to most of the guys I work out with), so... I kind of like showing those young 25 year olds how to deadlift heavy poo.
  3. I've never sniffed 600.... most I ever did back in the day was 405. I'd like to get up to at least 455 now... maybe 500, but it's just so damned dangerous idk if I'll try it or not. I'd really like to hit 1400lbs on dead/squat/bench combined. Right now I'm at 1230 lbs. My bench is relatively weak compared to the others... I think I can get to 450 squat and 550 deadlift this summer. I don't see me getting to 400 on the bench tho, so that's probably out.
  4. Quite a few guys in my gym dead and squat in socks. For deads it let's you lift the bar about 1 inch less from the ground.
  5. Finally had the guts to unrack 405 on the squat today. First time in about 15 years... Got two reps pretty easily. Legs are not the issue... Still working my back up to the heavier weights.
  6. Agree with psc. The chick on top is smokin hot. The chick on the bottom is on the juice.
  7. Well everybody is different Cat... and while I don't think you'll get "big" in terms of what men would be able to do, if you lift heavier, your muscles will grow. I don't think you necessarily have to lift heavier to burn more fat... I think the idea there is, the more muscle you have (as a ratio) the more your body has to work while resting to keep it fed, so it burns more calories even when you're doing nothing. As for squats, that is light. Do you have a bar and weights you can use? You workout at home right? Going up a lot on your squat weight (and don't forget about deadlifts) will put muscles pretty much everywhere but your arms and chest. I've worked out with a lady at my gym a few times and she's about my age (40ish) and she has an ass and legs that are marvelous and she squats between 100 and 150 lbs on her sets, deadlifts that too.
  8. I thought this was inspirational... it's not even close to the WR, but still... The Mountain DL's 994 lbs
  9. Yeah, that was a great gym... a little dark and dank, but large and nice equipment. All the Gold's gym trainers at my gym are college aged kids... there are a few independent trainers in there that are pretty good, but even some of them are idiots.
  10. I see that all the time... more especially people doing movements completely wrong. It's bad enough that the people don't know what to do, that they don't bother to try and find out, but hell... 80% of the trainers don't know what to do either... or they just don't care.
  11. Test isn't side effect free either... it's been linked to strokes.
  12. I've honestly never even considered it... the health affects are too drastic.
  13. From what I've read, taking BCAA's is very helpful for those on a caloric deficit who are trying to cut but not lose muscle mass.
  14. I haven't had the twitchies in a while... they seem to come and go. It can be quite irritating. I'm actually taking a day off because my oldest has a school awards presentation tonight... Killed chest yesterday tho so...
  15. Yeah, I always eat pizza when I sit on a machine...
  16. Is that a birdie or a hole-in-one?
  17. That's damned impressive Cat... I wonder how many women (or men for that matter) can do 20 pushups? Have you tried to see how many you can do at one time? I did last year when Panthro was talking about that pushup challenge and got 49... my pecs were burning so bad I had to stop... that's a very aerobic activity as well.
