  1. There was a gap there, from about 9-12 where they don't really fit in the kids care and they can't workout either... My oldest is 18 now (he's more interested in other things so he never goes) and my youngest is 13 almost 14. He'll go with his mom and do cardio... I haven't really pushed him to workout and lift with me yet because I feel he's still a tad young for it... if he's interested this summer he can though.
  2. I would workout at home, but I don't have the necessary equipment and I probably would have a harder time getting motivated. Our solution to that has been to take the kids with us... of course ours are a little older.
  3. Never any laughing... everyone starts somewhere... it's always the form not the weight. Those are very reasonable goals. Good luck, but you're welcome anytime.
  4. Kurb, I can get u in at Gold's for at least a week for free... come hit it with me and J Saturday. Yes, Monday is ICD, International Chest Day.
  5. My god yesterday was worse than Monday. I've never seen so many people in our gym. I passed Joscott around 7 as I was leaving and he was coming in and it was still crazy. The other issue is that the majority of the new people are young (16-24) douchebag types. Also, deodorant must no longer be popular with that age group.
  6. I been trying to leave here a little early, but it doesn't help much... I'm hoping they'll all lose interest soon, but it'll probably be into Feb before that starts to happen.
  7. Holy moly our gym is crowded as fug right now... stupid New Year's resolutioners... Most of ours this year seem to be the young guy douchebag types too... On a good/sore note, Joscott and I KILLED legs on Sunday. Mine are still hurting bad.
  8. Yep you're right... now that I've gotten into it I'm hooked... 410 x 4 then 460 x 1 yesterday on the DL. Might try 500 next time. The 460 wasn't that bad... the first 8" off the floor is hard but after that, it came right up easy peasy.
  9. I don't really have a choice... so it is what it is... on the good side, there's lots to look at.
  10. Once it gets below... say... ZERO.... who cares?
  11. Agree... probably the best/hardest cardio that I ever do.
  12. Was looking for some deadlift related workouts earlier and found this... http://muscleandbrawn.com/strong-strength-standards-raw-natural-lifters/ Some interesting info as I'm getting more and more into powerlifting. Was surprised to see where I'm at on the charts...
  13. fuging dogs... OK motherfugers, enough with the spider poo.
  14. Flu sucks man. Get rid of that poo. I still have a sinus infection I think, but I don't "feel" sick otherwise. Chest day today so I doubt I'll be doing any declines. Deadlifts and squats always make me dizzy after a set anyway, esp if I'm going heavy.
  15. Being sick sucks when you're wanting to hit the gym... I've been fighting a head cold for about a week and a half now off and on. I think I've managed to get over it mostly... Airborne ftw!
  16. Yeah, certain parts of mine always get sore and some never/rarely do. Chest always gets sore, so do my quads... every once in a while my lats will get sore, but usually not for long... Shoulders never do, but on occasion my traps are. Joscott and I did a tricep superset at the end of shoulders and triceps last week and my tri's were sore for 3 days.
