If we could get a new franchise here yeah I’d be behind this.

I'd love a Browns Ravens situation where the team moves and the expansion takes over the old teams name and history. Have Tepper move the Panthers to some dump and name them the Swamp Donkeys. Then shortly after we get an expansion Carolina Panthers team and start over completely with new ownership and everything and never look back.

Burns would 100% look better on a stacked team.  But Garrett, Crosby, Bosa, etc would all look better here than Burns does.  Because they are better and have more well rounded games.  Burns needs to be setup to an extent for his outside speed moves.

I completely agree. Before the Niners traded for Chase Young, Bosa was actually in a funk and on a worse sack pace than Burns was. He just recently turned it on and strung together some very nice games as the defense started to play way better. He's still better and more complete than Burns imo, but I think it's kind of unfair that most of this board (not saying you) tries to paint Burns as a complete bum. I'm willing to give him and several other of our guys on defense having down years a pass given the circumstances.

Browns are the last thrown against team in the NFL.  Cowboys are the 3rd least thrown against team

Garrett is top 5 in sacks.

Parsons is top 10 in sacks

    It's only stopping Burns

I get what you're saying, but the quality of those opportunities are a bit different. Those are all around great defenses that are performing well, as well as their teams.

The Browns defense early on was just insane and the Cowboys defense forced so many big plays and the offense's firepower just forces teams to fall behind and try and catch up by making poor throws deep.

Some games those defenses absolutely feasted like when Garrett had his insane game when the Browns beat down the Titans or when Micah and the Cowboys terrorized Bryce. We don't get that luxury.

This defense battles for field position until they finally get worn down. Teams can just march on us as the game drags on.

Garrett and Parsons are way better than Burns right now, but if Burns was swapped for either of them it's likely he will look way better than he does with us.

  4. I still think Burns is a good player and an important piece to our future. Could he play better? Yes, but going into the Bucs game he was 3rd in pass rush win rate, behind only Garrett and Parsons. His opportunity is way less, the defense is never put on the field in a good position. We never have the lead and the offense can barely sustain drives. Burns doesn't have the opportunity to pin his ears back like some of these other guys get. Teams can just grind us down. This is a very bad team top to bottom. All of our players across the board are going to look bad and have down years numbers wise.

  5. Sam was actually a legit threat when we got down at goal. Not as automatic as Cam, but shockingly efficient. I think all of Bryce's passing TD's are within the 10. Our playbook shrinks a lot when we get down there with Bryce.

I've been a Bryce supporter. And I still disagree with those who call him a bust simply because of his lack of a supporting cast... that said, I no longer have much faith in his ability to be elite when he finally does have the pieces around him. Can he be a Jared Goff type yes, Ryan Tannehill, sure, D. Carr perhaps. But we all had hope that by trading up we would be getting more than that. A franchise, superbowl winning guy.

It's ironic that I'm coming to this conclusion in his best game in weeks, but that 3rd and 1 at the end really left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't doubt his heart. I doubt his decision making under fire.

We'd be extremely lucky if he develops to be a short Alex Smith. He for sure will be upgradeable if the situation arises and we continue to be a bottom team. Hopefully we can get some serviceable to solid QB play out of him until then.

  7. I'd be fine with this. He'd probably turn the team around immediately and then after 4 years he'd wear off his welcome and rub everyone the wrong way. Then we hand off the foundation to the next coach. I mainly want it to happen because he has the highest chance out of all the candidates to punch Tepper in the face.

If Bryce was bottom 5, this thread would be 100 pages. Sucks when that narrative doesn’t work out huh.

Dude Bryce has been in the bottom 5 several times this year now or mingling in it. If it weren't for most of our starting olineman living there Bryce would be in it in all but like 2 or 3 weeks. He's not the worst player every week, but it's ok to admit he's been playing poorly this year.

Bring back Cam?  I loved him as well but come on man, his time is done and the poor guy can't do what he once did I'm quite sure. I wish we could have a young first year Cam all over again but it just isn't going to happen and we have to accept that era is over forever. I miss him too and know what you mean but I don't think he can be super Cam any longer

I get what he's saying. Even if he's completely done it'd still be better and more entertaining than the garbage we're seeing now. Even simple completions feel like 50/50 balls. It's bad when we collectively fist pump over a first down to move the chains once every few drives.

  10. I love the fans, community and players, but I hate the product on the field and the people higher up. I'm not normally a negative guy, I've actually tried to be very positive in my entire huddle tenure throughout the good and the bad, but this season is doing something to me. I don't know if it's the build up from Rhule and all this poo now pushing me over the edge, but it's very hard not to be critical and just rant these days.

That's more opinion than fact but it is treated as fact here. I won't say he's not a good QB until he's been given the tools to be good!

That's fair. I hope he does end up being good because we all love the Panthers and deserve better. There's no denying Bryce needs to work on a lot though, more than we had anticipated.

Have you seen the time difference they have compared to Bryce?

Swap Bryce with any of them and he will still look bad. He does everything bad right down to the fundamentals. We basically need to teach him how to play QB at this point and it starts with his footwork.

How is it that stroud is more mobile than bryce? I thought stroud was designated the statue by so many scouts, experts, social media experts? How can there be a collective miss that big?

It's the same question how does Levis have even better mechanics and poise than Bryce. Bryce literally does nothing well compared to the other qbs somehow

Why didn’t we take a knee and go into the half?  We get ball back…instead frank feels the urge to give the titans more points

A poster mentioned it earlier and I thought he was joking. Then when I thought about it, I realized we were almost guaranteed to throw 3 straight incomplete passes to never move the clock down. This team is a disgrace.

The league was collectively deluded into thinking a historically short Alabama QB lacking a single elite trait was somehow a first round pick (let alone a #1 pick), and we fell for the bait

They'll likely respect qb measurables more now. Bryce will be the poster child on what not to do going forward. It sucks we had to be the Guinea pigs.
