Saw a report that Panthers cleared around 5 more mil from Robby Anderson’s salary. Can anyone confirm that, and how much cap space we have?

    I wonder why?

This means he is back for 2022

From what I am hearing Baker might be able to be obtained for a 2 that could turn into a 1.
if we could offer the 2023 2 (or 1), and maybe dump Darnold as part of it - we have the makings of a pretty darn good offense

The Panthers Have a lot of holes to fill. We will probably see changes to the starting lineup at LB, MLB, Corner, Safety, OL, DL, and oh yeah QB

Are their any young, previously rotational players or backups on the team who you can see stepping into a starting role based on their play last season (IE- Luvu starting at Edge/OLB in place of Reddick)

What about Henderson, Robinson, heck even Tecklenburg? Who do you expect to step up this year if anyone?

Robinson at FS might get a look

The two rookie guards are logical.

and shi smith in the slot

I really don’t even want a big splash vet because I think Rhule will get screwed over on the trade like he has every trade he has made. Plus a big splash vet could save Rhule’s job and no one wants that. Darnold, FA cheap QB like Mitch or Mariotta or draft are the only options I want.

Big splash vet QB isn’t going to happen.

watson and Wilson have no trade clauses. Why would they, or any FA want to come here? And we don’t have the capital to pull of a big trade

Best case scenario is a one year rental of Garrapolo or stick with Darnold. We could trade back twice in the first and still pick in the teens. There will be a QB there if they want one. And we could draft quality interior lineman in rounds 2/3 with the acquired picks

the only splash money should be spent on the tackle from the Saints. They can’t keep him. And he will be chasing a big payday

Clear franchise guys are never available at #6. They go at the very top of the draft.

And even those ALWAYS have little question marks.

Look at the QBs picked in the #1 spot over the last decade…..

lawrence, burrow, Murray, mayfield, Goff, Winston, Luck, Newton

How many didn’t have question marks?

Yeah we had one that didn’t cost much that made pro bowl for raiders. Instead we went with garbage Carter. Another bad call by this coaching staff.

Perryman didn’t fit our scheme. Not a bad call at all

I mean I agree but it’s time to face it we stuck with Fhule. Only thing is fans can do is not show up to the games, I could really care less if he takes the team somewhere else we suck anyway. I told people that’s what he had in mind

Yeah that’s why he is investing millions in upgrading the stadium, building a world class practice facility, and MLS team, and the Charlotte community as a whole…….to move the team. World class take bro

As a gadget player getting 15-20 snaps a game (think Taysom Hill)... honestly at this point, that's where he can do the most damage in the league, how do you stop someone with his size and athleticism who could always pull up and pass it at any moment?

Draft a LT with the 6th pick, spend money in FA on some guards and/or a center, and bring back Gilmore to be a mentor for Horn.

Use CMC in a Deebo type of role, give him maybe 10 carries a game, but have him mostly lined up in the slot.

Just imagine rolling out there with DJ out wide to the left, Robby out wide to the right, CMC lined up in the slot to the left, with Cam and Hubbard in the backfield with Cam on the side of the field as CMC.

You motion Hubbard out of the backfield and line him up behind CMC and pitch the ball out wide to Cam to now have the ball in space.  You have two of the better route runners in the league in DJ and CMC out there running two routes, CMC short and DJ mid range and you have Robby running a go route on the far side of the field, with Hubbard now acting as a lead blocker in front of Cam (or maybe this should be Tommy).

How do you defend that situation?

Cam could run the ball with 3 blockers out in front of him and in space, but you also have to respect DJ and CMC out there as he could easily throw to one of them for an easy 10-15 yard gain, and if Robby beats his man, Cam has the arm to get it to him deep.  It really is a lose-lose situation for the defense there, you have to pick your poison, but if Cam makes smart decisions, I don't see how that can be beat over the course of a full game if designed and executed properly.

The NFL is starting to act like the NBA where there are position-less players, you put Cam, CMC, and DJ out there on the field at once with Cam as a utility player and not a straight QB, I think defenses will struggle immensely to defend that.

    Please god no.

Cam is a shell of his former self. He is now a one read QB with no legs. We can find cheaper options to gain 2 yards up the middle on 3rd down

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say all these dudes turn Rhule down and Tepper’s hand is forced. Here’s the thing….if you have a good situation like Groh, Gruden, O’Brien then you aren’t leaving to come to a situation where we have a crap OL and no QB.

Fitterer (and Tepper) are gonna have to realize that bc they made the wrong choice with keeping Rhule they are now being forced into fixing the roster FIRST…and getting good coaches next.

2022 is going to be a wash. It sucks…but it’s true. Do everything possible to keep the D solid and start to build the OL. This is why you CANNOT spend capital right now on skill players. They’re worthless without a good QB.

Gotta respectfully disagree with you here. When you are a position coach and you have the opportunity to take one of the only 32 offensive coordinator jobs……when only a handful of new ones come open every year….you want that job

IMO we tank next year. Trade off our assets, trade back in the draft to acquire future picks, let Rhule run this team to an 0-17 record, then cut ties.

Start fresh with a new coach, loaded draft capital and a shiny new training facility. Time to burn it down so we can build it back up.  May have to say goodbye to some fan favorite players and fans in the mean time, but winning will bring fans back.

This take is ridiculous. We have a legit defense and excellent offensive weapons.
we don’t have enough data to know if Darnold can be the answer - but he is better than Cam at this point.

this is a good year in both FA and the draft for OL help. Invest there. We might be a year away from respectability and two from the playoffs.

Get rid of Rhule and that whole process starts over. New Coordinators. New personnel. And you waste the areas where this team is good. Not a smart plan
