They're not paying 6 million plus.
They're paying less than 6 million.
The rest is incentives.
So why would he sign an incentive driven contract if he’s not expected to play?

It’s happening.

First - did Dan forget they’re in the same division?
Secondly, worst take I’ve ever heard.

You overvalued Cousins by a wide margin. He may not be worth even 1 first round pick but them getting Tua, a first and more for Cousins is completely unrealistic.

If the Jets get Watson, then the Texans will draft Wilson at 2. It doesn’t really change anything for us. Whoever gets a QB, another team has to lose that QB which gives them a need.
Unless, Darnold is included and the Texans opt to rebuild their garbage OL by drafting Sewell.

It’s pretty obvious Matt Rhule is calling the shots, as he did last year as well. Definitely Year 2, but these players were expected cuts so dunno why everyone is up in arms about it. Just typical roster moves.

See above.
For whatever this kid knows, I seriously doubt he's better connected than Jones, and Jones says he doesn't know whether Watson wants to play for the Panthers or not.
I suppose it's possible for a high school kid with a website to know something that an established reporter doesn't, but I'm kind of skeptical.
He’s not in HS, he’s actually attending Clemson.

I thought it was the Jets...after it was the Dolphins..
Those are the rumors because they have the draft capital + young QBs to make significant offers. Ultimately, it’s up to Watson since he has a no-trade clause.

Random guy in SC pretending to be a journalist probably not a solid source
You can choose to be skeptical, but no need to insult a guy who is establishing a career for himself in journalism. I’ll be more than happy to remove the thread if that’s the case. He’s a local who has connections within the organization (which is how he managed to get an exclusive interview with Pride Jr.) and local media.

And I'm sure he has no interest in generating web traffic for his site or his Twitter.
Sorry dude, but I'm skeptical.
And that’s absolutely fine, but you could say that just about any sports journalist.

I'm not so sure a freelance sports guy from South Carolina is what I'd call "a solid source".
I know him well enough, and I can say that he wouldn’t be pulling it out of thin air. He has a legit, well-connected source. All he’s saying is that there is mutual interest, which we haven’t heard concretely until now.

Per Adam Schefter, “In speaking to some teams, I don’t think this is going to deter anyone’s interest in trading for Deshaun Watson”
in Carolina Panthers
