  1. Jeez. I know I’m just a football novice, but I like to watch football and see the Panthers win once in a while. Did our QB play well? No. Did our secondary play well? No. Did we snap a long losing streak? Yes. Do I think that we are suddenly poised for a playoff run? God, no. But, let’s enjoy the win. It might be the last one for a while.

Name me a QB better than Cam that won't need to be groomed for 3 years?

There aren't many good options at QB. I wanted Carson Wentz. When I see a better option at QB than Cam available, I will let you know. Coaching upgrade is much easier than a QB upgrade over Cam atm.

My offensive core 5 I wanted to be building around in 2021 were Carson Wentz (trade), CMC (draft), Jonathan Taylor (draft), Hunter Henry (draft), and Stefon Diggs (draft).  I didn't get it my way, but I enjoy watching the players I wanted the Panthers to select succeed in the NFL. I would have stayed with Newton if I couldn't get Wentz. Instead, we ended up with Gross-Matos, Vernon Butler, and Devin Funchess. Glad we have Abdullah now. I wanted him in the draft as a compliment on offense and special teams.

Good point. I’m just trying to think outside the box, which, considering I was never in the box, football-wise, is pretty clear in my naive post.

  3. I actually taught him twice in high school. He's enormous, smart, and has a huge personality. He has an incredible influence on people around him, and he loves working with people to accomplish a goal. What does that matter in terms of professional football, you ask? I think it translates to a young man who is savvy, physical, and charismatic. His energy and work ethic are contagious, and I would love to see him in a Panthers uniform.

  4. If Tepper would come out and say something like, "This is a re-building process, and we are in year two of a four-year plan", I might be more patient. But he hasn't demonstrated that there is a master plan in place. Some of the early-season moves made it seem like the Panthers wanted to win now, but without an offensive line and realistically good quarterback, did any of us really think so? Taking Darnold was a gamble. Don't investment people live on gambles? It was a bad one. Bringing in Cam was desperate. Everyone knew it. Cam cannot hide the fact that the offensive line needs a lot of work. Until there's a good O-line and a solid QB, we're going to struggle.
