The more I think about it now.....the more I believe Sam will get one final shot next season and if he does not make a dramatic jump in improvement, they'll just not re-sign him.

In the meantime, this sh*t needs to be turned around in a hurry.  The Giants could(*COULD*) be the perfect Tonic for that but as the team proved, so could the Panthers for other teams.

    Somethings gotta give.

We still have a lot of games left this season. If he keeps turning the ball over and has a record high in giveaways, I don't think he should return next season imo.

I actually think one of the biggest mistakes this coaching staff made this year was not bringing in any competition for Sam. At the very least they should’ve tried to get another young quarterback in to push Sam…for example like Trubisky. PJ is not that guy. Competition is good especially when you don’t have a proven starter.

A bigger mistake was not drafting Justin Fields. We would not have been good this year, but we would have a rookie getting some experience and our 2nd rd pick next year. Instead we gave up both of those for the guy who was the worst QB in the league for the past three years.

I think Darnold hasn't bottomed out either, its gonna get worse. He will get replaced by PJ at some point.

True, but if we make a push for a new center and either LG or LT, this team is primed for a vet QB the way the Rams were IMO.  I would hope to think a vet QB could help Joe Brady.  Brady's inexperience is also why I feel we've avoided rookie QBs with Rhule.

I still do not want to give up two firsts for a 30 something year old QB. Would rather draft a QB on a rookie deal if we move on from Darnold after the season.

if we are to have any success with Sam we are essentially have to build a team like the 2019 49ers. Build a solid o-line and a great defense and keep Darnold within the system and make him never take chances unless the chance of success is close to 100 percent.

Getting the O-line fixed is a priority but the defense needs better depth also.

Every QB needs a 2019 49ers, not just Sam. Dak Prescott hasnt done anything special today, he has had all the time in the world to throw.

I think the line getting there ass handed too the can be a good thing if it creates change but I don’t think it will

I don't see how either of our lines will get any stronger from now to when we could potentially rematch this team. Wont be able to get more talent until after the season is over.

Just curious, who would've looked good with the way the O-Line has blocked the 2nd half? No one would look good behind this line right now, idc who they are.

The defense cant get off the field, and our Oline is struggling. Coaches being out coached. Sam is just trying to make a play. I don't really put a lot of blame on him when we are literally struggling in every facet today.
