Tepper is keeping Rhule so he doesn't have to admit he f*cked up.

This may be the case, but the other part of his ego that wants so badly to win and make the playoffs is hopefully going to win out.

Rhule screwed up the draft last year by not picking Parsons or Slater,(whom I rooted for to pick)and both ruled in their rookie season. It was obvious this was going to happen, so how do football guys miss the obvious?  Because they aren't very good! Both he and Fitts need to be fired Monday morning!

They're gonna just draft more busts, so I would never give up one of four good players to acquire two more Vernon Butlers or Corn Elders.

But this is exactly how Fitts thinks, two for one, no matter to him the two are lesser talents, only, look mom, two for one, that's what counts.

Trade the 6th for no lower than 12th and draft the best lineman. If no wants to trade go for that top center.

    Sell your PSLs?

    Not go to any games?

    Stop watching the games?

    Burn your Panthers merch?

Personally I’m already at an all time low of interest, in that I mean my faith in this group of people currently in charge of the team will not have any success in my opinion.

I’ll just continue putting more of my fan energy into Austin FC who I believe will be a far more successful MLS franchise than anything David Tepper’s soccer team will ever accomplish. Mark my words on that.

I have rooted for the Chargers for decades but never followed them, but if the Rhule clown show returns I'm going to root for the Panthers and follow the Chargers.

I want to see us head for Eric Bieniemy or Byron Leftwich as our first stops. While it does satisfy the Rooney Rule, more importantly you have two very good coordinators there, one defensive and one offensive.

You also have two former NFL players who are genuinely respected by their players and peers. They understand how to work with the players at this level, they know how to evaluate those players and they have a deep number of contacts at the professional level. That's a big plus over the current regime.

In addition, both have coached at the championship level. Both are incredibly familiar with the two leading teams in the league, how they are run, what their overall approach to team building is and both well trained in running the show on game day.

The knocks against the two can be pretty heavy. Byron is young for a head coach, but that's less of a problem anymore than it once was. Bieniemy is the right age, but he has some legal issues in his past that could rear an ugly head at some point. That may have been what has kept him from a HC gig so far in this day of hyper scrutiny and revenants coming back to get folks.

Still, I want to see us start there and I'd be very happy with either of these guys. Honestly, I'd love to see Leftwich here. I think his familiarity with the NFCSouth is a big help, particularly his knowledge of those pesky Buccaneers.

Eric Bieniemy, I second that pick, he was one of two I wanted last time.

I am gladly eating crow on this because I was not sold on Coach Rhule due to:

    1) Comes from lower tier college programs, never won anything at either of them and thought his ra ra speech would not translate to the NFL

    2) Wasn't sold on his coaching staff, two unknown coordinators with limited to no NFL experience, thought Snow as a guy who the game passed him by

    3) Didn't like how he handled Cam, thought to myself how could he run out of town an NFL MVP and not give him a season to prove

    4) Didn't believe in all his analytics stuff, thought this guy was a copy of Chip Kelly and his "system"

Well, I am here to say I am wrong. I think Matt Rhule may end of being the best coach in Panthers history. In addition, I give credit to Tepper, it appears he went "The Steelers Way" in finding his version of a young Bill Cowher who will coach this team for 10-15 years.

    You're a Saints fan aren't you?

I tried to give him a chance, but this offseason he blew it. Drafting a cornerback instead of Slater or Fields was a dumbshit move that tanked our season. Also trading a 2nd + more for a QB that's in the same tier as Teddy was also fuging terrible.

Not drafting Slater was a hideous gaff. Then cutting Greer in favor of his Temple boy was another silly gaff, boy, could we use Greer now. Fitts needs to trade Brady for Greer before the deadline.

I've given Sam the benefit of the doubt but he is now as bad as Clausen was.

I think I'm ready to see if PJ can at least make this offense look semi competent.

Saying you're ready for PJ is the same as saying you're ready for a 3-14 season. Suck it up!

Stupid move. S.D needs all the help he can get. Decent TE who could actually get   open and catch the ball. Definitely could have used him the last two weeks. Need him  much more then the bus load of corners we now have.

Well champ, Henderson hasn't even played yet so lets give him a few games before we judge that trade. As to Arnold, seems he has a lot of relatives on this website who think of him as Greg Olson Jr., he isn't so move along.

I think the most troubling thing about this season is down right lack of adjustments. Every week it's "Oh we didn't see that coming". Or the lack of any adjustments to offense or the defense side of the ball. Talk me down cause I'm seriously loosing faith in this coaching staff.

We all know Rhule was the wrong hire, it should have gone to the guy who went to the Browns.

  10. Did anybody watch Monday Night Football last night?

The smart move would be to start Walker Sunday because with this pitiful OL there is likely a repeat of what happened to Justin Fields on Sunday which increases the chance of Sam having a season ending injury.  In fact, activate Morgan so that if Walker goes down we send in the 3rd stringer and to be really safe make Sam inactive. Keep him off the field at all cost.

And do you Panther fans now see why last spring I was pushing for the team to draft Parsons?

I know we all have been digesting losing two key players today but no one has really talked about this. Studies have shown both hamstring and foot injuries happen more on artificial turf than natural. I understand Teppers want to change because of many factors but he might have just caused us to see increased injuries as well as being really poor for the environment as well. Either way I just wanted to open a discussion about this.

Yes, a certain detail slipped your mind but you and everyone else seems to be ignoring the short 'week' for influencing at least CMC's injury. Maybe Burris too.

The two main elements to being an offensive coordinator are play calling and play design.

Right now I feel better about Brady's play designs than I do his playcalling, but I do feel like he's improving.

You nailed it Scot, and both are better than last year since last year he was a roaring failure, now he's much closer to being an NFL OC.

Nah Slater was my 1b to Horn. Was surprised we went Horn I thought for SURE we were gonna go Slater. Slater is damn good. Technique like no other. This isn't a surprise with him, this was expected.

Amen to your post Rags, for me it was still a win of sorts since the Bolts are the team I root for in that other Conference. Seems our GM was more concerned with trading down than drafting the best/most needed player.

I’ve been saying it for over a year , he is extremely overrated. If he gets an HC job, good, let him go.

I was sooooo disappointed last winter that no one hired him to be their headcoach. The guy is somehow still living off that one season at LSU, certainly not off anything he's done with the Panthers. He needs to go.

I hope he wasn't a Preseason warrior.  Seems he dropped a couple of passes that he caught in Preseason.  They were contested throws I will admit but during the preseason he came up with those catches.

Hopefully, it was rookie nerves and plays well later on.

I'm still very high on him, I think he can be a beast.

    Thoughts

As i pointed out when he was drafted, the kid had a bit of a rep for dropping catches in college.
