  1. The report confirming that the Panthers were indeed about to get Stafford before the Rams jumped in puts us in a strange position. We can’t keep TB on the roster this year. If we do it will cause turmoil between the staff and him/players because of known lack of confidence. It let’s other teams know we are borderline desperate meaning any trade whether it be draft or with a vet will squeeze out more than it should. We need someone with (literal) brass balls to finalize something before or early in the draft to keep unnecessary drama from arising.

  2. I mean if we can’t get something done pre draft and there’s nobody but Mac Jones at 8 I would trade down get and extra 2nd and or 3rd depending on how far down we go. Call Jacksonville offer them a 3rd for Minshew and keep it moving. Looking at his contract even keeping TB wouldn’t hurt and we would have a fallback. Yes it’s not the preferred scenario but if we can’t make the best move or even a decent alternative trade wise before the draft or even get someone in the draft what would be a better scenario?

  3. Tb wasn’t horrible by any means. Like Dennis Green said (TB) was he who thought he was. Sad thing is we overcompensated in comparison to the Saints. They have a playoff team that even a mediocre to bad QB could go in and look decent. It happens, you learn form it. Sad thing is Tepper is going to lose 20 million in the process of learning to equate to next to nothing, but that should motivate him to be more stringent evaluating significant decisions like that again and leave it up to some one with a track record that is favorable.

  4. He saw something this year like we all did. We are a QB away from being a playoff caliber teams and a defensive player or 2 away from being a threat to shake things up in the playoffs. Why would you not want to adjust to the scenario instead of being complacent. This tells me he had faith in Rhule but thought it would take longer and didn’t expect him to translate to the NFL as well as he did in year 1. He is not perfect but he is in the top 20 of production in comparison to his peers last year. How we handle the personnel this year will tell us if he’s capable of sustaining the foundation to build from.

  5. I feel this was all Hurney. Making the suggestion to let go of Cam and get TB since Brady would need someone slightly familiar with his offense to flourish. Tepper took the advice and it in turn was the final straw that broke the camels back. There is nobody else in the organization that could’ve made the decision, only influenced it. We now have to reconcile differences and try to make up for it sooner than later. It seems more likely we will make another rash decision at QB, to get TB off the books because of this report coming out and the lack of confidence Rhule showed in him down the stretch. I just hope we do not make another mistake with QB like this and just put our faith in a QB in the draft to keep the future of the salary cap in a good position.

  6. I still don’t understand how people can be a Hurney apologist. This man has been the franchises Achilles for decades. I wonder how soon we will see a difference in the quality of Free Agent signings, what homegrown talent we can retain and how the contracts look in the next 5 years. Not all teams hit on having a FO that can be with a team for the long haul. We had one in the previous regimes but lost the best part of it to the Bills. Tepper is hopefully keen on making decisions for the betterment of the business and the quality of the product the team is putting on the field rather than staying complacent and just bringing in profit.

  7. So for everyone so gung ho about getting Watson by any means, please elaborate how we rebuild the team to be competitive. When would we start to see a turn around. How would we afford his contract and Teddy’s if hes not part of the offer. How do we replace CMC and Shaq for example? What do we do about Moton and Samuel. What will our cap space look like. Do we restructure contracts to have space to sign more people now and try to win now? What positions do we focus on in the later rounds of the draft? I do not understand how people do not see this as being a huge risk for us and putting us in a worse circumstance than we were in before. A generational talent at QB with next to nothing as a supporting cast. Do we really want to go down this road again but with less draft capital to fix it and a way worse cap situation. Come on people stop thinking like one of the worst fan bases in the NFL and be patient and trust the process and stop window shopping for shiny cool looking poo you clearly cant afford.

  8. Y’all are so quick to trade CMC and mortgage the future. DO you not realize that would put us in the same situation Watson just left. We already have less talent than the Texans. Why would we put ourselves in a position to be worse just to win a dick measuring contest to have a top QB.

  9. Had of you belittling the guy have no room to talk. The amount of incoherent comments and posts on here tell me if that were y’all up on the podium you’d get stage fright also. Some of the most qualified people are terrible at public speaking. Has any of you ever heard Elon Musk, that poo is almost in are me to watch. His credentials got him the job for whatever reason and he will either fail or be successful on the football field. Who gives a poo what he says at a press conference.

  10. Stafford would be worth it to trade if TB was involved and no first round pick. If this was the case I would be more comfortable taking a chance on someone like Lance. I really want Kyle Pitts at 8 or trade down if we feel he will last until later. If a Stafford trade doesn’t work out which I feel it wont since the Colts will most likely give up their first for him, I wouldn’t mind taking on Sam Darnold for a 2nd or 3rd if the Jets go for Fields. No harm in seeing if the guy has it even after Gase especially when this year TB can’t be cut unless we just wanna say fug 20 million. All I know is this isn’t the last year we will have a chance at a decent QB. I know everyone is upset about the fact we lost out on the 3rd pick but honestly I feel we would’ve fuged it up and gotten Fields. Unlike the rest of this forum I have 0 trust in OSU QBs in the NFL.

  11. I like the roster make up of the team Rhule is coaching. He gets to have a long look at some quality mid to late round talent that consist of the likes of,

    Carlos Basham JR

    Janarius Robinson

    Jabril Cox

    Monty Rice

    Alex Leatherwood

    KJ Britt

    Ben Cleveland

    Shi Smith

All these guys I have been reading about for mid to late round picks would be great additions they all fit the mold of what we are building here. Any other names jump out to you guys that you can’t wait to see numbers come back from their pro days or more insight on them.

  12. Prior to pro days being held by colleges for their draft prospects, I would like to throw a name out there that I hope we are looking at. Raymond Johnson III from Georgia Southern. He’s kind of a diamond in the rough but has the intangibles I feel we could really use. He fits along with the types of players we have drafted to use for a Monroe dynamic and quicker defense. A stronger version but akin to the Marquise Haynes and Christian Miller type 3-4 OLB but this guy has the power and consistency to be special in the stopping the run like Obama. I don’t see him too high in mocks yet at highest maybe the 5th and that’s fine. With no combine until GA Southern showcases him and the other guys that declared for the draft we won’t know how high the league is on him. GA Southern has had a little run of solid players coming out the past few years and I feel he is another. Hopefully we do our due diligence on him especially with bringing over someone from the Seahawks and how they approach the later rounds.

Current active NFL players from GA Southern, while modest the list is pretty surprising in the consistency and quality.

  13. There are a lot of expected movements this year for teams needing a QB and what’s available early. We have one signed for next year so the preferred method may be in the draft. If Wilson or Fields were to fall I’d say move up. Doubt either will be there at 8 but you never know. I feel the safest bet would be Stafford, it just depends on the cost and how to include TB or get rid of him in another manner. The most realistic scenario is we keep TB draft a QB late 2nd or later depending on who’s there and play it out until next year. There are QBs coming out next year and other options to sign, this year isn’t the be all end all for QBs guys so just relax and stop thinking you know better than our FO. This isn’t Marty Hurney we are dealing with here.

You can spend all the money you want, it doesn't guarantee anything.

By spend money I didn’t mean on just players but also other intangibles that our organization doesn’t have the benefit of like others. Our FO has been lacking for years and that is the foundation of success spending money there for the right people is the start and thats what Tepper has been doing so far.

  15. This fan base needs to stop crying so much about what ifs. Let time take it’s course if our owner wants to win as bad as he says he does he will spend money to find a way. If not maybe another city will enjoy this team more than the spoiled brats that can’t seem to look on the bright side for once.

  16. It’s funny how so many that were clamoring for Watson were ready to give up our best player and multiple 1st rounders, up to 3 for Watson, who has proven NOTHING. Stafford has been to the playoffs. Been through turmoil and has never been terrible. Yes he’s never won a championship but do you see the teams that they have fielded in Detroit. Stat wise Stafford did better than Watson with less. Stafford is still decently young for a QB and even with the injuries is worth a shot. Now if we picked higher and had a shot at Wilson or Fields I’d prefer them but at 8 Lance may or may not be there. Do we reach for Jones? There are so many options. Best case scenario is we give them a 3rd this year and next years 1st for Stafford and toss them Teddy too. In a perfect world Wilson is right there staring at us. The FO needs to take a long look at what it would take to get Stafford and really contemplate it, because if they don’t the Colts (for example) gladly will.
