We'd probably win about 6 games with Jimmy G unless he can bring the rest of the Niners' roster and staff with him. He's a bad QB in a great organization. Take him and bring him here... 6 wins.

Wow your more of an idiot then I thought you were last year. The roster of people being hurt? What running back were they on? At one point they had the most players on IR in the NFL. Learn facts before you spit or your just a load swallower. I assume you think Rhule wants to run RPO style offense to huh?

Dude. You don’t give up multiple firsts to move up and draft and rookie who barely played in college if you think you have your guy. Remember Kyle Shannan with Matt Ryan? I think they maybe made a super bowl and mvp or something like that. Remember Belichick? I think he coached up a pretty good QB in New England or something.  So 2 HoF level coaches have now willingly moved on from him.

some coaches elevate QBs. Rhule is not one of them. You’d be disappointed if you are just looking at records and think that will translate here with this coaching staff. I swear most fans should stick to Madden

Yeah it's for the future numnuts. They moved up because of Jimmy G injury history. But where was Lance last year...oh yeah sitting and learning. I watched him in college many times. They wouldn't of won 5 games with him last year. Same they did with Mahomes. Same as they tried to do with Fields. Give them a year. Jimmy G is a band aid. But is a professional. Taught by the GOAT. Why he is going to be a teacher for someone younger. But time to build thru the draft the missing other pieces. I hope we get Watson and he wins us 6-8 games a year but by gosh he is going to score them fantasy points for your team. I thought Chief fans were morons her in Missouri. Ya'll make these gun toten hillbillies look like geniuses. Have a great evening. Best of luck. We will enjoy the basement for the next 5 years.

Look at Jimmy G's playoff stats. He averages like 137 passing yards and has a negative TD:INT ratio. His team has overcome his terribleness.

And you can still sit there and worry about your fantasy stats and watch us win 6 games. Aren't you tired of seeing all these pocket passing qbs in the playoffs every year? Let's see...Stafford, Brady, Mahomes, Brady, Foles, Brady, Manning, Brady, Russ, Flacco, Eli, A-Rod. Last 12 qbs to win super bowl. All of them besides Russ and Mahomes are considered pocket passer. Don't even look 10 years before that or you will cry.

This makes zero sense to me. Why? Just roll with Darnold one more year and get our guy early next year. Jimmy G maybe gets us 2 more wins than Sam

Haha. Have you ever looked at his overall record? He is 31-14. Granted he has been hurt alot.(Scary) His 2 full years..13-3 and 9-6. 6-2 in the playoffs. 6 games per year against the Rams, Hawks and Cards. And how many injuries did the 49ers have this year?  Yup maybe just 2 more wins on a team built similarly. Most fans should stick to Madden and Fantasy.

I mean DW has what overall record? 28-25 in the absolute worst division in football for the last 10 years. 6 games against Jags, Colts and Titans. Sounds comparable.

Rip Madden. Your name is an icon for Brawndo drinkers worldwide.

Thats pretty much where I'm at.  Watson would have been exciting, but if we trade for Jimmy G or Baker that's just awful.  Best to just stay out of that market now.

I agree with you on staying put I think he are like many who hate Jimmy G. He isn't flashy. He makes some bone head throws and decisions. Fact is he is 6-2 in the playoffs. With a team built on running the ball and playing solid defense. Sounds exactly the quarterback Rhule would want for his offense. Fantasy football is for stats..Playoffs are for wins. It's something he has proven to do when healthy. Something Watson hasn't achieved. Nor Baker. Nor our beloved Cam. Draft Sam Howell and let him sit a year or 2 behind Jimmy G. JG knows he is nothing but a band aid. And him and that fella in K.C. have both said they were thankful to sit and learn from great PROFESSIONAL QBs.

Definitely less of a Temple/Baylor type player

You definitely are very incorrect with that statement. Temple ran a 22 personal set that ran the ball down people's throats. Rhule adapted the RPO when he went to Baylor because that is what Texas HS offenses look like and those were the kids there at Baylor. This is more of a Temple type of player than anything. Do you want to see an offense that Rhule wants.....go watch Tennessee. That's east coast football. Run the ball and be stout on defense with a game manager type qb..I mean that has won quite a few championships over the years. Patriots anyone

How many losses with Watson at QB before people can flame this move? 5 losses in a row? 10 losses on the season?

He has had 1 winning streak and 3 losing streaks in his career to this point.

I think people are falling in love with the Watson fantasy and do not realize how little he has accomplished and how close he is to the end of his career. His play style ends at 30 and not 40. He will have to develop into a pocket passer to have success into his 30s.

Imagine getting a 27 year old lesser accomplished version of Cam Newton. Getting 1 or 2 more good seasons and then the QB talk begins again. Watson has a very small window to win with.

I hope I'm wrong and he is at least as good as Aaron Rodgers until he is 40.

Watson isn't a qb that lifts his play up when needed. That's what a true leader does. Rises to the occasion. Watson rises for the 5 dolla suckie sucky and its gonna cost him millions to these women. Voodoo Poonani is dangerous.

  8. I find it interesting it's always Rhule and Tepper that take the heat from this forum. Don't forget the bum of a GM we have. He had a big part in turning Russ into a McDonald's hamburger. He spent years in Seattle with a great qb to never build an offensive line to keep him upright. Do you think he will do that here? If you do, then your a fool in your own right. Bring whomever in to play qb and he will run like he stole a happy meal from the Grimace with our line. Until it's fixed, we won't come out of the basement. 5 wins will be a great season lol. Might as well stick with Sam instead of wasting money and picks for someone to get pummeled. Even Brady gets rattled when he gets pressured..and he is the goat. Put him on our team we might win 9 games. If he doesn't lose a leg or a limb before the preseason is over.

  9. Personally, I think he would be the best choice for the franchise. He is the best deep ball passer in this draft. Last year, with depleted talent around him, he used his legs. In 2020, he didn't have to and had a much better statistical year. The kid is a gritty player and doesn't have a quit attitude. However, don't give him the keys. Sign a qb like Fitz to show the kid the ropes. Not a drama mama. Or even better yet sign Tyrod and hurt him...the last 4 guys are all looking pretty salty lol. I wonder how many qbs would have never been drafted with these "science" analytics. Old saying rings true...not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. Plus being the local kid would rejuvenate a fan base.

  10. Not to find decent OL help. I mean we are talking about the same leader who allowed Russ to run for his life most of his career. The trenches are where the games are won. Rhule wants 2 things, run the ball and stingy defense. He has done a pretty good job on the defense side of the ball, imo. Need a few more pieces tho. We passed on Trey Smith and Creed Humphries last year even knowing we needed help. Not including Slater. Imagine if we had those 3 and Moton. SamCam might have actually done better.

Sure I would have loved to have a quarterback like Russ for all those years too. And many of the defensive players they had drafted too. I just was saying they have blanked many drafts as well. Maybe we have the duo to find stars. Maybe rhule is smarter than Carroll. Idk. I'm excited for this year to see what everyone looks like.

  12. 3 hours ago, Moo Daeng said:

Why assume Fitterer and Rhule will make decisions exactly like Schneider and Carroll?

Brandon Beane is doing fine from under bums like Hurney and Gettleman

Seattle, has been notorious to trading back for more picks. What did we do this year?

If you actually look at the draft classes, Since Fitterer arrived in Seattle in 2001, they have had 4 drafts total with 7 picks or less. Til this year. Many years they had        9 -11 picks. That is alot of misses. I hope it works for us way better than it did for Seattle.

  13. 1 hour ago, Daddy_Uncle said:

Yeah Fitterer wasn't running those drafts so its completely irrelevant

Mr. Uncle, he was assistant GM. Do you think he didn't have a big say in the draft. He may have not had the final say, but he is right there for these drafts. Since 2001. So I'm sure there is relevance. Maybe just not to you and your thoughts. 😉😁

I know alot of people, are excited to see a different approach to this year's draft. I believe it was more exciting for us. However, that being said, The Seahawks haven't had the best of drafts in recent years...They have had a few very good drafts back in the day of Russ. But since then, not very many names that you might even know. Not sure if this philosophy was that fruitful building long standing players. But hey at least it was exciting and gut wrenching. Hope they all pan out. Doubt it..But here is to 2021.

I love where we are now at G, DT, CB, and even TE (Arnold, Tremble).  We have NEVER been this good at WR, and CMC and Chuba could rival the Double Trouble side show from a decade ago.  I feel better about OT, QB, and special teams.

That's a very bold comment about never. If your speaking about depth sure. I mean if your sold on Moore and a now drafted player who hasn't played a down yet. DJ is great But he is no Smitty and Anderson is a different receiver than Moose. I'd rather have Moose. They stand head and shoulders over the 2 we have and maybe with our whole wr room. Oh the old days. Excited to see what this year brings however. Just bold saying NEVER.

I commented late on a previous thread, and doubt many of you read this, so I will repeat it here.  My thought on Tremble is that he is a big piece of the puzzle that -- now assembled -- will show a pretty unstoppable offense.  He is not a skill player; he is an enabler that will serve to heighten their skills.  They also serve who only block.

This is a FANTASTIC scheme fit!

You guys who are fixated on his hands, his drop rate, etc. are way off the mark.  He wasn't drafted to catch passes.

There's been talk about Armah and Tolbert, but they're not the comparisons to make.  Go back further, back to the days of Double Trouble (probably a lot of you weren't around then)  How do you think Stewart and Williams gained over 1,000 yds each in 2009?

It was because of the mammoth holes in the DL that were created by Brad Hoover.

    ("Hooooov")

This young man loves to block like Hoover did, and CMC will be looking at second level space like never before.  Or put the kid in motion from the right side and let him chip the DE to help out our LT.

This is a brilliant draft choice, and fits our scheme maybe better than it would any other team in the league

Hooooov is my all time favorite panther of all time. Loved his grit and his do my job attitude. And he could fill in when their were injuries with "double trouble" not that he would produce big numbers but he always pulled his weight. Miss ol 45.

You guys are sleeping on Tommy Tremble. That man is a monster. His hands are adequate, but the way we use our TE is similar to the 49ers is Their FB, Jucyszk.

He going to giving Mccaffrey all kind of running room, opening up lanes on the edge in the run game. Not only that but as a stalk blocker for our WRs who could house it at any moment.

This gives our athletes on the edges the much needed protection we've been waiting for. He's not a Pro-Bowl Tackle, or a Travis Kelce WR. But he's one of those players who does the dirty work, and loves to do it. And does it Nasty. He's Grimey. And that's exactly the type of player we need at that position even if he Nevers grows outside of a high level blocker.

He may not be great in all aspects, but he's the type of Roll player that makes guys like CMC hall of famers.

You are correct sir. He is a maller. I remember a Tight end who was a similar type who became one of the best ever. Jason Witten. If he can match half of Witten's career was, he will be a huge steal even in the 3rd round. He is gonna make the Defense ends tremble with fear. Also he helps with our possible weak bookends at tackles if Moton gets hurt. And Witten...wait for it..was a 3rd rounder.

  18. JJ just signed a 1 yr contract in March. Maybe the kid we drafted is for next year. Not sure what we are going to do. At least he was smart. Get good at a talent, makes a million a year, and get what many don't receive in the NFL, Fully vested retirement. Congrats dude and thank you for your amazing talent. Not 1 bad snap since season opener of 2010!!!

    • Panthers re-signed long snapper J.J. Jansen to a one-year deal.

Jansen, who was slated to become a free agent next week, will stay in Carolina, where he's played all 16 regular season games with the Panthers every season since 2009.

  19. Has anyone else noticed how many of the local college players closest to the hometown team, have been picked. Probably due to travel restrictions for the scouts to see outside talent. Just like the last 2 picks.
