honestly I hate the 3-4 and hope we switch back to 4-3 permanently. If Evero can't run a 4-3 then find someone else to do it.

I understand this sentiment. But at the same time, with the right pieces in place the 3-4 can be just as effective. But you need really good linebackers and edge guys in that system. And they have to be players that can adapt to different roles.

The simplicity of the 4-3 makes it effective. When the 3-4 is set up right, it can be more effective if the coach is creative with his pieces. It's more adaptable in pass/run scenarios. Where the 4-3 can be exposed in 3 receiver sets, and forces you to go nickel. That's where Ron lost a lot of games bc the Nickelback would get exposed. Think the falcons game when they kept marching up Julio against Bene Benwickere.

The 3-4 can bring a safety in the box play single high and run any zone coverage from there. So it really is just a system, the Individual matters so much more than the system.

  2. Here is my view of the new hire. It's been a while, since I've seen a coach that actually seems to have something between the ears. Even Ron and John( sounds like a place to get some crablegs) coached more on a heavy defensive influence with an offensive strategy that was traditional.

I see Canales being able to not re-invent the wheel, but adapt to the situation. Something we have never seen from a coach.

Another thing I like so far is his ability to speak. I could see the players listening, and learning more with a guy like this. The pro game is cerebral and I think we finally have a coach with a brain. One that is young, interested in proving himself, which should keep him on his toes and motivated which then will rub off on the team. I'm optimistic, cautiously of course, bc well, Panthers gone Panthers. But if we can get some talent on this roster, I think he is a guy that could lead us to some wins again.

and to be clear, not defending Reich or saying he shouldn't have been fired. it just looks absolutely horrible for us. and it'll look way worse when Reich comes out and says that Bryce was Tepper's pick

If I'm Frank, and that is the case I would most definitely call out every bit of hypocrisy that came out from this.

Only part about that though, is that he probably doesn't want to say anything that would make Bryce seem worse than his film has looked.. none of this is really his fault IMO. He has some blame for his lack of improvement, but coaches and those that surround him haven't offered him many bail outs.

  4. One can hope.

I gave Reich every opportunity. And idk how much play he had in personnel. But the talent on this offense is awful. Our On-line actually held up(for their standards) and it just proves that we have no weapons. I think Bryce can be our guy. But not under this scheme or with these weapons. Why on earth did anyone think this could be a competitive roster is questionable?

Yup. But with this "blow up" he is averaging the following:

3.16 catches a game on 5.67 targets per game, for 32.5 yards per game.

552.5 yards for the year on 96.39 targets and 53.72 catches is what he is on pace for. This doesn't seem bad but when you compare it to the other rookie WRs he's sandwiched between its not as good. But this is his first game over 50 yards and he still has no TDs so we are hoping his performance today was a sign of greater things.

Don't think anyone said it was a blow up. He had a good game..I think the problem is most of this fan base lacks the understanding that it takes time for guys to develop. And even then it requires the proper conditions for it to happen. Players have historically been slow to reach their potential in Charlotte.

    Give the dude some props.

And we were shitting on Levis all off season 🙄

It's one game. He's throwing every thing to one of the best receivers to play in quite some time. And defenses have no idea what to expect from the guy.

One game of football means absolutely nothing. It's a sign, that he might can do it. That's about it

We have decent beaches besides that it's not a glamour market. People on the outside think we are just a country farm backwoods state which is honestly kind of accurate.

The mountains are great. Got a great history. People that think that we are a country farm backwoods state don't have a clue what that even looks like then.

Yeah there are rural areas but every state has that. I guess people would only find it cool if there was night life, and plenty of places to get poo faced. Which honestly, is kind of lame.

  9. Yeah not sure why we are bashing the state. The state overall is one of the better ones in the country. Has a little bit of everything to offer, and is growing economically. Alot of California transplants moving here to get away from the West Coast political crap shoot. But athletics in pro sports definitely has been spotty at best. The college ranks breeds great pro players though, we just can't seem to find the right combination in management to put together a winning solution. That's not a location problem, that's a people problem.

I'll always bleed blue and love the state in which I was born. But also not naive enough to recognize the fact we lack where others don't.

  10. Thought I'd give us a little flashback of the good times, since the new age Panthers leave us hanging so much. Back when keep pounding didnt sound like such a non-binary (that's the proper way to say Gay now) term. Back when it meant something to the team, and what it represented.

It's a special release from a Local Distillery near the Statesville area "Southern Star". Pretty cool, because they brought bourbon back to NC the way it was made back in the day. So thought it was fitting they released a tribute to the '03 Panthers NFC Championship squad and 1 of the 2 teams as well all know who made it to the Superbowl. The one that got away IMO. Damn you Kasay. You were so good your whole career and all I can remember was that kick.

Cheers fellow Panthers fans. There was a time where this board, team and fan base had something to stand on. Here's to hoping we have another time like that in our near future.

This one was hand-signed by Mike Rucker and fan Favorite Moose!

    Still a die-hard unfortunately.

  11. Why is their loyalty to poo like this? I myself was there. I was loyal to all things Carolina. Sat through the Clausen days to reap the rewards of Newton and Luke. But in all honesty that ended in a let down too. The older I get the more I realize while I love the game of football, there is so much more I should pledge my loyalty to. I lost my mother in May she loved football and was a diehard Dallas fan, bless her heart. But while we used to bond over football and talk junk on Sundays. I wish I could've taken more of those Sundays just to spend with her. Put what's important first, commit to your family and your personal growth. And then worry about this sorry ass franchise.

What's going on in Charlotte in moving down on the list of my priorities the more rotations I cycle on this earth, and I will no longer let the ineptitude frustrate me any further. I'll always be a fan, but I should change my user to meh I'm a Panthers fan.

  12. The Panthers are not fine. Bryce is not fine. All hope of this team being competitive is not existent. When you can't score points in today's NFL you have no hope. I don't care how good your defense is. If a team can score two TDS on you and win decisively it is fugging embarrassing.

Who knows Bryce may turn it around. But not with this coaching staff, WRs or OLine.

  13. The more I watch the more sick I get. I don't even look forward to football much anymore, usually fantasy football helps me weather the Panthers ineptitude but injuries and missing my other leagues draft have left me in an awful spot there too. So all I can think about is what can we do to turn this poo show around.

We have got to promote within. I see flashes of good play underneath the layers of poop that Reich has put together. Our defense is playing very, very well despite injuries and guys like burns only giving 50% effort. Evero is the answer. Both years we went to a Superbowl was with a DC. I think our current DC is the answer now. Reich has got to go. Promote Evero to HC, let Brown be the OC like he should and not just be Reichs fall guy. And for the love of all things holy get rid of Scott Fitterer.

I truly believe that Evero could be the coach we have been missing though. Even though it's a pipe dream that we ever end up with the right guy. One can hope.

Until then you can find me watching Ron bring the "Skins" back to life with the QB we should've drafted last year. In the 5 round FFS
