there's zero chance of stroud looking like young did if the panthers drafted him.

it's one thing to be drafted by a losing team who can't get it's act together...it's another thing to look like you can't get your act together, and be one of the reasons as to why your team is losing.

stroud would have shown promise despite playing on a bad team. if young was drafted by the texans, they would have been asking the same question the panthers are asking...did we pick the right guy?

Not if we drafted him without moving up.

Houston had the #2 pick in the draft. Unless you're telling me their roster changed overnight then you may have a point.

Stroud>Bryce stop trying to find excuses to why one is better than the other. We call that coping.

Anyone who watches the games can see the clear difference in arm talent between the two QBs.

Not only the arm talent,  let me add:

Vision,  anticipation, awareness, height, athleticism what else?

The mega concerning thing with the footwork I've started to notice (that is at a much higher volume now):

Weight distribution is wonky and he's just not even setting/stepping up properly.  His feet are barely ever planted for routine throws.  For example on the early Mingo challenged catch, he throws that in a clean pocket, almost falling off his back foot.  And he could have been able to hit an easy 12 yarder if he didn't do his weird overly skip parallel drop back.  It's like he trips backwards on 80% of his throws.  It disrupts timing, and he's not planted when they're at the top of routes.  He's doing this on passes that are these quick outs and comebacks.

If you wanna see an example of how to do it right, check out Dak and Cousins.  Those two have some of the more disciplined mechanics in the league.  It's just bananas this is where we're at.  I can't believe this is a 1st overall pick.

If I had a nickel for how many throw Bryce steps into per game, I wouldn't be to get maybe 2 pieces of gum from the glass vending ball.

Face it,  he is the worst of the 1round qbs this year and when in doubt they should have gone with a more prototypical size...but oh well.

Saying someone had a disappointing year doesn’t make them comparable to Bryce.

Peyton Manning also rewrote the rookie record book while disappointing.  He still showed potential and reason to excited.  And he was a lab built NFL QB.

Trevor Lawerence’s starting WR is depth for Bryce Young.  Bryce’s skill talent is weak and yet better than Trevors.  His NFL debut was a 300 + yard game.  And he was a lab built NFL QB.

Burrow probably had the worst OL in the NFL and still went for 300+ in half his games.  And he was a lab built NFL QB

Bryce Young doesn’t have an elite NFL skill set like everyone else listed.   It stands out.  He has no special ability.  He has provided no hope.

Kicker is,  so is CJ Stroud...NFL lab QB.

Each group (ol, wr,qb) has good and bad reps. They just hardly ever have good reps at the same time.

Bryce is definitely slow in his drop backs and release many times which causes him to miss the open window.

Bryce is also getting swallowed up when the pocket collapses, which he can’t see or throw over.

I looked back at Russel Wilson and noticed he would sprint back 10+ yards when under center. My guess is he did this so he could see. Maybe Bryce should give that a try.

This sounds a lot like Sammy D? No?  Too soon?

  6. Both QBs looked the part.  I wasn't sold on Bryce until today...he looked comfortable and made good reads.  That drop by Mingo for the 1st down in the early part of the game was a great throw...Only if Mingo was Jordan Addison...better OL and weapons this team can go deep!

  7. 2800 yrds in 14 games

    21 td - 9 int

64.5% passing (his senior yr number)

He will miss games for little injuries

Low td numbers are expected I also belief he is good in terms of ints so 9 is vwry very good number for a rookie.  His td number will be conservative...more running tds and grpund game will be more featured, especially in thw first half the season.

Well to make it in the NFL you gotta have some “talent” right?

Yes,  I not comparing to any guy off the street.  My comment was as a NFL QB and thw verdict is...he is not special in any way.  I knew of him as an athlete from Southern Cal high school football.  Nothing in his game is special at NFL level, nothing.  ZERO.  Hence the comment, what talent?
