I get that he sucked last year, but the optimist in me ask how any QB would be successful last year, much less as a rookie. Things like this don’t just disappear. He has many many examples just a year prior that proves he can make throws anywhere on the field. His college tape is phenomenal.

Virtually everyone in the NFL  has 'great college tape'. It means nothing that he threw a long TD in college. We are yet to see him do it at the NFL level, nevermind consistently. I doubt we ever will.

We will not be using a 2nd on a RB.

I don't see how a pass catching RB Bryce can check down to wouldn't be a key ingredient to a turn away. Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard are JAGs. The rushing attack sucks and a big reason DEs could pen their ears back nearly every play.

  3. Am I crazy to think a (healthy) Mike Williams makes this team a fringe division contender? That would be three solid vet receivers on the team. Morgan was patched up the O-line. I don't think losing Burns will matter in the long run, and they can use the 2 seconds on either a RB or pass rusher or both and if (huge if) Bryce turns into a competent QB next year the season might not be a disaster.

To all the people saying we will guaranteed get at least a first for burns, here is me saying I told you so...

The fact many of us thought we would get a first rounder + either a somewhat good player or a 3rd/4th rounder was even more foolish.

Good for Burns though - he found a team foolish enough to give him a crazy contract.

Its crazy because it doesn't feel like the Giants are 'one piece away' or anything. They still need a QB. This is a CPU in Madden type of move for them.

Yep and look at next years QB class… it’s not good

I know they’re not but good lord they needed to do their homework on this years class. I’d take a QB at 33 and not think twice if someone falls

If Bryce didn’t look like absolute dog sh!t last year we wouldn’t be going full blown rebuild and taking on these crazy dead money hits

So they know Bryce ain’t it but will they actually take a swing at 33? I doubt it. Probably build an OL and get ready for next QB

They are going to tank for 2 years with Bryce, maybe 3. After 3 the roster will be NFL quality again and it would make sense to get another QB in the draft at that point.

  6. Draft the homegrown AJ Brown to add an immediate vertical threat for Bryce, keep Adam Thielen for short and intermediate stuff. Upgrade the running game and we might not be a dumpster next year. If nothing else drafting Tez would be a morale booster for the  fanbase. People will hype it up and there would be talks of “maybe we have our franchise QB and WR” from the draft until at very least mid August. The Tez offensive.

Olsen is a panthers legend for sure but at this point is it even arguable that Kelce isn’t the greatest TE in NFL history?

If he gets another ring this year he will have one less than gronk but his numbers are straight up better besides total touchdowns. If Kelce plays for 2-3 seasons he will surpass gronk on that one too.

I think there have been more dominant TEs. Tony Gonzales, Antonio Gates, Gronk. Kelce also hasn't had a year where he had to play with a terrible QB, and guys like Tony Gonzales played in an era where getting the TE involved in the passing game wasn't a focal point.
