The thing is, though.....Tampa, NO and Buffalo aren't as scary as they once were. There are definitely weaknesses to exploit in all those teams. Plus....we already beat New Orleans.

Thank you for saying that again! TB is not Tampa from last year plus they have NO DEFENSE, Trevor ain't gone beat our defense. We just need our offense to keep pace in games which I think they can now that Darnold is not under center. Sam Darnold always looked confused on the field and in the press conference. Like dude day dreaming about playing space rangers or something

    Apparently so.

Wait until the first loss, though.

They'll be jumping off the bandwagon real fast, I imagine.

I mean we should not forget that this whole situation(where we could have taken advantage of the weak schedule early to be 8-1 instead of where we are now) was brought about by him because of his decision to trade for Sam, not having a true backup to bench his ass, and his picking up of the 18 million dollar option.

With Cam, there is now a chance but Rhule just made things more difficult than they needed to be.

Once again no one is questioning his building skills it's his questionable decision making personally I still think Teddy was better than Sam but we let Teddy walk cuz he lost "close" games with a rookie defense smh

I don’t think Daley is capable of holding down LT. Our best bet is Erving getting healthy or BC stepping in. The most frustrating thing is Darnold taking up $18 million next year. That money could have been used on Reddick or Gilmore…

Can somebody tell me why the hell we picked that up in the first place despite the 3-0 start he wasn't playing that great then it was the defense and CMC mostly. I really hope they find a way to minimize that stupid idea hurting us

Players currently under contract through ‘22 season:

    QB- Darnold (yuck)
    RB- CMC, Hubbard
    FB- obsolete?
WR- DJ Moore, Anderson, Marshall, Smith, D. Moore
    TE- Tremble
    OT- Moton, Erving, Christensen
    OG- Daley, Brown, Moore
    C- Elflein

    DT- Brown, Roy, Nixon, Hoskins
    DE- Burns, Fox, YGM
    MLB- ????
    OLB- Shaq, ???
DB- Horn, Henderson, Bouye, Pride, Taylor, Thomas-Oliver
    S- Chinn, Franklin, Hartsfield

    Special teams: Fletcher, Charlton

    Free Agents [potential replacement]:
    Cam (QB) [?]
    Reddick (OLB) [?]
    Paradis (C) [Elflein?]
    Burris (SS) [Hartsfield]
D Jax & Gilmore (CB). [Bouye, Henderson]
    John Miller (RG). [Christensen/Brown]
    Ian Thomas (TE). [Tremble]
    J Carter (LB) [?]

The OL is it’s own animal, but in a dream scenario Daley can hold down LT and Elflein is serviceable at C. (Big assumptions, sure). I’ve been of the opinion that interior play has been worse than the tackles.

In that case, biggest remaining issues:

    - Glaring hole at QB1, perhaps that problem magically goes away if Cam plays well and takes a home team discount to extend

    - CB is loaded, not sure we can afford both D Jax and Reddick. If can only keep one, I’d prefer to keep Reddick. Good news is losing Jax could net a 3rd rounder in a ‘23 comp pick.

    - how much does it cost to keep Carter and/or upgrade MLB?

I’d argue our cap is in pretty good shape. Yes, “only” $35 mil in ‘22, but over $100 mil in ‘23 and beyond. We can do some trickery with extensions of good, young players to make it through next year.

Carter may not be exactly expensive to keep. Could franchise tag Jax and possibly structure a deal that's cap friendly for Reddick and pay Gilly now but the off season focus will be OL honestly Rhule has shown he likes to fix glaring holes although could get good picks out of the draft for OL I would hate to see them waste a pick on the QB situation

Yup 💯.  And it's why I keep saying had Darnold even been below average at QB, we would either be 8-1 or 9-0.  All the games we lost, especially Dallas, we couldn't score offensively which allowed the other team to run on us because they weren't under pressure to match our production, bc there was none.  If we're able to get up, or even score early, the other team can't slow the game down and run, which our defense isn't as great at stopping as we are the pass.  Now with Cam, we can play to our strengths.

As I said previously, Cam doesn't have to be 2015 Cam.  2020 Cam could put up MVP numbers with this supporting cast, and is plenty good enough to produce enough offense for us to win every game with the dominance of the defense we have.  These are truly exciting times.

I absolutely love this great explanation of how things were supposed to be if Sam could've moved the damn ball. My 10yr old can throw better than him. And those ungodly intentional groundings

Dallas looking like a second seed…losing their best DE will hurt.  They are amazing on offense but only decent on defense.  They have gotten turnovers on defense at an amazing rate.

Diggs has been an amazing draft pick for them.  Dude is amazing

I agree with that but let's be honest Dallas will find a way to lose especially in the playoffs

He'll get paid but would be willing to make it cap friendly, maybe a big bonus or whatever. D Jax is great but he's gotta take the most guaranteed while he's young and healthy. Keith Taylor is ballin, Horn will be back, AJ has another year. So Gilmore and Haason/Shaq the only big money vets on this D is a pretty great situation

Not sure about Hasson's deal and we can pick up Henderson option just like to have all of them if possible depth at that position is a premium

Yup, something like 3 years 36 million? Although it might mean letting Donte walk…

I highly doubt we do that especially with Scott in office and Tepper having tons of money this guy is relentless and wants to win as bad as we do but given our dumb ass history player decision making you never know

He’s been a breath of fresh air for us. What a player. We have GOT to resign him in the off-season. Honestly it should be pretty easy. He’s home and his wife is home and she seems pretty damn stoked to be living in Charlotte again, hell she graduated from Providence after all!

I can see us giving him a new deal he's super excited to be here and he mentioned he always wanted to play here

I have not heard 1 report about the dreaded Lis Frank, I think that’s fake news.

Only mention about it was the initial 8 weeks part realistically speaking I don't see him making a return unless we're in the playoffs it's not an easy injury to just get over he broke multiple bones in his foot

    Sneak?

I believe you meant kick the motherfuging door in to the playoffs.

My thoughts exactly our remaining schedule is not that bad and it seems like Tampa Tom is regressing and they don't have a great defense given the fact that it's gonna be Cam and not Sam we could legit win out and be 12-5

Rhule still burning dumbass time outs, hopefully Cam will help him relax and just be a sideline cheerleader or whatever he's good at. Still trying to figure out what Rhule excels at besides lying to the media

I'm still tryna figure that 1qt time out TD was that about
