And sure Tepper is incompetent and would rather rush a rebuild. But the man is doing everything he can to get a QB. Except fire the main reason that we might not get said QB. But alas. Here we are.

Why do people think Loomis has some kinda mythical prowess than nobody else can touch? The guy we have, Samir, is no damn slouch in the cap department himself.
Every franchise that is rumored other than the Panthers have better personnel. Don't you know?
Seattle that just traded away RW, and released their best defense player. They also have a worse O-Line, less weapons, and worse defensive players are all better than Carolina. Don't you know?
Rhule sucks. But come on fellas. Not every team is more talented, has a better roster, and has everything 10X better than the Panthers. It's just that we have a shitt HC right now.

Yeah and we only win 5 games, they win games with a rb lmao
We had the worst QB(s) in football. Is what it is.

Yeah I was thinking about that earlier, Kamara and CMC is pretty much a wash at this point. We definitely have the better WR corps and I'd venture to even say TEs bc of Tremble's potential. They have the better OL as of today, but I'm pretty sure we're laying out to him the plan of how we'll fix that this offseason with good pieces already in place like Moton and BC, and possibly Brown.
Saints defensive young guys aren't as good as ours either. Davenport is solid but the others? Nope.
Their O-Line is top 10. But that's going to change as soon as Armstead signs with another team.

They know how to win football games with Winston and Taysom Hill the RB that plays qb
They won 9 games with that. That's one game above .500. Not exactly the most wonderful stat to go off of.

Is getting IR'd two years in a row a mistake?
This is hilarious.
I will say one thing. Saints fans talking about their weapons makes me laugh. Kamara and Michael Thomas are just as injury prone as McCaffrey and at least our WR isn't injury prone. Neither he nor Anderson are injury prone. Crazy.

This joint was gonna have a nuclear meltdown if we didn't win the Watson sweepstakes but if we lose and he goes to the Saints?
Oh man.
I mean, if he does pick the Saints. You do realize most of us won't be happy, right? This team will be basement dwellers for years because the Saints will be the top of the Division regardless. While we're wasting draft pick after draft pick on QB's. Sigh.

I know ppl are down on the panthers but can we truly look at the Saints situation without Sean Payton and think they are that much better??
Makes no sense to me to think that. Those dudes had 7 wins and have nothing at QB and no weapons at WR. Plus are losing their LT.
We had people thinking Seattle was a better fit on here earlier today and yesterday. People love to think other organizations are better because of 1 SB they won over 5-10 years ago.

Can you post the conversation..
Towards the end of the conversation. Sounds like speculation as someone insinuated because the Saints have a "better" organization right now. Which is crap if Allen is their HC.

He’s still going on about the Saints. We ain’t getting him
Tell you what. If Watson does wave his clause for Carolina. We're getting him. We're going all in as Allbright just said.

One factor that I don't think is getting anywhere near enough talk in this calculus is that Watson has two previous torn ACLs. Everyone knows about the rapey off-field stuff, but those two prior ACL tears are a significant concern on the field in terms of durability.
He hasn't torn an ACL since 2017, to be fair.

Yeah, I wasn't a Bridgewater fan at all.

We're still going to have draft picks after the first rounders are traded. I mean, come on guys. We still will have to Draft well.

How are you missing the connection here? We are trading away our most valuable picks for 3 seasons. Watson will count 40 million against the cap. We'll have to wait a couple years for other cap hits to roll off. How exactly is that going to happen?
I meant after the first round picks are traded. Clearly. I thought that was implied?

Ian Rapoport reporting the Panthers & Saints have made offers for Watson. Maybe others as well. That includes the 3 first round draft picks as well as some young players.
Watson will meet with the teams and then decide if he wants to waive his NTC.
On Reddit Houston fans are already savoring the 3 Carolina draft choices (which will be high picks) and looking over the young talent we have on defense for who to take. It's absolutely sickening (and soul crushing) for Panther fans.
Not for me it's not.

My argument isn't that Lovie Smith is some great hire. My argument is that what's so much better about Carolina? It's pretty identical. Both teams are several seasons away from competing (if we are stripped of major assets as a result of a trade).
Lovie Smith is basically discount Ron Rivera if you look at the W/L and career history.
I don't know if Carolina is as far away as you think. Cam Newton got drafted then two years later Carolina went 12 and 5. Carolina won 2 games the year Cam got drafted. A QB can do a lot for a team. Granted, we have to draft well and sign solid free agents. With this staff that's easier said than done.

Just now, Smittymoose said:
Lovie Smith awful. Is that supposed to be a positive? lol
Houston was on thin ice with him, but he chose to sign a high AAV/low year extension to see how they’d handle the roster and staff. They responded by freezing him out of the coach hiring process because Easterby and Caserio are morons.
That man got fired at Illinois. Wild that he's now a HC in the NFL again after that disaster.

I am trying to A)understand why he wants to leave Houston and B)how is Carolina a better franchise for him then what he has now
There is literally nothing enticing to him that would make him want to come. Unless of course Tepper rips up his contract and allows him input going further. If that happens I probably will become a bills fan or something
Tepper will make him an offer that will make Watson think he's the best QB in league.

I didn’t switch anything. They have played twice since Cam was drafted. Not exactly hard to follow and pull for both. And why does it matter towards you stating Watson wasn’t getting suspended was a FACT. Then posting an article and omitting the exact opposite statements. As I said, deflection per usual.
Since I don't want to crowd this Forum with this useless back and forth that YOU started. I'm just going back to stating I wish I could be like you more. You're the end all be all guy. If we only had more posters that could switch allegiances to the Steelers.

bc their salary cap moves would castrate their roster. To create 41million in cap space (what they would need to do to land watson) would involve cutting a few key players (Davenport, Roby, and letting Armstead walk) and then they would have to trade onyemata and michalethomas/demario davis to make it worthwhile for the Texans. Along wtih multiple early round picks.
Yeah, they could make it work but it would be a lot.

Define deflection.
1. Attack the poster when they clearly point out you BS and blatantly leaving out the relevant FACTS in an article that was supposed to prove you were correct.
2. Certainly not denying the accusation of multiple alts because it’s obvious this isn’t your first go around on here.
3. I’ve been here 7 years. Was a Panther fan the day Cam was drafted. One name, and will own every statement I’ve ever made. Right or wrong. Me being a Steelers fan only comes up when people get upset when I point out the incompetence of the team and the way it’s run. And people like you whose words cause them to look foolish on a consistent basis. I’ve been told many times that I would be gone when the Panthers got good again. Still waiting.
4. I was on my 2nd cup when I laughed at your BS.
So wait. You switched allegiance from the Panthers to the Steelers? Did Jeremy start trying to punk posters? This can't be real.

That’s why it makes sense for them to trade away a ton of draft capital to acquire one. We on the other hand need a lot more… Watson maybe gets us in the playoffs and that’s because the NFC is getting weaker. Then we have limited ways to get better as his contract would be huge next year and we would have no picks.
Not necessarily. Saints roster is in influx at the moment. We'll see though. Def a wrinkle no one thought was coming.

I can't tell if you are being facetious here... The Saints roster is in shambles right now. They can't even afford to keep their best olineman. They would have to ship away one to two of the few key defensive players to the Texans.
Their roster is in a tough spot right nowAnd Payton retired.
No more Watson threads. Use this one or one of the other 20 existing ones.

I don't get that thought mentality some fans have.
You would rather the Saints have a top 5 QB while the Panthers search for a QB? SERIOUSLY? Our defense couldn't shut down Kirk Cousins, is about to lose our top 2 Corners and you are okay with the Saints getting Watson? What world is this?
