Russell Wilson gets Seattle 2 first, 2 seconds, a fifth round and 3 players and he's on the down side of his career.

    Wentz gets Indy 2 thirds?

Dunno who's providing the drugs, but no way Wilson is worth half of that and no way Wentz is 2 third rounders. Indy could have asked for a little more and would have gotten it. Maybe a couple seconds.

And they swapped 2nd rounders. Odd trade.

Not likely to see the bigs this season and that's a good thing. They want to give him some time to get used to the game on North America. Also, the Canes are a legit Cup contender and need to win every game we can to make the playoff route the "easiest" possible.

Eh. If we get an injury I would rather go with the 22 year old than Lyon's sorry ass.

What I saw and heard last night:

Anderson, was reported, isn't injured. He skated earlier in the day and let RBA know he couldn't go. He may be just a little sore after a couple pretty hard collisions in net against Pittsburgh.

Stepan may be in RBA's doghouse over a penalty he took? Last time he played was Washington, I think, and his penalty didn't have any effect on the outcome of the game, so I'm not sure about this one. After all, the Canes took 6 penalties that night.

Nino is playing with a real chip on his shoulder lately. During TV timeouts last night he was having discussions with the refs on the ice. I think he gets whacked quite a bit and doesn't seem to get any calls his way. Regardless, I think he's more dangerous when he plays pissed, just like Staal.

The Kotkaniemi line took the opening face-offs last night for each period last night. That's about all we saw of that line as nothing much materialized.

The "Breaking Ice" piece on Ethan Bear shown during the second intermission on the big screen was great. If you watch this and don't come away thinking this guy is one of your favorite Canes, you need counseling. Seriously, it was that good. Good enough I'm considering an Ethan Bear jersey. Watch here if you like:

When will our Russian goalie get some PT? End of the season?

Yup, watching a baseball game is like watching paint dry to me.  That's one sport I have never understood watching.  Crazy thing is they are in a lockout and they lost a ton of fans years ago when they pulled that stunt.  Now MLS is growing in popularity and the NHL keeps expanded teams and fans, baseball is going to find itself competing with Cornhole tournaments on ESPN Ocho before too long.

And MLS as a soccer product is garbage. I despise it. Only thing I like it for is USMNT products. Usually they get 10X better when they go overseas. See Brandon Aaronson for reference.

Tried watching the first game. Just couldn’t do it. Never understand why that sport is so popular.
So boring. Give me Hockey any day.

As a sport, it's moved past baseball in popularity and has well passed hockey in this country. Just an FYI.

Solid win against a hockey team that’s better than they usually play. Excellent effort by Raanta. He was moving the quickest and sharpest I’ve seen from him this season. Now we got some big dogs coming to town if I’m not mistaken. We best be ready.

If Freddie has a long term injury for some terrible reason. Would rather us have brought up the young buck over Lyon. Lyon sucks.

They're starting to wake up. This video pretty much echoes what I've been saying.

If we could sit him for a year, I would be all for it. But we know Rhule won't be doing that.

Cam signs a one year deal to mentor Malik Willis who sits early and starts to spell Cam as the season goes on.

The offensive line gets improved through starting Brown and Brady plus a key free agent.

    Excited?

I would be excited if we sat Willis for a year. He needs that much seasoning.

Yeah I’m not much of a fan of starting rookie QBs anyway. Many of the greats struggled as rookies. I guess if the coaching is right, it can help expedite their development but few are ready to play at the NFL level right away.

Same way I think. I think a lot of QB's are hindered by starting early. Baker Mayfield for instance would've benefitted greatly from sitting a year. It helped him at Oklahoma. As he was meh at Texas Tech. I don't mind Willis has his upside is a lot. However, he would have to start here and that would suck.

I like the dude, don't like the dude's Game.

Talked about it in the other thread, he has some amazing highlights but he leaves a lot of meat on the bone throughout each game. Great at backyard football, not as great at structured football and played significantly worse against better competition.

His game reminds me of Johnny Manziel but not a shithead and apparently a very hard worker.

Wherever he goes, he should sit for at least a year.

Hate to say it. But every QB in this Draft should sit a year, if they have the opportunity. Not one is ready day 1 to be a starter. Hell. Looks like only 1 was ready to be a starter last year. And you could argue Mac Jones was just a product of the Patriots system as his stats weren't good by any means. Just meh.

The bench seems more engaged tonight. This team has all of the pieces to be very good other than a quality starting big man but they have to want it and be engaged like they are tonight.

    The sign of poo coaching.
