Never said Stroud couldn't. I just stated that Young did it better.

Apart from scrambling... how do we equate how either does checks/protections better than the other? lol That's more of a checkbox type of deal CAN they? Yes? Sweet we can work with that.

I think the size concerns are overblown. Stroud is the better pure passer with a stronger arm, but Young does everything else the position requires(calling out protections, reads, scrambling, etc) today better. I prefer Young because he plays the game a little better and never seemed to get rattled by pressure.

On the other hand, the myth that Stroud doesn't call out protections and pre-snap reads is way over blown.  Bryce displayed better scrambling ability, but both can scramble.

  3. I don’t hate Levis but after my 1st (Stroud by a 1/2 mile) and 2nd (Bryce) options it’s hard for me to find hype for him as an option. He’s not terrible, but he’s not as far along as a guy who’s played as much ball as him should be. If we were sitting at 9 with Levis/AR staring at us I’d take AR and gamble on his upside. I don’t think Levis gets much better than he is right now, mechanics included. Sam Darnold is still trying to get his lower body in sync with his upper body and he’s been in the league 5 years.

The Belichick coaching tree is a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

Yes, so much of this. Mind you, I believe it to go both ways. Not saying we should sign him so NO doesn’t or anything crazy like that BUT NO landing him somehow will diminish any breathing room for growing pains with the new regime. Have to get our next move at QB 1000% correct.

  5. Carr isn’t terrible, SIGNED as a FA leaves our flexibility. Wouldn’t love it but also not pounding the table for it to happen. He performed better with less which leads me to believe, as I believed before, that ole Josh McD isn’t the offensive guru he’s cracked up to be 🤷🏾‍♂️

It's early but Anthony Richardson is already my season riser. CJ had a rough outing without his WR1.

I was at the game, OL gave him little time to operate, a lot of improv and actually did really well once they got the play calling rhythm back. Clear that they game planned a lot of stuff for JSN and then had to reroute with the younger guys.

  7. This was a private conversation that Colin didn’t have to indulge in. AFTER he was cut from the team. Yeah imma believe what Colin is saying. Especially because he could have based the whole organization.

people don’t like anything positive abt Rhule tho, so people are gonna say he’s gonna stuck up for the guy that gave him a job and so on and so forth. Just really anything so they can justify their negative, generally miserable existences.

Well, as I said in the other thread, for whatever reason, it has seemed like Rhule has always had an issue with him.  I'm not saying either is lying, but someone is...  and society tends to side with authority figures when it comes to such issues.  But I've seen enough between Rhule and Robinson to believe the truth is somewhere in between, because Rhule has never seemed to have an affinity for KRob.  I also believe it's entirely possible KRob hit him and stood over him...  so it's hard to really believe either of them.

Weird to me slightly because he has the mythical final say over the roster. Why even roster the guy if you don’t like him. There were and are plenty of other depth options at FS. 🤷🏾‍♂️

it's crazy to think our roster has two 1 round QBs... but one plays like a 3rd rounder and the other plays like an UDFA.

Yet, we have a 3rounder QB who looks like the future and a UDFA QB who's never lost an NFL game...smh...

black helmets might be the only highlight for this team this year...

MC has shown GLIMPSES of being a capable NFL QB…. Mere glimpses…. I don’t wanna hear the lack of reps stuff. I really don’t care at this point. Daily someone is proclaiming him to be some savior and he hasn’t even played a live down yet. We know the kids throwing motion, have seen him in pressers, and some highlights. Please atleast let my man get through the preseason before we start naming our kids after him.

I want him to work out, I genuinely like him. But can we see him in some kind of live action. No amount of posts and pies is gonna make him what we want him to be. He has to go out there and take it.

Hoping for them to at least look more alive when they play Washington.

Yeah the whole thing seemed fake, interviews with the players then they run on the field and then get reps all of it was too show like for me.

I mean it could just be a lax atmosphere but damn if almost everybody didn't look unmotivated as hell out there.

    (CJ Henderson being an exception)

I've seen previous Fan Fest practices look way more crisp than that.

It really seemed like a walkthrough honestly like a pep rally. Just go out and run some plays in front of the fans. I can take it for what it is 🤷🏾‍♂️ But they definitely didn’t “get after it”

Re: Baker and Matt - My take is, I'm excited about Baker this year.  I'm excited about Matt ingeneral, especially for the future as he has time to develop while Baker runs things this season, at least.  I dont know what happens after this year.  I have a feeling that Matt can be, and may be really, really special.  He has some abilities and tools, and characteristics, that just can't be taught.  The release, great arm strength/zip, moxie, leadership, and athleticism.  Those things, as-is, might be the best in our QB room right now.  He has already flashed in limited opportunities more than any other rookie QB we've had outside of Cam, and maybe Kerry Collins, but I'm not 100% sure about Collins because I was a kid with limited access to reports and such due to the internet not really being a thing then.😂  My impression from back then was that Collins was not all that impressive, and honestly, I even felt that way when he played.  Regardless, before I derail myself, my point being, he has shown promise that 99.9% of the time had already been extinguished at this point of the offseason with any other rookie QBs we've had, not named Cam.  There's an electricity to him, and you can feel it just watching him and watching the clips from practice.  There's something special about him...  and I say all of that to say, that why I don't know where things go next season.  I think Baker is capable of being a Top 15, possibly top 10 QB in the league.  For stretches, he has actually put up top 10 numbers, and I think it's possible for him to sustain that, and thus, I think he could lead us to the playoffs in any given year.  He's a really good QB.  But, that "it" factor, and the natural talent that Corral possesses...  I just don't know how long you can hold that off.  It really is so very similar to what happened with Smith and Mahomes.  I think Baker is a slightly better version of Smith because of the potential for deep passes and big plays...  but they're both winners and leaders.  And just like Mahomes, Corral possesses certain things that just can't be taught, and if he develops the mental part of the game, you can't stop them from "ascending" to the top, as McAdoo said he is currently doing.  And as i said yesterday, if agendas are thrown aside, and had Baker not been acquired, I'm fairly certain Corral would be the starter as a rookie.  It is a good problem to have, and it's going to be interesting to watch unfold.

I think given all his tools and gifts, he's just too raw this year to really believe he could start.  I think it would do more harm than good, but putting Sam back out there another year was borderline insanity.  Giving him the year to build his body and mind will do him good, next offseason let him get after it.

Just look at how KC handled Mahomes, who was a much higher draft pick and is obviously a very good QB. That model worked pretty well.  I think that as long as the team avoids major injuries, Baker will lead the team to a few more wins.  Then, if needed can give him a tag year and let Coral be the #2. Unless of course, the staff thinks Coral is ready.

Tags are expensive, and keep going up thanks in no part to certain FOs resetting the market.  It may be better and more team friendly to get him on a 2/3 year deal with a low cap hit.  Franchise tag for qb is 29.70 M THIS season, with Lamar looking for a deal yet, Murrays new deal and Watson to name a few its going to go up a bit.

From yesterday, but I'll go ahead and throw it in here.

Panther GM Scott Fitterer is asked whether Matt Rhule is under any kind of mandate. He ducks the question.

He's just being smart, it's the same answer he would have given in a presser. You don't out your coach to the public.

Why would we waste snaps from a preseason game on a QB we know pretty much for sure will not make the team. PJ is a good dude and he has the talent to be a backup somewhere else but just not with us right now.

Also, if there is a good time to give Corral snaps, it's preseason. He won't drown, he'll welcome the challenge.

In no universe is MC playing an entire preseason game. No one is playing an entire preseason game at one position.  PJ is getting in at some point lol
