This is what I get for tuning in today. More shitty play at the QB position.

Not denying that Darnold has some talent, but he is easy to rattle once the pressure starts getting to him. You can have every skill player around him be an all-pro, but if he starts to panic, things will go south quickly. Wish him the best, though. Seems like a good guy.

I can say that I am at least interested in the team again. For the first time since 1995, I went without watching the Panthers every Sunday last season because I was so pissed at how Tepper ran this team into the ground. He should have gotten rid of Rhule at the end of the previous season but instead left us stuck with crappy football to start off. Firing the idiot was a start, and the moves the team has made this offseason at least give me hope that it is headed in the right direction. Even if we aren't world beaters this year, I will watch again simply because effort has been made to improve the team by hiring real coaches and letting Fitt do his job without interference from the clueless moron and his "brand".

Can we just say it’s a rough time in Panther fan hood? I’ll be here with my nose plugged for the next couple of years, but I’ll be here

Not expecting a win, or even a close game. Just so happy to see the college losers gone that I'll take whatever beatdown we get.

I might actually tune in to next week's game now that I don't have to look at his face on the sidelines anymore. Dude just looked clueless every game.

Been a fan since I moved down here in 1995. Went to Clemson a few times and made a point to go to at least one home game every year until the pandemic, including 2001 and 2010. Never at any point did I feel the apathy and lack of interest that I feel at this point. I will keep an eye on the final scores, but as long as Rhule and Fitterer are running this team, I will not spend another dime to support it. Like OP said, not even a t-shirt. It won't make a bit of difference to Tepper, but at least I can stop feeling like a sucker for falling for the annual bs that we will be an improved team.

If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass a-hoppin'. If Rhule could coach a team to play 60 minutes week in and week out, he might have some room to talk about those stats from the second half. However, we've seen some terrible football under him over the last two years and no one wants to hear things like "2nd half 7.7 yards per play, blah, blah, blah". It gets old because it's the same BS every week and nothing improves. Put together SEVERAL games where for 60 minutes the team looks like it did those last 35 minutes and perhaps he would receive less ire from much of the fanbase.

He has to be the head coach with the lowest IQ in the league. Can’t think of anything intelligent that he’s ever said in a presser and seems to be getting worse.

Finding decent vet LT’s in FA is pretty rare and very expensive. Same goes for a QB like Watson. That reason alone makes me prefer drafting Ickey and Corral. If you are cap strapped and don’t have high draft picks, you have a very small chance at a complete team. Complete teams can compete for a SB. Besides, no one knows if Watson will even play this year.
-
He would have to take the team deep into the playoffs. However, I don’t believe he is capable of that regardless of staff or roster. He just isn’t an NFL caliber coach.
-
Sometimes people (and teams) need to be saved from themselves. Never wanted to send so much draft capital and players for one guy, no matter how talented. We just aren’t close to being a SB team to do it.

Rhule won’t pick a QB that he doesn’t feel can start right away. I worry that he sees Pickett as that guy. Wouldn’t be upset if we traded back and picked up Willis late in the 1st, but we really need to address the OL. Dreading the draft with Rhule calling the shots, tbh. Dude can’t evaluate talent.

Rhule is the worst thing to happen to this franchise and I’ve been here for Collins quitting, 2001, 2010/Pickles, and the disaster that has been this franchise since we last made the playoffs in 2017.

TB5 was 18th, fwiw. As much as I didn't like him when he was here, we should have kept him. And our picks. And drafted a QB.
He's exactly the right guy to hold the ship steady while you coach up a prospect and build the team. We probably would have won 7 games this year with TB5. We've have a prospect learning, we'd have a bunch of picks still in hand for this draft and a much better cap situation.
I was one of the ones who wanted TB gone. Can't take it back. However, someone down there on Mint Street should have seen the situation for what it really was and made a better call.
TB5 was gone because he criticized the coaching staff. At the time I was pissed too and wanted him gone, but turns out he was telling it like it is and Rhule couldn’t handle it.

So much for the guy now being blackballed for suing the NFL

If we draft a rookie it'll be that fraud Pickett. Take that to the bank.
Sadly, with Rhule in charge this will be the case.

It's funny seeing people prop up Zac Taylor on here as this paragon of coaching who we all wish Rhule could be, when Taylor was Rhule until he got his franchise quarterback. Taylor took a 6-10 Bengals team to 2-14 his first season (last in AFC North), drafted Joe Burrow, took them to 4-11-1 his second season (last in AFC North), then a 10-7 Super Bowl season in his third season on the back of his franchise quarterback who came into his own this year.
The irony is that Zac Taylor is the best and possibly only argument one could make for sticking with Rhule. "Hey look at Zac Taylor, he was abysmal his first two seasons in the NFL and he managed to make it to a Super Bowl in his third year...maybe there's hope for Rhule!". I mean I wouldn't personally make that argument because I want Rhule gone, but this is exactly the type of argument Rhule would try to pitch to Tepper.
My question is this-do we believe that Rhule could get this team to the playoffs, let alone a Super Bowl, even with a franchise QB? He just seems so much dumber than Taylor, but maybe I just haven't followed the Bengals that closely.

Any scenario in which Matt Rhule is no longer involved with the team in any capacity would definitely give me something to be excited about. Hope for the future…

Only jersey I own has his name on it. The man came on this team its first year of existence and helped establish the team's identity. We had a nasty defense those first few years and he was an integral part of it. Sam Mills will forever personify what it means to be a Carolina Panther. #keeppounding

I remember the start of the ‘03 season when Fox started Peete and I was sure he would keep him in for the entire game. About fell over when Jake came out and beat the Jags with that pass to Proehl despite the INTs. As fans we knew there was something there that season. Should have been a W in the SB. Now it’s known as the Wardrobe Malfunction SB. Sigh.

Of course, that only works if he succeeds (which he isn't).
But we know it's working 100,000% because he said so. What else do we need? Certainly tangible proof isn't necessary to dumb fans.

Been a fan since 1995. Watched the games in 2001 and 2010 and haven’t felt as hopeless as I do about the team as I do today. Tepper has turned this team into a punchline and I will not spend one more dime including tuning in to the games until he is gone. Today’s tantrum further illustrates the point. F-ing clown show. 2015 feels like 100 years ago.
