  1. Football seems to be the only sport where praise is given for bending the rules as much as possible without breaking them. Why make such a big deal about "Parity in the NFL" if exploitation of the rules is so justifiable. Meanwhile in baseball Pete Rose is still not in the HoF even though most agree that they think he never shaved points, the NBA will put its foot on your balls and stomp if they so much as hear you say certain words, and few still care about hockey.

Its not that impressive to win games when youre exploiting because not everyone is doing it. Many teams are trying to play straight up and one can call that foolish all he wants but you cant in turn call exploiting the rules genius and give credit. If not everyone is competing on those boundaries of the rules then what youre doing isnt genius. The other teams know what types of things the Pats and teams like them are doing. Dont you think any organization is cautious with the Pats after Spygate? They see it and then choose not too emulate it. They could bend the rules like the Pats, but choose not to. Thats not genius, thats a matter of morals.

Indy may have been in for an asskicking either way, but crazy stories like these show how Belichick is always doing anything he can for the W. Belichick may be a good football coach but he's not great. He might be considered great at the combination of football coaching and exploiting rules, but thats not what people are saying about him. The fact that he gets caught for things like this all the time show that his attitude is to "win at all costs". Thats great in war when death is on the line, but when Im trying to watch a sporting event Id like both teams to be on the same page. Everyone use the same rules and just play football, simple. smile.gif

Justifying any of what he does by saying other teams have done this or that is besides the point. People were bending the rules in football long before the Pats got popped for Spygate. I, for one, dont want to watch football where someone is constantly exploiting the rules better than the other guys.

Cant we just have football to watch?

  2. i consider myself a hardcore Christian, but i wouldnt waste money to see The Golden Calf of Bristol take a poo on the football field and call it QB play. i admire the guy for his resolve on moral issues, but he is a terrible QB and he isnt without his problems. i kinda have a problem with his ego. he wont humble himself and play a different position to meet a team's need. he is stuck on playing a position that he is no good at. we all have problems, i just think The Golden Calf of Bristol's ego is his. its sad too because he could make a legitimate NFL comeback if he would play TE or RB. but he just wont come down off his high horse and admit that he is a terrible QB.

there has to be some sort of rule like that because i can still get seats on resale websites for the Steelers game in a few weeks, but Panthers.com says that its sold out.

The running on the sidelines thing was just bizarre. Maybe being home schooled warped how he thought he was being perceived.

  3. I posted in another thread that Ginn was actually middle of the pack on returns if you went by average.

As long as the person fielding punts can do so without muffing it completely, we should be ok.

that is a stat that is based on BOTH the whole kickoff unit AND the defensive unit. You cant pluck Ginn out of that and define him with it.

  4. Yeah, I'm sitting here wondering what some of them are talking about. Ginn didn't set the world on fire, but he was great at at least catching the mother fugers instead of letting them hit the ground, and he had nice returns when he had the opportunity.

    Consistent. He was very consistent

As bad as our STs have been the past however long it was like HOF caliber last season.

thats exactly how I felt. I didnt have a worry in the world on kick offs

  5. Lol @ underrating Ginn on ST's. We've never had a field general on ST's like that, never. Just because he didnt crack off 8 TD's doesnt mean he wasnt good. He made so many saves I lost count. Not too mention he was ice cold fielding the ball and getting in position.

That is flat out got to be one of the most dangerous positions in sports. To play it with balls out is to say "I am a greater man than you". I felt like we had that with Ginn. 3mil. . just 3mil man, ridonkulous

  6. .... or does it

Well, always to some degree, but its not malicious towards anything I care about so its ok.

So have you ever heard of something called morphvox pro? Its cheap software that gives you the ability to make a soundboard out of hotkeys. Say during the show someone says "chopper" and you want to play the "get to da choppa!!" Ahnold sound clip, you hit Ctrl H and it plays through the podcast. It also does some other voice things that are useful like raising or lowering sound levels in certain areas.

Its relatively cheap, maybe 40 bones, if you're interested taking the production that way.

  7. Wow this is all alleged, can we at least pretend like it is until we find out what happened. Hardy is an aggressive guy who likely surrounds himself with people that are like him or endearing to him in some way. Not to mention he is also a celebrity, none of us here can say what that is like. There's a lot of crazy people in this world. Im usually just grateful getting from A to B when I drive around this town with all the crazy psychos on the road.

. . and btw he's 25 not 45. Have any of you ever chosen bad friends to be around. . . uhm yeah . . all of you.

  8. They just scored 55 points in their game before us and had a bye week to scheme for us and we still held them to 20 on MNF. I'd say that's pretty good.

the Pats BARELY made it out of the first half with 3 points. . . LOL 3!

They didnt start moving the ball until Belicheat called for the "sweep the leg"  on CJ.

  9. Let's go play some cards then.  I have plenty of places we can go and play "real" poker, since you know so much.  Although referring to online poker as "real" was very comical.  You just have to promise not to cry when they take your lunch money.

PSST....I own the poker league and I piss more confidence daily than you'll ever have.

    But really....let's go play.  .

Edit:  Then we can go eat some wings after.  Your choice on the location. (just to stay semi-thread relevant).

This was almost as funny as when Chuck challenged me to fisticuffs. Hahaha close, in the same ballpark, but I think he may have you beat.
