I think they just pied him because he came back. lol!
But yeah, all Saints fans and all analysts were saying those things were not going to stop them. How do you pick the Saints to win the game and then start throwing out excuses when they get taken to the woodshed? If they lost by 3, maybe I see the excuses. But not 26-7, with a gift from Darnold in the 4th. If he just takes that sack, they don't score period. They were wrong, why can't they just admit it? I admit I was wrong. Winston didn't throw 3 TDs and get benched. We didn't win a close game. I was wrong. I wasn't one of the guys saying we would completely dominate them. So I'm not gonna make excuses. WE ALL KNEW about what the Saints had to deal with before the game was played, tune was very different then though.
I respect your total hatred of the Saints. You have remained consistent as long as I have known you here. I expect no less. Keep it up, my friend.

I do say good sir, and with all due respect, that by the time we play again this year our offense will be in full swing. Darnold will be airing it out to big play making receivers while you can expect at least one mid field 6 point Sally from McCaffery. There's no jumbo gumbo bowl big enough to calm your hunger nor no dollop of Saint's bourbon infused special sauce strong enough to quench your thirst this year. Hence forth I'm afraid everyday will make Drew Brees feel like a distant memory, like a warm nap under shade in the Louisiana evening. Try as you might to numb this ever growing pain the way your general Sean Payton may with over the counter prescriptions, your glory days for now will be soon put to rest. When a man hungers for crab legs more than the theoretical Ws he creates and eats with the palm and fingers of his own hands, you'll soon see you have a problem that not even Taysom Hill can dig you out of. I can only hope for your sake that your soul can find a way to let you down easy as the New Orleans Saints sails slowly sink into a forgettable nothingness forever more. Rest your soul.
I stopped reading after the second cliché delivered in the rambling diatribe.

I haven't, while not something to ignore I don't believe it played quite the role that you appear to.
As you shouldn't as a loyal fan. I respect that.

I'm referring to the fact that a nagging ankle injury that isn't 100% by now isn't good and it's easy to reaggrivate.
I guess you missed he had surgery to correct it and that's why he isn't back.

Nope. I never expect a loss. I've been a fan of my Saints since I was nine years old back in 1967. I can easily take a loss if it occurs. Over the past decade and a half, however, they have been far more rare.

Nagging lower leg/foot injury's are hard to predict.
Sorry, don't get this?

Yeah football IQ probably a better way to say it. There's a reason he throws so many INTs.
Yup. Lack of protection. Trying to do too much.

Micheal Thomas played in seven games last season had a whopping 438 yards recieveing and no TDs it remains to be seen if he will ever regain pre injury form.
This is true. We'll see.

Respect for coming back.
I have no problem with optimism. Eventually though you'll realize it wasn't the lack of a lasik procedure holding Winston back. He just isn't smart enough.
Good luck until we meet again.
The kid is actually quite intelligent. Goofy as hell, but very smart.

While true to a degree, not every defense in the league has the personnel to do what we did/do. I seriously doubt that every team is going to replicate our performance against the Saints on a weekly basis.
Also take into consideration we were missing Michael Thomas and Tre'quan Smith, our top two WR's, starting center, and six of our offensive coaches for the week.

You guys don’t have much hope as long as you keep trotting Winston out under center.
Don't forget that your QB has a worse interception/TD ratio than Winston for his career. Just sayin'.

Props. I legitimately hope you guys manage to be full strength next go round this wasn't much of a contest although I will say I was right about Jameis.
Short of Brees, I don't know what QB could have handled all of those issues.

Apparently your center is VERY important to your OL.
Our right guard is more important, but he was playing center. But, yes, that did create an issue. Thankfully we haven't lost any of the eight players for the season and should (fingers crossed) be back to full roster when we face TB in the Dome on Halloween day.

Sorry, just found this thread. It was buried. I was definitely coming back. Just had my first real chance since the game to spend time at the PC.

I just want to check in and congratulate y'all for the win yesterday. I've been a little preoccupied with one niece getting married and her sister deciding to give birth on the same day. Spent Sunday after the game and today just trying to get my head back above water. Y'all played extremely inspired and the Saints had far too many obstacles to overcome to hang in. I am the eternal optimist, but eight starters out, eight coaches in COVID protocol, limited practice, and weeks away from their homes had to have been a factor. I was hoping that they could overcome all that, but there were, coupled with your team's excellent performance, more than enough straws to break that camel's back.
I can't wait to see y'all in week 17 in the Dome. I'll be right there in section 229. If you are planning on making the trip give me a shout and I'll buy you a beer. Um, make that the first five of you. I ain't buying for all of your sorry asses.

Obviously deemed not needed. Waiting for the Patriots next week.

Well, been terribly busy so haven't been in the last couple of days. It looks like y'all couldn't be in a better situation to win.
But, not going to happen. Gotta get back to making chili and cheese dip. I'll check back in later and after the game.
Congrats on the win!
