Wait his scientific creativity in fiction? LOL. Wow
As far as I know that was Sagan's only fiction work.

No…gotta totally disagree here. He did know it was earth until he saw the statue of liberty. Pretty clear in this movie
He was displaying the futility there. Yes, is wasn't finally realized until the statue, but he was displaying it there.

I like Sagan…something about him really connected with me as a kid.
Good start. I assume you read Contact by Sagan. He was brilliant in his knowledge, but as a scientist his creativity in fiction was limited. I did like the novel very much and respected him.

It is entirely possible that he laughed because the flag was so small. This entire movie can be debated over and over hence its greatness.
No doubt it was a reference to the Apollo missions
It was because he realized he was back on his original Earth in his future and he recognized the total futility of everything in which he had previously believed. He laughed because he finally realized everything he had believed in was lost. A strong statement. It was an expression of loss.

Not familiar with him. Peace man till Sunday
Check out Stranger in a Strange Land.
A definitive start on his entering his works. In my opinion the greatest SciFi author that ever lived.
Sunday!

It was absurd to claim (with an American flag) what Taylor thought was a new planet they had crashed landed on. Welcome for the lesson
Fuggin amazing movie and I have the entire series of movies on Blu
And you do not understand that moment? Geeez. Watch it over and over until it sinks in. If it doesn't ... I still love ya' man for trying.

Still don't get it. There is a very real reason why Taylor laughed. Research, my friend.

This scene was an obvious reference to the moon landing. The laugh was because of how absurd that was…kinda like Saints fans thinking life as normal without Brees
Oh, my God! The moon landing.
WOW!
Sorry, my friend. You have just lost every bit of credibility with all of your forum mates. Of course, given you had any credibility to begin.
Moon landing! LOLOLOL!

Enlighten me. I have seen that movie many times. You are being laughable and smug thinking NO is a contender. It’s amusing
No. I'm not explaining the concept of the short scene. I want your interpretation and compare it to the actual meaning. Tag, buddy, you're it.

Yeah, your expectations for your beloved Saints are about to crash land.
Saints have CMCs number. K. Underestimating the Panthers defense. K. Thinking Winston is going to continue this. K
I was right. You have no idea of the context of that clip. Try watching the movie and paying attention.

You aren't so bad for a Saints fan, I don't mind eating crow when I'm wrong but hey it's early in the year tis' the time for unbridled optimism. Reguarless of outcome here's to no seruous injury's.

If things go south bad enough the team will get a high pick and should be able to address the Oline or QB this draft. That's all I got.
Ouch! As much as I pull against the Panthers I will never condone that approach. Do everything you can do to win every game and to hell with the draft.

The guy had three catches for 30ish Yds TDs can be hit or miss, and on one of those he was wide open and had to make a circus catch because of Winston's poor ball placement.
We will see. I wish we could be sitting there watching the game together drinking our beverage of choice (I'm buying).

If they be victorious in the end they will have earned it with their blood.
They will know that this battle is just a foreshadowing of the war that is coming. A war that will rest the balance of power in the NFCS.

I honestly think that the 2 teams mirror each other very well. Qbs with a bad past trying to resurrect their career, both have good receiving results, both have good defensive lines and good defensive backs.
The only differences are that they have a better oline, but we are in a better salary cap situation and are trending upwards as a rebuilding team while they a trending downwards after losing Brees and nearing a need to rebuild.
This will be a good technical game. All about the Xs and Os. We will see if Rhule has what it takes in the coaching battle against peyton.
It's not only in the in game coaching battle. It is in preparation. I believe Payton may have a little league up on that sort of prep on the NFL level. Maybe, perhaps, kinda.

It's interesting this is something that came up here in preseason over and over as a point of emphasis for Darnold, too. Both Darnold and Winston have a history of poor decision making. Both coaching staffs are trying to put these guys in better situations with less risk of those poor decisions I think.
Where do you think your OC learned that?

It will happen his ability to intercept. That is mostly what I am worried about. We can beat you if we protect the football.
Interceptions are not Lattimore's forte. He has ten career picks but his ability to shadow his man is what makes him so great. A thumb will not interfere with that.

Hard to argue Peyton's coaching prowess at this point, although I did wonder for a bit if Hill was blackmailing him or some crap based on the fascination with him as QB. I think the Saints also have a better overall roster, but I may be wrong. At least, more experienced. I still think the game should be competitive and fun to watch.
It is honestly the deepest (Saints) roster I have ever seen top to bottom. The cuts were tough. There's vets and lot's of very talented youth.

If that happens I'll send you a Heinlein novel. Hell, if you manage to even win I'll send you one.
