  1. I hear everyone, but in the back of my mind I am thinking Cade Mays is a young guy who is getting more experience.  I'm wondering, just how good will he be as time progress?  Will he be a little better, or will he take off?  Is it possible he might regress?

The best strategy I agree would be to draft a guy in the later rounds for insurance.  However if the price was right for Ryan Kelly, it would be hard to turn down the opportunity for a 100% solid line across the board for both Young and Hubbard.  I'm greedy for the possibilities.  Though if it meant preventing us from signing solid defensive talent in free agency, or maybe a Tee Higgins on offense, I wouldn't go for Kelly.

  2. I say this because a potential probowl center could be on the market to make our O-line a fab five.  I'm speaking of Ryan Kelly of the Colts.  He is a four time probowler at the position, and has lead the way for Jonathan Taylor's success in Indianapolis.  The down sides of acquiring him is he's coming off an injury season (but he did finish the year strong), he's a veteran who is currently 31 (not too bad for a trench guy), and could want good money from the center position. (Particularly if coming to Carolina who aren't seen as a contending team as of yet).

All that said, I like how Cade Mays played at the position, but the question is will he continue to progress into a top center?  I'm looking at the dynamics on our line and this is the first time I've seen probowl qualities at every position left to right.  The only question mark perhaps is the center position.  What say y'all?

    Rushing yards:
    1) DeAngelo Williams - 1,515 (2008)
    2) Stephen Davis - 1,444 (2003)
    3) Chuba Hubbard - 1,195 (2024)
    4) Jonathan Stewart - 1,133 (2009)
    5) Anthony Johnson - 1,120 (1996)

    Rushing touchdowns:
    1) DeAngelo Williams - 18 (2008)
    2) Christian McCaffrey - 15 (2019)
    3) Cam Newton - 14 (2011)
    4) Stephen Davis - 12 (2003)
    5T) Chuba Hubbard - 10 (2024 - tied with 2008/2009 Jonathan Stewart, 2015 Cam Newton)

With two games left, Chuba has an outside chance of breaking the all-time single-season record if he averages 160 yards a game. If he averages 125 per game, he would break Davis's 2003 total.

He has one game to tie or break them.  If he does it in two games, you have to put an asterisk beside his stats.

A lot of guys Dalton's age in this league are relegated to training younger QBs, or holding the spot for the younger guy to officially take over like what's going on in New England.  However when Dalton found out he was now QB 1, he was fired up!!!  He was looking for a chance to be "the guy".  His whole thing was looking for an opportunity to lead a team to a championship, at his age.  This is what we got.  This isn't a Vinny Testaverde, or a Gus Frerotte, this is a guy who believes he can right the ship for a run.

I'm not saying we will do that, but this is the mindset of Andy Dalton.  Its fire, and I believe this team will play with all their heart this game.  We are going to see some inspired ball today.

It’s possible. He went from bad to terrible. Been there plenty of times so i can empathize.

but the fan in me is saying that he’s getting paid millions and many people said he’s mentally tough because his dad is a therapist, so he should’ve been able to compartmentalize and still ball.

Perhaps if this was his first love, he may not have been able to handle it.  And I don't want to say anything bad about her, but to the outside appearance she might be the type who is after the money.  If this is true, and if this is Bryce's first relationship experience, it could have impacted him doubly hard.

  6. According to social media, Bryce had a break up with his girlfriend....

Here's a clip of him walking with his girlfriend last year at training camp....

I didn't even know he had a girlfriend, of course none of that is our business. (haha)  However, I know love can make people do crazy things.  A relationship that is rocky can have negative affects if you don't know how to separate them from personal work.  Bryce is young (pun intended), and perhaps having what looks to be someone dating him because of his status, could have impacted him mentally.  Of course I'm not one to get into this type of stuff, but this could be a possible reason he's been so terrible lately.  His play wasn't just bad, he looked like a random person playing QB out there on the field.  To my eyes, he was completely out of it.  Canales must have sense this too after watching tape from Bryce's last game, and was forced to pull the plug after two games.  So here's to Bryce sitting and getting his mind back on track.  Perhaps he also learned something on dating being a millionaire athlete.

That would be such a Tepper thing to do and destructive. You don't want players that do not want to be here. If it cannot be worked out you have to select someone else. I think more then Manning are not going to want to come here and that is a big problem. If a player does not want to come here he can just re-enter the draft the following year.

And we will be waiting for him the following year. (Haha!)

  8. So let's put some numbers to this.

    Jamarcus Russell's career record as a starter = 9-22

    Ryan Leaf's career record as a starter = 4-21

    Bryce's current record as a starter = 2-17

I don't see Bryce winning another game the way he's playing, and it is not even a guess about it.  The only way we win a game with Bryce starting, is if we run the wildcat formation and win running the ball.  So with that said, the records bare it out.  Bryce Young is officially the biggest bust in NFL history.
