  1. For those wondering why is it taking so long for DJ Chark to sign, here is my thinking.  The hold up might be he's looking for significant money.  If he were to come here, this will be his third team and third contract.  He is not getting any younger.  So along with money, he's probably looking for a relatively long term deal, possibly four years.  Most of us are looking at Chark and want him to sign something more like a "prove it" deal.  Something that is short term.  Ultimately, if he has to do another prove it deal, or something that is basically a one year deal, he may be weighing his options in coming here or staying in Detroit.

2024 WR FAs is dripping with gold......about 10 studs, sure half will be tagged, but thats leaves 5 and panthers should still have around 50 million in space...plenty for a true #1.

The main guy I would be interested in is Tee Higgins.  I'm sure the Vikings will sign Justin Jefferson long term.  Tee Higgins has a chance to hit the open market, but I believe Marvin Harrison will be a hall of famer.

  3. Here's my strategy going forward.  We draft Jalin Hyatt in the 2nd (if he's there).  Then next year, we sell our souls in order to move up and get Marvin Harrison.  Whatever we have minus Brian Burns, use it.  So for the next few years, Stroud will have Harrison, Thielen, Hyatt, TMJ, and Hurst to work with.

  4. Here's how I see it.  There is really no down side to Stroud.  The biggest knock on him is that he was throwing to hall of fame wide receivers.  The worst I see for him down the road is being a decent to good quarterback.  Bryce Young on the other hand is more of a gamble.  Not that he doesn't have the talent, but can he last long enough in this league to have good success?

So can you imagine we draft Young and he struggles or get hurt, while Stroud goes on to be a prolific QB?  Personally, I can live with us picking Stroud and Young goes on to have the better career.  Yet I would be devastated if we take Young and he flames out.

  5. Haha, Young isn't just a short QB.  Him being at 6'0"-6'1" would be considered short.  This guy is toddler sized.  If we are picking, and Stroud and Young are on the board, I would be disappointed if we didn't pick Stroud.  Now if we trade down to Houston and they select Stroud, I would be okay with Young being the pick. (Assuming we get Houston's extra 1st in the trade down)

It's possible that Young can have a Steph Curry-like effect on the NFL

I'm fine with either Stroud or Young

Well, Steph is a lanky 6'3".  Besides, this is a collision sport.  Not only that, but I believe Young's size will limit how far he is able to go in this league.  I might be the only one in this camp, but I think NFL defenses are going to have a ball in batting down his passes.

Anyone else thinking we would better off with more of a pass catching RB than Foreman after losing Moore?

Shoot, as much as I love and root for Foreman, I would like to go after David Montgomery.  He looks like he's ready to light the league on fire.

That's what I'm thinking there.  I wouldn't trade the pick to the Colts though.  They would punk us and draft Stroud or Young.  The Texans on the other hand, if they give us their extra 1st round pick and they draft Richardson, that would be a FLEECE!!!!!!!!!!!

He is today. But in a month and a half, that may change.

Not at one.  If we stay there, its going to be Stroud.  If we trade down to 2, it will be either Stroud or Young depending on who's there.  The only way we draft Richardson is if we trade down further than the top two spots.  I don't see us doing that.  There is really nothing Richardson can say or do that would warrant us picking him over Stroud or Young.  These reports are nothing but our front office putting out smoke screens.  Keeping everybody on their toes.

I mean, you just can't gloss over the "talent box." I mean, you can, but that encompasses probably most of what makes a QB great..

I understand your concern about being under center, but Bryce is a super smart and capable guy. I understand your concern about batted balls, but that's never been an issue with Young. You're talking about a guy that has consistently maneuvered inside and outside the pocket with success.

I hear you.  The NFL is just a different beast.  I remember a couple of games this year with Mayfield, and one where he had 8-9 batted passes.  It stunned me because that wasn't something he was known for.  I fear Young may have a good year or two, but then the NFL see something that's specific to his size, and they exploit that for the rest of his career.
