Bacot hitting the portal would NOT help UNC. I think there's virtually zero chance of that happening. That dude bleeds Carolina blue. I think he's going to look at his pro prospects and realize that making $1M+ in NIL money in Chapel Hill and a pass first PG coming in next year's class is his best bet, both in the short and long term.
That was my point exactly

I read somewhere that Bacot has another year of eligibility due to COV-ID if he wants it. Not sure if thats true. Agree Love should move on
What other choice does Bacot have?

Let’s face it, UNC was a marginal team last year who went on an incredible run and got hot at the end of the year. This year they played like they did for the first 20 games last year. But bringing back a veteran team should have been enough to win a weak Acc this year and there is no excuse for not making the ncaa tournament. Spin it any way you want but UNC sh*t the bed this year big time. Is it coaching or continuity? Who knows but they were a ncaa team at the beginning of the season regardless and this is unacceptable.

If it wasn't for that fluke tourney run last year Hubert would be fired.
Agreed

Watching these other conferences championship games today. The ACC does suck badly. These teams are light years better. Duke will not be making any type of run
All the more reason a team bringing back four starters from a national championship game team should have ran away with it in the acc this year. Yet, they barely finished .500 in that sucky conference and are now looking at an NIT bid.

Since 2020 - UNC has had 11 players drafted and NC$T has had only five.
Yet UNC has a record of 13-10 and NCSU has a record of 16-6 during that time. With all that talent disparity you speak of you would think it would’ve translated to better results on the field.

Unfortunately not, it has taken a turn for the worst with my child. I appreciate your thoughts, that is very kind.
Unfortunately I have been very occupied today, so I have not had my ear to the ground today. I'll be on twitter for the draft though, I'll drop whatever comes to me.
Verge, your child and your family are in my prayers tonight. Thank you for all you do for us panther fans.

Kayvon easily
I agree with that totally and would be very happy if we did, however my gut just tells me that our staff will reach for a quarterback out of desperation instead of doing the smart thing and taking KT.

Hi again! Time for another one of these. This is the only type of statement I will make on the draft and I'll answer questions in here so I don't get accused of "throwing junk at the wall" again . So what are we doing in the draft? What is the plan going in? This year seems a little more obvious than last year but we can still walk through it based on information I have gotten over the last few months, and I think I have been fairly consistent with that and not much has changed.
Option 1 (Ideal):
Ideally, one of these two tackles will land at 6 and Carolina will happily run the card up and be set at left tackle for the next decade. They want to fix that position and these are the top rated guys on their board. They would not entertain trade talks if these two were there.Option 2:
Charles Cross is their third graded tackle, they will be happy to have them and would still select him at 6. However, I think they would be more open to trade talks if it was just Cross on the board. Likely would be the pick if he was there, but wiggle room if a desperate team wants the slot for whatever reason (I'll explain the more later)
Option 3:
Here is where things get a little unpredictable. Obviously if they do manage a trade down with two or three of the tackles being off the board it would be a little hard to predict the target because we would have to know how far down they go. However, a few targets I know they have their eyes on with first round grades are:
Matt Corral
Kenny Pickett
Trevor Penning
Cole Strange
Ultimately I think they would go QB with this pick, and I think they would hope Corral was the guy that made it to them, as he fits what McAdoo's offense best and has a certain grit about him that fits whatever culture they are tying to conjure up."But Verge! What about Malik Willis?"
Our scouts definitely like him, I just think there is a certain feeling in the building that they are not the right team to develop him, nor can they afford to sit and wait for him to get where he needs to be. Rhule's job is on the line.
"But Verge! Who will be our QB if we take a tackle?"
I have maintained after the Watson failure that Jimmy G is our preferred option. It comes down to him and Baker Mayfield, whichever teams bends first on taking on part of their contract or outright cutting them. We will not be giving a draft haul for either one, and we will not be starting Sam Darnold in 2022.
One of the more complicated things about a trade down that people have been talking about wanting to do, is that the Panthers have put themselves in a precarious position by selling themselves as buyers of this QB class as well as not hiding their intent on liking the tackles. Teams want to move AHEAD of the Panthers to nab a tackle/quarterback, and the Giants are willing movers out of that 5th spot. Teams like New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and LA are looking to move ahead of us and nab one of those tackles or quarterbacks (I think, I don't officially know for NO) and put us in a position where a team trading up with us is not an attractive option.
So there is what I know in regards to our draft. Feel free to fire down some questions at me and I will be more than happy to answer with whatever information I have.Verge, in the event that Hutch, Walker, and the top 3 tackles go too 5, and we are unable to trade down, who do you feel we would select at 6?

Both teams want them off the roster and neither really have a lot of options. It's not going to be very expensive.
Who do you think is the better fit? Doesn't sound like McAdoo is too high on Mayfield according to the reports that surfaced before the draft that year. Do you think they prefer JG? Also I would be interested on how you think the top 6 picks go this year based on the info you have gathered. Thanks Verge

It will be hard to manuever the cap, but I believe they are looking into Armstead.
Sounds good. Any truth to Laremy Tunsil being part of the trade package?

We have to challenge for a champ soon or LaMelo will split
Shocker, I am not questioning your expertise in any way but given the same options Mitch had tonight, who would you have preferred we took at 11 and 19?

Darrisaw a LT? lol
The depth in this class is pretty great. I just doubt you are going to want to start one right away at LT for a playoff contending team.So verge do you agree if Slater/Sewell aren’t there that Surtain is the pick like has been reported today? Assuming chase and Pitts are gone of course. Or do we have Surtain above Slater on our board?

You don’t have to pay 150$ unless you lose. If you take the bet you either win $100 or lose $150.
