  1. Great pics as usual Jeremy ... thanks for sharing.  Kudos to you and everything that you have done with the huddle.  Wasn't too long ago that you were taking pictures from the stands.  Now, you are on the sidelines of the SuperBowl.  Pretty cool.

Lots of great pics but my favorite was Ealy.  I went from 'Whooo!  He picked it off!' ... to 'just fall down, please don't fumble' in about half-a-second.  The INT was great but his run back seemed like slow motion as he kept running with the ball away from his body.

  2. How can you not like this move?  Giving up practically nothing, paying him practically nothing (Bears covered most of that) and bringing him back to his natural position where he was very productive.  With CJ out, we have very little at DE.  With all his bonehead penalties, Ealy seems closer to being in the doghouse and riding the bench.  If Allen returns to being half the DE he was before becoming an OLB for the Bears, we just upgraded an area that was a glaring weakness.  Personally, can't wait to see him in a Panthers uniform.

  3. I'm surpised that he doesn't wake up everyday being thankful that he is on an NFL Roster!! ..Oh wait you said that he didn't!! . I don't care who's on twitter just as long as they do the right thing when it comes time.

Didn't say that he didn't do it ... just said that he should.  However, I agree with your point.  Need to deliver when it is time.  For his sake ... it's good that game 1 is not at BOA.  A couple more drops and the boo-birds might storm the field.

  4. Not a good sign. He is trying to come up with magic feathers to make himself catch the ball. Get him a big data sports psychologist asap, or cut him.

Get back on the jugs machine and get off of twitter!

Seriously ... glad others feel this way too.  After first game ... talked about it being a quick fix and just needs to get back to doing what he used to do.  Second game ... same thing, almost as if his ego was shrugging it off.  If it's that easy, then fix it and start consistently catching the ball.  Until then ... get off twitter and wake up every day being thankful that you are even on an NFL roster.

  5. Hope he gets a long, hard look during preseason.  Looking forward to the Bills game.  DG didn't have many options during FA or the draft to address the position.  Hopefully, we got a steal with Williams and he can step in as an upgrade ...OR ... we get lucky with a vet that doesn't make a final roster.

  6. 'The Panthers offense struggled again overall today. Cam Newton was either sacked or forced to scramble on a good number of snaps. This is starting to be a concern and brings back memories of last season. The offense needs better play selection with quicker developing routes along with better protection if it hopes to improve this season. '

Wow ... sounds familiar.  A porous OL and Shula's offense.  SSDD.  Please let there be hope.

  7. Seriously ... not a cowherd fan but thought he gave Harbaugh props and tried to carry him through the interview. Now my question is ... did Harbaugh not take his meds this morning or is he always that way.?. Thought he might be getting too much negative PR from leaving the 49ers, now I think he is not getting enough.

  8. Nailed it Jeremy.  Bersin was slowly becoming a fan favorite until he started returning punts, then went straight to the doghouse.  He was clearly out of his element.  We should have had a legitimate PR with experience at that position.  DG addressed that during the offseason with bringing Ginn back ... which was sorely needed.

Lets get behind this kid again because quite frankly, if its 3rd down in a clutch situation, I feel good about Bersin being on the field.

  9. At first it was amusing to read the blind-faith homers rationalize the picks ... even the latest knucklehead refuting that we should have gotten OL help. Seems to be even worse than last year. We went from 'answer is already on the roster' with Bell & Chandler to two retreads that have more drama than ability. Before I destress and stop reading ... MAJOR PROPS to Jeremy. The man has been spot on and is connected. Thanks for the insight.

  10. Add Shaun King to the mix ... Panthers are the biggest Day 1 Loser ... 'Doesn't know what Dave Gettleman was thinking' ... if they wanted to go LB, better players were available.

Time for the Homers to hate ... analysts know nothing ... fans know less ... OUR GM is the only person on this planet with football knowledge.  Same group that was defending Hurney and every move the Panthers made.  Not saying Shaq is a bad player but even he was surprised to be picked on day 1.

  11. because of how athletic Luke and TD are, we only use 2 LBs and 5 DBs. Roman Harper acts as our 3rd LB. And Shaq is much more athletic

He did play safety for one game ... thought it was only in high school.

If you are talking about nickel coverage, Luke and TD are the LBs and I don't see that changing.  The third LB would be replaced by a CB.  In dime coverage, Luke will be the only LB on the field.

Sean is a capable DC and will find a place for him.  If nothing else, Shaq increases our speed and sideline - sideline coverage.  Should be a big upgrade covering RBs out of the backfield when in the base defense.

Going to say a prayer tonight that some offensive tools fall into our lap tomorrow (OT&WR).

  12. Shaq makes us better by giving us an upgrade to 32-year-old Roman Harper (turns 33 in Dec), who we are cutting (or asking him to restructure) after this 2015 season because his cap hit jumps to $4,660,000 in 2016 (it was $1,518,750 last year and will be $1,800,000 this year...and we already paid off his $1,500,000 guaranteed)

I am all for getting rid of Harper but if I recall correctly, Shaq hasn't played safety since high school.
