IMO we tank next year. Trade off our assets, trade back in the draft to acquire future picks, let Rhule run this team to an 0-17 record, then cut ties.
Start fresh with a new coach, loaded draft capital and a shiny new training facility. Time to burn it down so we can build it back up. May have to say goodbye to some fan favorite players and fans in the mean time, but winning will bring fans back.
Sorry kid, but no team, player, owner, coach will EVER "tank" on purpose....... these are people with jobs!! They are not there to please "SB hungry" fans. Most of them will move on in a year and start making money at (and for) for another employer........ Why is that so difficult to understand.

So lets say we tear it all down..fire rhule. We hire the next big thing coach..hit on most of our draft picks the next 2 years. How long realistically would it take to get back the to superb owl?
How far away are we with our core and good coaching?
Would you be ok with going through a losing season next year as long as rhule is gone to get a good pick?
What is best case scenario W-L record for our potential rookie coach next year?
What would be your first steps as new coach?
Not a single person in the organization is willing to go through a losing season for just one pick (which may or may not work out... there are plenty of examples where the latter is the cae). Those are scenarios that fans come up with, but owner, coach, and players want wins EVERY SINGLE TIME the team takes the field. Hence, the organization is not going to make changes in that direction. If they fire the coach, it will be to get someone who immediately can deliver, or at least build on the strengths we have.

Not that it matters (or that anyone should care), but I still watch pretty much every game ( I did start raking leaves at one point during the game two weeks ago). A lot of the players still play their hearts out and try hard, I still love my Panthers and , yes, I hope too that better days are ahead.

I started raking leaves around half-time...... first time I have stepped away from my TV set during a Panthers game as far as I can remember....

I swear, this place is filled with the most miserable people I’ve ever seen. Rhule has been successful everywhere he’s ever been. He will be successful here too unless you crazies get your way.
Most of them are pimple-popping kids that have no clue how things work in real life. They stare at images of beautiful women day-dreaming about their lives together.... (oh.... and about the Panthers winning a SB)

That's scary.
But since it's soccer, it took everyone a good 10-15 seconds to realize anything was actually wrong since comically exaggerated flopping is so intrinsic to the game.
not true..... his teammate immediately knew something was very wrong, he was about to throw the ball to him as he collapsed in front of his eyes. He actually made sure that his tongue was not blocking his airways..... Yes, flopping is an irritating component of the game, but this had nothing to do with it and players, officials, and medics knew right away.

Its not logical to excited for a terrible QB.
I was existed to draft a rookie QB, but looks like we are becoming one of these purgatory teams signing castoffs.
hit the bottle early today.....?

After the 49er's trade today for pick 3, we're now completely screwed. We won't be getting one of the QBs. That's almost for certain.
Teddy B is not okay, he's not average, he's not someone we can trust even for one season. He's awful, probably closer to top 5 worst starters then not, and the only reason he looked semi good last year was because of our elite WR core.
We could get Kyle pitts and become one of the powerhouse offenses in the league. We could take Patrick surtain and right the wrong of letting Bradberry walk. We could take best tackle available. Could take micah parsons to solidify our front 7.
So why does nothing matter anymore?
We could do any of those things and nothing will change the fact we have a quarterback who's Dog meat.
This off-season went from one of the most hyped ever for me, with all the rumors and possibilities, into a dark cloud of doom in a heartbeat.
Nothing you do really matters when you have a bottom 5 QB in the league in terms of talent. He's so so so so soooo bad. If he is the starter next year I won't be watching. I'll be crying every day the next month. Enjoy the rest of the off-season boys.
get a life ...

Well, might want to save that phrase for next season as we're watching Teddy throw games away again.
A fan base just wants two things..... either a Superbowl or the top pick in the draft. One team will win the SB, one team will get the #1 pick in the draft. Thirty (30) teams will get neither. Players and coaches of every single team just want to win games, showcase their talents and make money.. they are not going to give games away to "please" the fan base.

No. Too many picks surrendered. That much draft capital would almost get us up to #1 this year.
Teddy and Deshaun swapping places is a given, as the caps won't work for either team without that.
#8 overall this year, ok. It's a given.
I'd give up a 1st and third next year and a second the year after.
should change your handle from BrianS to BrainS ....

The handling of the Sam Darnold situation is one of the worst decisions in franchise history.

If you go back to the beginning of the season when we were 3-0 there was nothing but praise from pretty much the entire huddle..... "we found our new franchise quarterback"
