The thing that bothers me with what we've done so far is that my impression of Reich's teams in Indy were hard-nosed, mean, aggressive, smart, fundamentally sound teams that struggled with a ton of turnover and the victims of never having a real franchise QB, so they struggled more than they should have.
The poo we've put on tape the last two weeks is nothing like that. Supposedly we have our franchise QB in place, even if a rookie, but it's all the other poo going on around it. Everyone keeps bringing up the vanilla scheme and all that, but our opponents are running bullshit schemes too, and they're still whooping our asses. The issue really is we are getting beat in almost every matchup, we are not fundamentally sound, we are not aggressive, we are not smart, we are not hard-nosed... we just look flat, uninspired, and really uninterested. Yes, again, I'm keeping it in perspective that it's preseason, but I don't know that I've ever been more underwhelmed by a preseason showing in our history, including the Rhule years, which is saying something.
I anticipate the actual scheme and real playcalling is gonna make a big difference and at the very least keep us competitive, but damn... poo like Ickey looking like complete ass both games, the whole OL looking just as ass, especially the interior... the defense getting gashed, guys getting beat in coverage, guys not tackling, receivers and Young not being on the same page multiple times in 2 weeks, etc. It's just all bad. Just not many things to be encouraged about in what our guys have shown.
But, we'll see what happens come the regular season... but, no question, this poo has been beyond disappointing.
He had a very different coaching staff in Indianapolis. Here he built an All Star staff. You’d think it would be better but more independent thinking and less Reich influence, overall. Will be a while before we know if it works.

He’ll get an injury settlement out of it. Should be able to find a replacement for a returner, maybe after cuts.

Right but no limit on space at any given time. I love that I can search for shows before they air. Every year I schedule all the new shows for the fall before they start airing, then just keep the ones I like and watch them at my leisure ( within 9 months of course ).

RB is one of those positions where you can score off other teams cuts so no rush.
Good point.

If only YouTube TV guide wasn't terrible
What don’t you like about it? I’ve had it for four or five years and love it. Unlimited DVR, control with my Google Home Minis, automatically records my favorite shows and my teams games, auto resumes where I left off.

In other words, beware of the Jets because they kicked our butts without doing all those things?

I’d rather Kupchak walk into my house and slap me in the face. What the hell is a Ntilkina? They announced that the sale is finalized and here I am thinking maybe things will be different now and this is the first move they make?

Doesn't anybody have jobs these days? Or are people actually taking vacations to go to training camp?
I have a job but since the pandemic I am hybrid and basically set my own schedule.

The NFL is making plans to expand to 40 teams.
The Panthers aren't going anywhere.
Wouldn’t surprise me. That makes the math easy. Ten 4 team divisions between two conferences with a full division in Europe.

I can surely see that some of the folks ahead of him deserve to be there. But Payton is number 3 with a win percentage of 57% and a playoff record of 11-11 or 50%.
I have always thought he was not nearly as good as others think.
I think I agree on Payton. I think sometimes a QB/Coach combo is just right. Brees made Payton really good. Not saying he isn't a good coach but not sure he is great.

I don't think so but as fans, we tend to be overly optimistic on the whole. Bryce's first year, Reich's first year, I get it. I feel like we could go 10 or 11 wins but 7 wouldn't surprise me. I do feel like (barring major injuries) we are setting up nicely by year three.

I watched Miller in the UNC game and he looked like high schooler against Leaky Black. Not sure if he even scored 10 points and it went to 4OT and Bama won because of the officiating.

Yeah. He failed at his first opportunity, many do. He seemed improved in his second opportunity (albeit as interim), which is what you want. Unfortunately, he probably won’t get another shot, after pursuing this lawsuit but he likely knew that when he decided to pursue it.
