I might be in the minority but I like saving our money for more important needs. Especially after already getting Sanders. Running backs are always easy to get mid to late rounds or after teams make preseason cuts. No need to overspend
I think the rub is that Forman got less than Sanders.

Does it though? Yeah, they will just continuously restructure and it won’t matter. Just funny, money.

by comparison to another RB that we are very familiar with and who received a contract extension the same year that Ekeler did - Ekeler is a bargain
But you have to give up assets to get him and he only has one year left on his deal and then you would have to pay him.

The best ability is availability. Can Young stand up to NFL physicality? That aside, prowess in college doesn’t necessarily equate to the same in the NFL. I don’t know who will be better but Young’s size concerns me.

I don’t think we got fleeced but we gave up two firsts, this year’s and next year’s. People can call it a swap but Chicago got two first round picks from us.

You are the only source. I never seen a guy who thinks he knows more than actual insiders.lol
Never change my man.
That is exactly the point. Steven A is not an insider. He even said so himself, that he is not refuting the others who have covered it, he's just echoing what he was told by Lamar's camp. People can be very clever with wording. The truth is usually somewhere in between. Maybe he isn't demanding a fully guaranteed contract but a guaranteed amount, greater than Watson's guaranteed amount, would be my guess, regardless of a non guaranteed amount beyond that.

I'd be okay with it. Drafting a QB is such a crapshoot.

I would be absolutely shocked if we both traded up to draft a QB AND signed Derek Carr. I definitely think those two scenarios are either or.
Agree. If we sign Carr, I would more expect to do something like draft Hooker in the 2nd round.

Why do we have to wait? He’s our free agent.

In Indy: https://www.colts.com/news/indianapolis-colts-finalize-2018-coaching-staff-20394484
Notables:
Jonathan Gannon - Cards HC
Nick Sirriani - Eagles HC
Matt Eberflus - Bears HC
Bubba Ventrone - Highly regarded
Marcus Brady - now w/Eagles - Has been tight with Nick & Frank for a while. Was one of the first to get the short end of the stick with the whole Irsay meddling.
Kevin Patullo - now w/Eagles
Had Robert Mathis as a defensive consultant
--
The rest were positional guys that had anywhere from 5-13 years experience, but no well known types
Not even close to the overall experience of this staff. Seems to have really pulled out all the stops with Tepper's resources.
Some impressive names, though. He seems to be able to identify good coaches.

Jacolby Brisket is most likely especially considering he already played in Frank's offense.
Brisket mentoring Stroud sounds good.
This makes sense and would be fine with me.

They have extra picks to burn.

Where’s Hurndog, when you need him? Tell Fitty to go get Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley!

Agreed. A coach like Reich seems a perfect situation for him to take the next step. Pairing Joe Brady with another NFL neophyte in Matt Rhule was a mistake.
This. My first thought was, he isn’t experienced enough. But Reich can help him along and even call plays for a while if needed.

That's a very valid point. Without Drew Brees, I don't think Payton would've found much, if any, success in New Orleans.Drew Brees made Sean Payton. Not the other way around.
I’m glad someone else is at least thinking this.

He was a good RB for a couple seasons but he needs more experience.

When can we interview the candidates who are currently employed by other NFL teams?

MJ in talks to sell majority stake of Hornets

Why would he only be talking to these two if he wants to sell? He should open it up for bidding.
