Its no coincidence that we suck on third down and we have no pass rush. How many third and long conversions have we allowed the last several games where we played great defense for two downs only to allow the QB to leisurely stand there and survey the field on a third and long while our four man rush gets no pressure whatsoever?
too damn many
i've been talkin poo about the pass rush all year, but some of the homers around here just point at the sack totals like we're dominating up front... we're not. A ton of our sacks have been coverage sacks or are coming off of blitzes while the front 4, other than KK, struggles

Just now, Hoenheim said:
We all know cam would have been man on mission all the way to the damn endzone on that drive. Cardinals are very beatable.
Cam would've been slinging straight 30 yard lasers all the way down the field in that situation

You obviously weren't going to try to take a shot downfield with Teddy's noodle arm, and there wasn't enought time to even RISK getting closer... why the fug don't you just take the FG?
Damn I'd be fuging fuming right now if I was a Vikings fan

"Ice up son" isn't even a top five Steve Smith quote tbh.
3 out of the top 5 quotes on their list were made up of him as a Raven... if that tells you anything.
The other one was the Janoris Jenkins thing, so nothing before 2013.
Lmao at the stupid fuging idea of 3 of his top 5 quotes in his 15 year career coming from his 1 1/2 years with the Ravens.

Hmm, for that to have been put out publicly like that sounds like it might possibly have been a topic of conversation within the Smith household. For someone as prideful and stubborn as Smitty this might be his way of saying "baby give me one more chance"
Now I know the chances of it happening are absolutely slim to fuging none, but it's an interesting possibility. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to it as long as it were made clear this isn't his locker room anymore.

Lmfao at Cam's poo-eating grin and Norwell's face. Norwell looks like he just had his mind blown thinking "That might be the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life..."

fug that, Deangelo is proving tonight what I've accused him of for several years now. Yeah, he's getting some nice holes, but he's actually fighting through contact, not going down from a stiff breeze, or tripping over his own feet at the LOS.
Dude simply got complacent and began coasting once he got that fat mostly guaranteed contract where he was virtually uncuttable.

I like how he emphasizes "300 YARDS OF OFFENSE" like that's some big fuging deal or something lmao
Then again, I guess the Jags don't see too many offensive outputs other than putrid ones

Did anyone else see that 350 lb Steelers fan?
-
@Jeremy Igo So by that Daryl Williams comment do you mean he's the best value pick considering the round we got him, or you feel like he's actually our best rookie right now?
Just curious because I think that statement could be taken either way. FWIW the dude was immediately my favorite pick when we took him.

And what a glorious photo of the majestic Pro Bowl QB Derek Anderson galloping past the defense

I'm ready to see Byrd beat the poo out of somebody now

There's also the fact he's a very unique and distinct personality, even among the most eccentric of NFL players... and that he sort of changed the game for small receivers.
Still never seen a 5'9" 180 lb guy go out there and do the poo he could in his prime. Most smaller WRs, even though they might put up numbers, don't threaten a defense like he used to. He was a true legit #1 that could do it all and you had to double team him. His 2005 and 2008 seasons by advanced metrics are two of the best seasons for a WR in the history of the NFL.
Leading the league in receiving yards per game despite being on an offense that was dead last in passing attempts itself is ridiculous. Makes you wonder just how much better he really could've been in those prime years.

I know Smith didn't make a lot of friends in his younger days, but it seems like a lot of people have warmed up to him as he's gotten older.
Saw a recent poll where he was one of the most genuinely liked and well-respected players in the league among NFL players. He was in the top 10.

I still have no idea what in the ever-loving name of God Nakamura was trying to do on that play. The guy was in perfect fuging position to make a play on the ball... instead he just tries to jump, ends up only jumping like 2 inches off the ground, and instead just kind of falls backwards like some sort of wack ass Matrix bullshit, completely fuging up on what was a severely underthrown ball that any other DB would lick their chops to get a chance at. Holy poo he was bad.
Then to make it worse we had to watch that horse-faced SOB Matt Ryan act like he was some sort of hot poo after the game after getting owned all day and winning a game they had no right winning on one helluva prayer of a pass.
That game really fuged me up for a while.

4 out of 5 picks seem to already be entrenching themselves as solid contributors on my he roster. Hope Mayo comes around but it still looks like this is shaping up to be a great draft class.
Damn, I didn't even think about that. Funchess, Williams, and CAP have all been looking like really solid picks and even Shaq as well with the limited time he's had to show his stuff.
It's hard to let yourself get that hyped up about that many draft picks (and UDFAs) only to be disappointed... but damn. Gettleman seems to do this poo every year. Late round and UDFA gems galore.
I wish the dude was in his 40s. Hard to believe he's been passed up for the GM job over and over throughout his career.

Been trying to pretty up Smitty's wikipedia resume here and there... a lot of people just glance at that accomplishment section to get a feel for a player they don't know much about
A year and a half ago his section was pretty barren

If Steve can get 2,800 more yards then it'll greatly help his chances. That'll put him at 16,000 receiving yards, and in sole company with Jerry Rice as the only receivers with 16k+ receiving yards.
At some point his return yards have to be accounted for too. He has an additional 4,000+ return yards and 6 return TDs. 16,000 receiving yards and 4,000 return yards would put him at 20,000 all purpose yardage, which would easily be 2nd most all time. Hell, I think Rice is the only player in NFL history that's in any sort of 20,000 yard club. So Steve would have a pretty nice elite claim if he joined that company.
edit: just checked, and Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, and Brian Mitchell also have 20,000+ all purpose yardage... all those guys aside from Mitchell are in the HOF.
